Clover, all the plastic gets recycled. No more bags etc, we pay a deposit on the large plastic bottles, that we have always done, now we pay a deposit on the small (water etc) bottles.

Lizzie, the boxes look good, and great value.

Clover, we could do with a night of rain for the gardens!

Daisy, we usually set an alarm if we are going somewhere in a morning. We fear that will be the one morning we're not awake at 7! I hope you have had a good day 😊

I had breakfast in the garden, hung out some washing then went to the big Sainsbury's for a few things. It was cool in there so I took my time! I looked at all the clothes but didn't buy any.

Gem, this box was really good, very good value! It is always a surprise really, it is the first one I have had from the local Lidl.

Rain is forecast here most of the week, it is far too hot at the moment so may cool down. I hope it doesn't rain too much though for GD1, she is enjoying the holiday at the moment, DS1 just phoned, he is on his way to Munich for his work, almost a 10 hour drive. He went regularly before the lockdown but this is the first time he has been in 18 months.

Fairly warm here. Not done a lot today.
Bathroom cleaned and tidied everywhere else.
          Ironing done.

Just spent ½ an hour doing a bit of internet digging,to find an email address for nextdoor neighbours.
They said they couldn't find one, don't know if it will be any help to them.

We've been sat on the patio with a cuppa and a sandwich.
It felt eerie to me, like when you can sense a storm is brewing, although its warm.
Hubby couldn't feel it. Checked on our weather station and it says rain.

Gem - we set an alarm if we really do have to be up at a certain time for an appointment or something, but this was more relaxed so I didn't bother. I didn't expect to sleep till 9 am! We were only going over to collect their old barbecue to put in the bottom of our trailer, then we can fill it up with other stuff before taking it all to the tip later in the week (if we can get a slot). We had a cup of tea and a chat with them and the girls were excited to show us their new climbing frame plus den. They're sleeping out in the den tonight - I hope we don't have a storm! They're spending the day with us tomorrow - probably tired before we start.

We came back had lunch and a few minutes rest then it was time to go round to our neighbours to meet her mum and dad who have just moved into the village. We had a lovely afternoon, sitting in the garden having a chat and watching the children (aged 8 and 6) playing, and their two 'free range' floppy eared bunnies hoping around. Eva finds them very interesting from the safety (for the bunnies) of our side of the fence.

Came back, and cooked dinner, and am now ready for bed!

Nanto - that calm before the storm feeling is very odd, isn't it. It's like you're just waiting for the first big fat raindrops and the first clap of thunder. Did you fin the email address for your neighbour?

Lizzie - the veg box looks very good quality. Lots of enjoy in there.

Gem - it sounds as though you almost enjoyed your shopping! Were you tired after your busy day on the beach yesterday. How did S get on in the golf competition?

Plant - your family life is gradually getting back to normal! Pleased your DD and SIL are home safely. How exciting to have another wedding to plan. Let's hope this goes more smoothly than it did for GD1.

Oma - did B and GS1 see any cars they liked? Insurance is the killer for young drivers these days, isn't it. DS is ok - much the same. Thanks for asking about him. His recent blood tests etc were ok, and he's due for another scan sometime at the beginning of August - not sure when.

Clover - did you watch any of the Olympics today? It seems so strange having no crowds to cheer the athletes on.

                Nice sunny morning.

Daisy, i did find the email address for the neighbour. Don't know why they could'nt find it.
It was easy enough to find, it was the email for a local vet, where they had been with one of their dogs.
Apparantly, they want to complain about the treatment the dog didn't get and complain about the charges.
The vet said there was nothing wrong with him. Took him to another vet who did eamamination and scans.
It turns out poor Buster has stomach cancer.

Good morning, Nan to, that is not good, no wonder they want to complain!

It is so humid at the moment, with heavy showers, I went to take some boxes to the second hand place, called in at a shop for a few things I wanted then filled up with petrol on my way home. I have a Tenson parka, it is 100% waterproof, the only thing is when it is as warm as this it keeps the warmth in. Luckily I don't need it often, I got it when I had to pick GD2 up from school, I just got it and she decided she would see me in the car so I didn't have to wait outside the school for her..

DS1 had a long drive to Munich, 2 bad accidents on the road and he was stuck in the traffic twice, 60 minutes each time, he was tired by the time he arrived at 10pm but he will have had a good nights sleep, now to drive home again, I think on Wednesday.

Slept late this morning, stayed up a bit late to watch some of the triathlon. Sunny atm, I am planning to play bowls this afternoon. All three GGC and their parents were next door yesterday. DD and Sil had missed them so invited them all to lunch. I looked after baby H whilst her parents had their lunch.

I have to set an alarm too Daisy if I have to up early but usually wake up before the alarm

Need to get a move on so will pop back later.

Nanto how awful that poor dog , it could have been suffering for some time if they had taken that vets word for it , I would complain too

Plant i bet it was nice to see them all together and to have all the family home , Enjoy bowls hope you have a good game xx

                        Good morning all.

                        A lovely sunny start again.
Daisy that sounded like a lovely afternoon for you yesterday. No, I wasn't really tired after my beach day. It was all very relaxed and chilled, and not too hot. I rarely have much time with the GC when I'm not in charge as it were, so its always nice to be with them but not On Duty! Golf not so good for OH. The friend she was playing with has a much worse handicap than OH and was playing badly that day, so it made it hard.
I think stomach cancer may be hard to detect in animals Nan2. OH's cat had quite a few examinations and scans before it was eventually spotted, in an operation. She had to be put down there and then as it had spread That first vet should have done a scan on poor Buster.
That sounds a tiring drive for your DS Lizzie.
I hope you enjoy the bowls Plant.

Friends J and M are coming for lunch. It's a good forecast so I will lay the buffet on the dining room table in the cool and we will eat out on the patio.
                        Quiz tonight.
Enjoy your day and week everyone

Good Monday morning everyone. It's warm and sunny here, no rain forecast.

I've been and collected the GDs and Cooper for the day. The girls have had their second breakfast and are now watching the Olympics. They slept out in a tent in their back garden last night. The birds woke them up and they watched the sunrise, but they did go back to sleep. I think they are still quite tired though. No plans for today, we'll just go with the flow.

Gem - think you're right about stomach cancer being hard to detect in dogs. Poor Buster though. I know what you mean about not being On Duty with the GCs - much as we love them it's nice to be able to relax and just enjoy their company. Poor S - I bet she was disappointed about the golf, but I suppose everyone has their off days.

Enjoy lunch with your friends, and your quiz tonight. A busy day for you.

Plant - I bet your DD was delighted to have all her grandchildren together, and I'm sure you enjoyed looking after H while your GD1 had her lunch. Enjoy your bowls this afternoon.

Oma - it's the old, old story with Sainsburys - they never seem to be able to keep their shelves stocked, but it is worse than usual at the moment.

Lizzie - it sounds as though you need a good storm to clear the air and get rid of that heaviness. It's very wearing, isn't it. I smiled about the parks. It's typical you buy something for a particular reason and immediately that reason 'disappears'!! Still it's handy when it is very wet.

Your DS1 must have been really fed up with an already long journey being held up like that. Is there still no speed limit on the German autobahns? I hope the journey home on Wednesday is better.

Nanto - I love those flowers - I could just do with a jug of them on my desk by my computer. Well done on finding the vet's email address.

I hope everyone is is ok, and ready for another week of whatever comes along. xx

Daisy. In Germany there is a recommended speed limit of 130km on the autobahn, but, then again there is no speed limit.

Lizzie I hate the Autobahn , it scared the daylights out of me , B's aunt at 84 drives as fast as the youngsters ,
she is a very competent driver but it frightens me how fast they drive

Oma, I don't mind driving, but, not at that speed. When I rode a motorbike I must have frightened myself!
