Plant - another busy day for you. How exciting with all the wedding preparations going on. I hope your GD finds The Dress soon. Did you say you've got your outfit? (Sorry I can't remember!) With the hen do being Harry Potter themed, my imagination is running wild about the style and colour scheme for their wedding? Or is it top secret?

Oma - the thunder and lightning should keep the magpies away! I hope Storm was ok with it.

I've had a bit of a day off! I did the Sainsbury's order for tomorrow, then after lunch I decided to do some baking. I'd promised the GDs some flapjack in a rash moment, so I made that, some wholemeal scones and a ginger cake/flapjack type of recipe that I haven't used for years. Dinner is in the oven, and I'm relaxing with a glass of wine for a while.

Plant, the car boot they went to this morning, has been on a wendesday for many years.
Apparantely, the owner of the field says there is less competition on a week day.

Dad had a lovely birthday. he has asked me to thank all you lovely ladies for the birthday wishes.

Had plenty of sunshine today, which was quite pleasant. Chilly at times when it clouded over.

Nanto - I'm glad your FIL enjoyed his birthday. Did your OH buy anything at the car boot sale?

Miss Piggy - you're welcome anytime! How was B's potato bread? I took the flapjacks over for the GDs. There was only their dad at home - I hope he didn't scoff them all! I'm still learning with scones. I used wholemeal SR flour today and it gave them quite a nice flavour, but they'll need eating up quickly I think.

I forgot to book my usual slot for Sainsbury's delivery tomorrow, so I'll have to be up earlier as I could only get 8-9 am.

Sunny now,but when hubby fed the birds earlier,it looked like we've had a little flurry of snow.
He said it definately wasn't frost.
Hail and thunder forecast for later. Oh what joy.

Daisy,he bought some more tomato plants. I thought he had enough.
He has grown his own from seed, but he got some of a different variety.
            Also got some for DS1.

Got a 9am appointment at the clinic for my shingles jab.

              Good morning all.
A bright cloudless sunny one here. I do wish things woud warm up though!

Nan2, I had heard there may be snow in some areas! Good to get your shingles jab done with.
Not long for your GD to find a dress Plant!
              Yesterday's baking sounds delicious Daisy.

This morning OH and I are going to my mum's house. To put out the recycling boxes and to see what the DD's have done. They spent time there on Tuesday night, organising stuff into piles. DD3 is listing the washing machine and fridge freezer for sale. Both are almost new.
This afternoon I am going to see mum. I missed the boat this week in securing the Friday afternoon slot to fit in with school pick up.

I hope everyone is well and has a good day.

Wow a flurry of snow and then a good 5mins of heavy hailstones what is happening with the weather I had to run out and put my pot plants into the shed for cover

It still looks overcast here so I will probably stay home for the day,I don't need any shopping at all I had a Tesco delivery on Tuesday so I'm all stocked up with full fridge and cupboards.

I have a very good friend who celebrates her birthday at the end of the month can anyone suggest a good postbox flowers company I can use some I have seen have good and bad reviews so some help would be appreciated .

There is a lovely aroma is coming from my kitchen as I put on scouse in the slow cooker for tonight's meal I'll pop in some garlic bread to mop up the yummy gravy.

To day is voting day and the Polling Station is just 5 mins walk away from me so later this afternoon I am going to walk around and do the deed,we are also voting for Mayor and Police Commissionaire as well as local Council leader I haven't had any one knock canvassing this time which is very strange indeed they usually pop up a couple of weeks before election but no sign of anyone this time.

I wish everyone a good day and will speak soon x

Good morning, it is a slightly better day here, still cold but at least the sun is out. I have just called in at DS1, I had to take GD1 iPad to see if it could be repaired, no, it could but wouldn't be worth it , so a new one. DS1 officially gets the boat today, he was packing in to go and will sail in the area a few days to get used to it, DIL and the girls are going on Saturday for a few nights. Better weather forecast for Sunday so they will enjoy it.

I am going to varnish my kitchen table and a chair, I have some new jeans and the studs are (were) so sharp the chair is scratched, really deep, I wonder what had caused it then realised it was the jeans so I have removed the studs.

Oma, you will get used to the wall, I hope.

Gem, how is your mouth? The neighbours is still very sore and he is not eating well. Gem, your girls did well to help, I hope they sell the washer etc but expect they will.

Glamm, enjoy your meal. As for the flowers, I wouldn't know, I know a friend of mine in the UK orders them but she is not always satisfied.

Daisy, your baking does sound good, I found a recipe for quick and easy scones and they are the best I have ever made.

I phoned my BIL yesterday, he isn't taking the loss of my sister well at all, I do hope he gets out and about soon to occupy himself.

Good morning, ladies. Snow! Hail! Frost! I think the world must have tipped upside down and we're heading for winter again. We've got patchy cloud/sun, but it is properly chilly.

It's been all go in the Daisy domain this morning. I'd just finished my shower and got dressed when the Sainsbury's order arrived. Cleaned the fridge and put everything away. Had breakfast, put first load of washing in. Then it was threatening rain, so we went and voted. Usually voting in our village is a chatty social affair, but today no-one spoke to anyone else. The ladies manning the polling stations looked really fed up already. We just had local councillors and a Police Commissioner to elect. Glamm - I suppose none of the candidates have been campaigning door to door, but we've only had one leaflet through the letterbox, and nothing about the Police Commissioner.

Glamm I have both received and sent flowers through the post from Bloom & Wild. They have a lovely choice, and the bouquet I received included the actual bulb with bulb flowers, was beautifully fresh and had flower food to use straight away and then more to refresh them with. They were mostly buds which opened up to perfection. I was really delighted with them.

Lizzie - what a pity GD1's iPad couldn't be repaired, but exciting news about the boat. Is it a motor boat or a sailing boat? Quite a few of our neighbours have boats - it's a good place to sail - but they are so expensive, especially if you want a good mooring. I hope your BIL will start to get out a bit soon and find something he enjoys doing. I know the weather isn't helping, and it's very early days, but perhaps having some company would help him come to terms with losing your sister. xx

Lizzie - would you mind sharing your scone recipe under "Recipes"? Having never made them until a few months ago, I'm now keen to experiment!

Nanto - your hubby is right - you can't have too many varieties of tomatoes. I'm only growing 3 this year though - bog standard Moneymaker, Sweet Million, which is also a reliable favourite, and Crimson Blush which I've never grown before. If I'm not careful I end up with too many pots! Good to be getting your shingles jab - it's well worth doing.

Oma - I had to giggle (sorry!) - not looking at your pink wall! I'm sure DD and B are right - it looks lovely in the photos. How is Storm today?

Gem - how are you feeling today? It sounds as though you're making good progress with your mum's house, and I'm sure the white good will sell quickly.

WeeGranny - I hope things are going smoothly with your house sale. Is your OH home yet - I hope he's feeling less confused and isn't in pain from his surgery.

Grauntie - how are you today? I hope you're not trying to do too much and your resident nurse is taking good care of you?

                      Have a good day, everyone.

Morning ladies! OH is home with a scar to end all scars, luckily it doesn't need any dressing. Phew! He slept most of yesterday and is asleep again, so I'm just leaving him be. Back to hospital on Monday, not sure what for or who we're seeing.

Waiting for skip to arrive then I can start getting the rubbish into it. No news from solicitors. Not sure whether to take that as a good sign or whether I should be worrying!

Advice from you Bleach Babes please!! I've got stickers off DS's cupboard wall, but am left with a sticky residue. What's the best way to get it off please?

We had vouchers from Easyjet for cancelled flights last year, so I've taken the plunge and used them to book flights to Scotland in September. Thought we'd rent somewhere by the sea and just have a complete break. Hopefully everything will be settled down by then. Need something positive to look forward to.

Is Scouse some kind of lamb stew Glamma ?

Hope GM is doing OK and that your sore mouth soon heals Gem. Take care everyone else and have a good day xx

Glamma, it was Bloom and Wild I recommended in the past. Not any more. I sent DD3 some expensive flowers in February of last year. I happened to be at her house the following day looking after GS1. The roses in the bouquet we disappointing, not in good condition. I took photos and sent them in. All they would d0 was refund me £5. I was very disappointed and said so. I won't use them again.

We received some lovely flowers from Serenata flowers for looking after the GC during the lockdown and home schooling phase. They were fabulous.

WG try WD40 i use it for lots of things like that , you know when you get those horrible price labels on things , just a little squirt leave it for a few minutes then give a rub ,
A warm hair drier is good too as it heats the glue and makes it easier to remove

WD40 is great for cleaning chrome too , I spray a little on kitchen paper and wipe over light switches cooker parts taps etc , you don't need a lot .
Sleep will do OH good and it means you can get on with jobs

WeeGranny, you can buy special liquid for the stickers, I often use vinegar or white spirt, all work very well.
