Oma, I think he will phone, well, hope!! Your GS1 did well to get his place, how can they not include music!!!!! DS2 has his own studio, well, he will have when it is finished, I am going tomorrow for lunch so will see if it is finished.

Gem, enjoy your visit with your mum. I am going for a bike ride, cheer myself up!!!!!

Lizzie, what a carry on. No wonder you are annoyed. I hope the bike ride calms you down!

Oma, I don't know which is worse, fobbing you off with the same defective item, or bribing you to remove the review!

I ordered a golf glove from Amazon which arrived yesterday part of OH's birthday present. I ordered medium. OHs hands are slimmer than mine but I couldn't even get it on! I know they need to be tight but this won't fit her. It cost over £20 so not cheap. A Callaway, and made in Indonesia, so I'm guessing their sizes are a lot smaller. I am returning it for refund as I fear even large will be too small.

Good morning, nice sunny day here, haven’t been outside yet so I don’t know how cold it is.

Enjoyed my morning out yesterday but strangely I felt exhausted when we got home. Maybe all the chat etc wore me out, I’m not used to it. Out to my friends for afternoon tea in her garden so hope it stays nice.

Shame about your orders going wrong, such a nuisance when that happens.

I feel very achey this morning, my joint are not good at the moment so am off to have a hot shower to see if that helps. It’s times like this that I miss my bath but I wouldn’t be able to get out it so wouldn’t be much good, but I do miss a lovely long soak in bubbles.

        Have 🌞a good day everyone.

Plant, was it you that asked about listening to books on my walk? I have the app on my phone and use earphones.

Good Afternoon everyone, its so cold here today but the sun is cracking the flags evn so I have taken your advice Daisy and kept my plants in the shed, there are 3 x peppers which look very healthy at the moment fingers crossed they take well, when my GD Willow was here yesterday she has said she will have some on her salad in the summer along with the spring onions she is growing at home with her daddy.

The chap from the flooring company is coming in on Tuesday to measure up for me for the bedroom now I have made the decision I can't wait for it to happen,I'm also going to change the tiles in my kitchen they where put in by the HA so are a standard colour not too bad but just not my taste I want white oblong ones with a colour every now and then according to DD DGS3 is an expert at tiling so that should be easy to arrange. All these jobs to do on my own was daunting but I have got my head around it now, when my darling John was here he would do all this when DD and I where on holiday so I never has to cope with any mess and all was back to normal when we got home again.

Looking on the Hotter site I saw a cute pair of everyday shoes called Ruby in their sale and was amazed they had my size a massive reduction from £75 down to £19 or it may have been £29 can't just think but either way they are just right for the summer with jeans I am not buying any more shoes I don't have the room thats my story and I'm keeping to it.

After talking about pot roasted lamb breast the other day I have one in the oven right now just got to mash some King Eds for the duchess pots DD is coming for tea when she finishes work this afternoon I have even got a nice wine to treat ourselves too so looking forward to a nice couple of hours later on.

Tomorrow is the first time I shall see my friend Margaret iatn 12 mths we are meeting on New Brighton Prom for a coffee and sandwich I have booked a table for us it will be nice to catch up with her she worked with me in the charity shop which I ran for St Vincents and is such a funny lady always repeating herself .

Must move on now with the painting so I can clear up before DD arrives at 5ish xx talk again soon

Glamm, you are a busy lady. Enjoy the meal with your DD. Problem is, I find, that when I start changing anything in the house, it does lead to other jobs. Not being a very decisive person, I find it very hard and am frightened to make the wrong decision. Lovely to meet up with a friend at last, I haven't managed it yet.

Saying the above, I am going to have a new walk-in shower fitted, soon, I hope. I have a shower cubicle in one bathroom and a bath in the other which I can't use. Has anyone any experience of one of those bath aids that lower you into the bath?

Oma, what a shame your GS can't take up the offer, perhaps there will be another he can accept. He is such a talented young man. Thanks for asking Oma, my cold is on it's last legs.

GGD H was very vocal yesterday, I am sure she is trying to talk!

Lizzie I do hope you can get the problem with the steps sorted soon, it is annoying.

Yesterday early evening the most beautiful fox came in from the woods and stopped just under my SR window. He was so large and a beautiful russet brown colour. Not one of those scrawny urban foxes. They were satisfied with my INR reading at the hospital so do not want to see me for four weeks. I had filled up the car with paper and card so went to the tip after the hospital. Called at the parade of shops on the way home, posted a letter, called into the charity shop and got a coffee from my favourite cafe.

Enfys, I have the Audible app on my Ipad so will install it on my Iphone. Thanks for the info.

Plant we had one of those bath aid lifts but B couldn't get on with it , His was his back problems made it un comfortable for him but may be ok for you .

How lovely to see the fox ,

Glamm sometimes you just have to take the plunge and change things , we have the white Metro tiles with a black and Chrome thin stripe to break them up , so easy to clean too ,
So handy to have a GS who can tile I will put a pic of my oblong tiles on

Good bargain with the shoes , isnt it nice to get a bargain

Enfys how are the joints have they eased as the day has got on ? xx

Oma, what a pity the offer of a place wasn't suitable for GS.

Had a lovely visit from DS2 and his partner earlier today.

Lizzie, forgot to say yesterday the plant you showed us looked very healthy.

What a lot going one today. Do you think we are starting to take the first steps to resuming (almost) normal life again?

I had a hospital appointment first thing this morning to have some sun damage scraped off my cheek. The worst thing was the local anaesthetic going in - the actual procedure only took a couple of minutes, and apart from looking a bit battered I'm fine. The instructions from the hospital included the immortal advice 'have a quiet day', which I read out to OH. So we got home, he made us a coffee which we had with a hot cross bun, and made sandwiches for lunch. But by mid-afternoon he seemed to have considered his nursing duties complete and I found myself making a cuppa and then cooking dinner!

Plant - I agree about changing things in the house - one thing leads to another ... and another! Baby H sounds gorgeous, and I bet she is trying to talk - I think my GD2 was trying to repeat 'hello' at about that age, and giggling like mad over it. Ahhhh - babies are so lovely. Your fox sounds lovely too. We have one who comes into our garden sometimes, but mainly I see it round the corner, and Eva makes a beeline for the gap it has made in a garden hedge and has a good old sniff round!

Lizzie - I would have been furious about the steps, and how rude to say he hoped you'd calmed down a bit!

Oma - I had to laugh about your Habitat kettle tale - they'd have to get up a lot earlier to fool you! And if he was going to try and bribe you to remove the review, his price was an insult! Grrrr .... It's good to know the football Academy offered your GS1 a place, but he's a very sensible and mature young man, and I think he's made the right choice to be able to enjoy his music as well as his sport. Thanks for asking about DS1. He's done one week on the trial drug so far. He's been ok apart from a bit of tummy upset and he sees the consultant next week sometime.

Enfys - it is tiring at the moment when you spend time with people. We're just not used to it any more. But practice makes perfect, and you've done well to have two meet ups on two days. Perhaps walking a bit more will help your joints as long as you don't overdo and build up gradually.

Glamm - you are getting so many jobs done. You should be very proud of yourself. Are you uncovering the little plants and putting them outside during the day? I never have any success with peppers! Your little GD is going to grow up with green fingers, bless her. My memories of New Brighton prom are that it's always blowing a gale off the River! Wrap up warm. I hope you've had a nice evening with your DD.

Gem - how was your mum? It's a faff having to wait for the Covid test results, but it means you can spend time with her safely. Did you see her in her room or elsewhere? Did you have a good time with GD and GS2 after school?

Nanto - were you back from your in-laws in time for DS's visit? It's lovely to see them isn't it.

Enfys, since we all do nothing, when we do something it is tiring!

Glamma, I'm sure you and your friend will have a lot to talk about!

How lovely to have a nice visit from family Nan2.

Plant a lady Lizzie and I knew on another forum had one of those baths.

Daisy, I had a good visit with mum. They seemed to forget about me so we got much longer than the half hour. Visits take place in residents rooms.
She is always quite tearful as first and asking when she will leave there etc. She does settle though and we have some good chats and she is never upset when I leave her.
Both GD and GS2 seemed tired after their 4 days back at school!
I hope your face isn't sore tomorrow.

Daisy I had read on a review site that they did this to someone else so I thought I would try it out never thinking it would really happen .
Shocking isnt it but they did change the box , the one I sent it back in had a ripped lid

Gem nice to have that extra time with your Mum so pleased she is ok when you leave xx

Nanto did your DS stay long ? so nice to have visitors again isnt it

Good Saturday morning from me. Bright and early because I'm meeting out new neighbour for a dog walk soon.

Oma - I wonder what they do with the products they've taken out of the new boxes??

Gem - I'm glad your mum settles down quickly, and lovely that they 'forgot' you yesterday. It's surprising how tired the children get on the first week back after a holiday, but I'm sure they loved seeing you.

No plans yet for toady except the sun's shining and I'm going to get bedding etc out on the line as soon as I can. There's one load in!

                        Happy Saturday everyone. xx

Good morning. Very sunny this morning.

Going into Wakefield shopping today. Don't know if it will be busy or not. We will find out.
Our favourite cafe has got tables and chairs outside. Shouldn't be too bad in the sun.
We park in Trinity Walk,so will be going into Sainsburys for the supermarket stuff.

DS2 and his partner stayed for a couple of hours yesterday. Invited them to have fish and chips with us.
But,they had to get home, someone was coming to pick something up.

GS's wife's birthday today, don't know if we shall see her. In spite of GS1 saying not to buy presents, I have got a small gift for her.

Beautiful morning here, might do some gardening, apart from that no plans really apart from watching the funeral. I suppose the press will have their lenses focused on Harry and William to see any reaction to their meeting again. People have been advised not to stand outside the gates but they will want to see the family arrive or perhaps they are already inside. Windsor is only a short ride from here, amazing place but I haven't been to Windsor for ages.

Daisy, you are lucky to have nice new neighbours to walk dogs with, better to walk dogs with someone.

Have a good shop in Wakefield Nanto, I hope it isn't too crowded.

Gemini, nice that you had extra time with your mother, it must stress you when she cries but good that you leave her smiling.

                                Good morning dear ladies,
Another sunny one here. We are quite getting used to bright sunny mornings. So cold at night though! A few days ago OH rescued everything from the greenhouse and brought them into the conservatory until these minus overnight temperatures go.

OH and SIL1 are deck dismantling again. They think this will be the last day. I will check if DD and GS will be in and if so I will go too. If not I will do some kitchen cleaning at my mum's house.

                                Have a nice Saturday everyone.
