Glad to hear good reports Oma and Lizzie

At least shops are open now so I can browse to keep warm, and knee permitting I will have a walk by the river too. It would certainly be too cold to sit on a bench for almost 3 hours!

That sounds lovely Gemini, don't get too cold, a hip flask maybe.

Pleased to hear you are feeling better Oma. I have to collect one of my prescriptions from the hospital, I wonder if they are too expensive for doctors to prescribe them or to keep a check on whether you are taking them? I wish I had your get up and go, it takes me ages to get going in the mornings.

I need to hit the local shops today to get a birthday card apart from that no plans. I have no intention of going to JL until the morons have exhausted themselves.

Pleased to hear you are feeling brighter Lizzie.

        Good Tuesday morning everyone.

We had a hard frost overnight, but it's almost gone now and it's sunny. I just wish it would warm up a bit!

Day 2 of our GDs' sleepover. My Thought for the Day says it all. You forget how busy it is having the GCs, although once they got off to sleep they didn't wake till 6.30, unlike Cooper who woke me up in the middle of the night scrabbling like mad at Eva's night time bed, which is right by ours. He couldn't arrange it how he wanted and got very cross with it!! He ignored his own bed which we'd put in the girls' room. Eva let him have her bed ok - she just jumped up on ours!!

I thought they'd all be tired this morning - but I was wrong.

No plans for the rest of the day - I'll just go with the flow. The girls are really very good and play together well most of the time. The rest of the time they're eating!

Oma and Lizzie - pleased to hear you're both back to normal. Oma - it does seem silly that B has to go to the hospital to pick up medication. You'd think in this day and age they would be able to email the prescription to your local pharmacy. It would be all the same if he didn't have transport to get to the hospital. You're not having much luck with your heating - stay warm.

Gem - I bet it's not often you look forward to going to the dentist, but it will be a relief to have that stitch removed. I'm sure you will enjoy a mooch round while you're waiting for GS1. Take care.

Nanto - what a cute graphic.

Plant - I don't like having to rush in a morning either. It's lovely not having to set an alarm most days! I wasn't surprised to see how many people are out and about shopping, but hopefully it will settle down to more sensible levels before any harm is done.

Gas man came very early , 15 minutes and he was done , so we went to SIL's shop and I chose my carpet
Just a plain cream but its dirt resistant and can be bleached if need to .
Beauty of having a SIL with his own business I get my Carpets at trade price
Fitting it first week in May .

Oma - a cream carpet looks so luxurious, but even with bleach I don't think it would stay cream in our house.

            Which room is it for?

                  Good afternoon all.
If my back wasn't so temperamental I would do a little dance, my window blinds have arrived at last . At the moment we don't have anything up at the kitchen and bathroom window but we aren't overlooked by houses or main road it just seems cold when I am up in the middle of the night sorting out the cat and I have the lights on .
Hopefully DS will be able to put them up this weekend.

Nan2 good news about your SIL

Oma I am sure I have said this before but I love the smell of new carpets ! Oh and wood ! Good to hear you are feeling better

Next big thing on my list is a hair cut. Having it done at home which is unusual for me as I have gone to a salon for years. Hairdresser is booked for next Monday afternoon, can't wait

                  Stay safe everyone
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Nanto, please to hear the news of your Sil, she must have been under a strain waiting.

Mimi, can't have you walking around at night with no blinds at the windows. Take care of your back.

I gather Cooper won the tussle for the bed Daisy but Eva didn't mind.

Lizzie, pleased to hear you feeling brighter, a holiday might be getting closer.

Hairdresser tomorrow, I hope my attempts will not finding her running to her car.

Went to our small parade of shops and bought some cards, they have such a lovely selection of cards. Then went to the farm shop with DD, didn't need much but managed to come out with a basket full.

Nan2, happy news about your SIL
Plant , Mimi and Oma, I think hairdressers will have a few sights meeting their eyes this week!
I love that new carpet smell too.
I hope the girls are having a good time Daisy. I'm sure they are 🙂

My tooth is now stich-free . The next appointment with my regular dentist to look at the problem tooth next to the extracted one is May 26th, the first I could get. I suspect I will be phoning before that for an emergency appointment with someone.
It was so warm and sunny I spent a nice time in the gardens behind the Minster, reading. DD3 joined me during her lunch break, bringing sandwiches she bought on the way, which was very nice.

Gem, good that you are now stitch free.

It was ovely here when the sun came out.
It's the same forecast for the next few days.

Daisy, how is it going with the girls.

Oma - I would be going round sniffing at my new carpet as well!

Mimi - we haven't got blinds at the kitchen windows, and I always think if I happen to have to have to get up in the night at 3 am anybody looking in must be prepared for what they might see!! But you're right - blinds make it more cosy.

Gem - you must be feeling so much better, and I bet those sandwiches were very enjoyable.

Nanto - that is such good news about your SIL. A big sigh of relief I'm sure.

Plant - our local card shops have a good choice and it's great to support the small independent shops.

Plant and Oma - you won't know yourselves with your new hairdos.

We had a good day with the girls. They were up bright and early despite a late night as well as a midnight feast! They had toasted waffles with vanilla ice cream, blueberries, strawberries and honey for breakfast. It's become their regular treat when they stay over, but of course have missed out during lockdown.

They played really well together - as always hide and seek, then they did some codeword puzzles. I think they're quite hard but even GD2 did quite well. They asked for sausages, chips and vegetables for lunch, with bananas and yoghurt for pudding. They're a joy to feed because they like most things and love sitting down to eat all together.

Their late night was catching up with them by 4.30 so I took the home and stayed until mum and dad got in from work.

It's been a lovely two days, but I have to confess - I'm tired!

Towels in the wash,so should be able to get them outside to dry.
