It's only about a two hour drive Daisy, so we can set off at 2pm, or later if we are not ready
The Sainsbury's delivery has come, so we need to sort out what to take and what to leave.

My car needs cleaning too! I did tidy it up inside for its MOT and service

Good Morning ladies, Daisy I have finally sorted my posting on other threads I just don't know what happened but all OK now.

On Wednesday I met my friend for lunch in Liverpool before we went to the restaurant I did a browse in Next for a summer dress to wear for DD's 50th birthday on 3rd July nothing excited me so will spend a day on my own next week looking at other stores even M&S was very unexciting.
We walked down Matthew Street and had a drink in Sgt Peppers before wandering on to Castle St for our booking at Gino's D'Campo's it is the first time I had been there for food and was very impressed the service and staff where amazing I can't praise the food enough we sat on the terrace overlooking the street and people watched as we enjoyed our meal I was told when booking we could have the table for 90mins but it was late afternoon and they where not too busy as the lunchtime rush had finished so they let us stay much much longer .Anyone going to Liverpool you should certainly try and visit. They are opening a new restaurant in Liverpool One I just hope it is the same standard as the one I visited.

Gems enjoy your time away I am so jealous x I hope Henry has recovered after his travels x

Gemini, have a lovely time, enjoy your trip.

Glamm, that sounds a nice day out, meeting friends and having lunch, almost normal. Food sounded good.

Just back from a local, had a lovely lunch.

Glamm - I'm glad everything is ok with your posts now. Talking about your outing to Liverpool with your friend brings back memories for me from when I worked there. I know a lot has changed - I don't think there was anything that would have tempted me to walk down Matthew Street, apart from what I remember as a very good Chinese, mostly visited by Chinese people. Gino's will definitely be on our list whenever we get back there. How disappointing not seeing any dresses you liked. Hopefully you'll find something before your DD's big day.

Gem - that's a nice relaxed start to your holiday. Are you eating out tonight?

Plant and Nanto - it must be the day for people eating out. Glad you both enjoyed yourselves.

It's been cold and miserable here - heating and lights on for most of the day, and I haven't done much.

Glamma, I'm glad your posting problem has gone.

Sunny here in Northumberland would you believe?!
Nice little cottage, really close to the beach.
We have unpacked the food, had a cuppa and custard cream or two, next is unpacking proper.
Daisy we will be having Sunday lunch out tomorrow, eating in tonight. We have bought food for 3 evening meals so we will either eat out or get fish and chips the other nights. Macaroni and cheese ready meal for tea, followed by trifle. Wine and beer in the fridge, everything we need for our first night

Been grey and miserable for the past couple of days here. I do hope the sun will make a reappearance soon! Not cold enough for the heating though!

Well, the house is off the market for the time being. it was beginning to get on top of us, all the nonsense with our buyer and OH's health. So after a long talk we decided to let things settle down, get into some routine with OH's treatment and appointments , get our break with GS over and then see how we feel about it all. There are quite a few coming on the market at the moment and hopefully there'll be one with our names on it when we start looking again. It's been a hassle, but we've got rid of a lot of 'stuff' and won't have quite so much to do next time !

Had a splitting head yesterday, so took a couple of Co-codamol and had the best night's sleep for a long time!

Went to garden centre this afternoon and got some fuschias to put in the planter at the front of the house. Haven't bothered with it because of the move, but now we're not going, I though I'd better give it a bit of a tidy. Will do it tomorrow! I'm putting away my winter clothes at the moment, but am having a bit of a break, not because I've got a lot of clothes, just because I'm fed up doing it!

Have a good evening whether you're home or away ladies x

WG I think you doing the right thing ,
You have so much going on at the minute , to much to deal with the added pressure of moving too , its a stressful time all round .

I always say things happen for a reason , your not meant to move just yet

You needed that good nights sleep .

WG - I'm sure you feel a weight has been lifted from your shoulders. You have got enough to deal with at the moment, not least getting into a routine with your OH's treatment. That in itself is a big upheaval. Do you feel better for making the decision? I hope you get another good sleep tonight. xx

I love that you've got fuchsias for the planter - that's such a lovely thing to do. They're one of my favourites - I've never quite got over the wonder of the intricacies of the flowers as well as the amazing range of varieties.

I was going to put my winter clothes away as well, but it's so flippin' cold I'm leaving them out for now! I was speaking to a BIL in North Wales this afternoon and he said it was a perfect summer's day and when they went down to the beach this morning there were lots of people swimming in the sea! I think he thought I was kidding when I said we have the heating on and the lights!

Had a lovely lunch out with DD and SIL, much shorter menu, it did almost feel normal.

WG, alough I am disappointed that you will not be moving to Bucks, it did seem that as the sale was not going smoothly, it was the right decision.

Gemini, you will now be settled in your holiday cottage, I hope the weather is kind to you.

Good morning. A bit overcast and had rain during the night.

Just done a ew jobs in the kitchen.

GD2 and her boyfriend might be calling in this afternoon. Nothing definite.

                              Good morning everyone.
I know none of us are dads or grandads, but Happy Father's Day to the fathers and grandfathers in our lives.

It's a bit misty over the sea this morning but no rain and in fact the forecast here for today is a lot better than the York one.

We have Sunday lunch booked at a pub a couple of miles away. I booked it a couple of weeks ago (forgetting it was Fathers Day!) and then when the forecast was poor I was very glad we had something indoors arranged. We will probably have a drive around and get our bearings too.

Have a nice day whatever you have planned.

Good Fathers' Morning everyone. It's cold, dark and drizzling here this morning - Gem - you've chosen your holiday location well.

No plans for us except perhaps get the utility room back together. While the tumble dryer was on the floor being mended OH also rubbed down and oiled the wooden work surface. He's dithering about putting an extra coat on it but if he doesn't then we can put the dryer back up on the worksurface and put everything back in place.

Happy Fathers' Day from me as well to all the Dads in our families.
