I didn't know that Oma, sounds so much better to be able to wash the brushes out with water. Go for it Glamm

Plant, what a disgusting idiotic man.
Glamma, good for you with the decorating, its never too late to learn!
My mum always painted and did bits of DIY and I have always painted (But am rubbish at DIY!)
Pity about the picture Oma. I once ordered online a lovely print of lavender for my therapy room when I was starting my business. (my business was called The Lavender Room) It never went on the wall as when it arrived it was postcard size!!
GD and her friend had a lovely time. They went on the bus to town, GD's friend's mum sitting separably to them
She let them go off for an hour or so, phones fully charged. They bought things important to 11 year old girls. Over the knee socks, marbles, some magnetic Fidget things, beads for crafting etc! They went to Costa for takeaway drink and did lot of walking and chatting. Town is very quiet with almost nothing open.
GS2 had brought some of his birthday zoo. All the animals and few of the fittings. He played ALL DAY with them, including hiding all the animals (some minute) around the house for me to find! He watched a bit of C Beebies and we did some colouring together but otherwise it was zoos all the way.
OH is cooking spaghetti carbonara and has made coffee and walnut cake (my favourite) today, so a very nice meal to come.“A grandchild fills a space in your heart that you never knew was empty.” – Unknown

Plant - I'm glad you told that awful man his fortune! These scams are bad enough anyway, but when the caller gets abusive as well it's even worse. They'll take your temperature are the vaccination place, won't they, so I presume if it's normal they'll be happy to give you your second jab. Fingers crossed. xx
Glamm - you're doing great with your decorating. Take it easy and don't try and do too much. Pack up before you get too tired, so you have still got energy to clean brushes, paint trays etc. Have you got to move furniture and cover carpets up as well? Perhaps your GS1 could help with some of those jobs. Even though they're busy they might be able to give you a bit of help.
Before I met my OH is used to do all the decorating, DIY, gardening etc and even painted the outside. I still sometimes do the fiddly bits of painting - cutting in etc, then OH waves his magic roller over the rest in no time at all!
Gem - what a lovely time your GD must have had - just normal girly things but great to spend time with her friend and do a bit of shopping. Your GS2 loves his animals, doesn't he! I wonder if he'll eventually work with animals. I hope you and S enjoyed her spaghetti carbonara and the coffee and walnut cake. My mum had a fantastic recipe for C&W cake but I don't know what happened to it, and all the recipes I've tried don't even come close.
I don't know what happened to today - I don't seem to have achieved much. The list of chores I had in my head obviously wasn't that urgent!

Good morning everyone.
What pretty flowers Nan2!
Poor B Oma. I hope your bp is co operating today.
Daisy yes, GS2 really loves animals. He is dying to go to farm/wildlife park,/donkey sanctuary again!
Plant, how is your cold?
This afternoon is my weekly visit to my mum. Next week I will go back to Fridays, to fit in with school pick up. This morning I will go to mum's house to put out her garden waste bin. The first collection for her this year tomorrow, so we don't want to miss it. OH isn't playing golf until 11.30 today so may come with me. Apart from finalising the Sainsburys' order for tomorrow, nothing else on the cards today.
Happy Thursday everyone.

Good Thursday morning everyone.
Nanto - I love the flowers, too.
Oma - poor B. He'll be starving by the time he can next eat. I hope it all goes well, and your BP check this afternoon.
Gem - it's such a pity your GS2 doesn't live here - we have donkeys roaming the streets, as well as ponies and cattle. I hope you find your mum feeling well. I'm sure she must be looking forward to your visit. I wonder if she'll be wearing her new cardigan. xx
Plant - how is your cold this morning?
Our Sainsbury delivery's due in an hour, and I want to wash my hair and have a shower before then. The trouble with my hair being long is it takes ages to dry - I don't like to use the hairdryer every time I wash it.
I'll pop back later.

Good morning, still cold but not as much wind. I have been and done my shopping, I got a fuchsia at the Lidl yesterday and I have just got it planted.
Gem, I spent hours at the local childrens farm when the GD's were young, they both loved being there. I always enjoyed watching the pigs! Enjoy the time with your mum. I saw on the news last night that our shops, restaurants etc could be open on April 21st. I also saw that the Keukenhof will be open for a few visitors at a time, they have to have a negative test to enter, a few zoo's and Maduradam and applying the same rules
Oma, I hope B is ok, is the test tomorrow? Does he have to drink that awful liquid??? I have been to the doctors for my blood pressure, I have to go and get it measured twice a year, the first time was so high, I went and bought myself a monitor on my way home, tested it twice daily and it was perfect, back to the doctor, same story, high so I showed her my list and she said to take my own monitor to compare, that was yesterday, all went well, the readings were a little higher but at least both the same, the assistant was going to give my doctor the list, the doctor phoned me yesterday afternoon and told me my home testing is perfect, no worries there, it is just when I get it measured there it is high, apparently I am not the only one!Last edited by Lizzie48; 08-04-2021, 08:18 AM.

White coat syndrome Lizzie, Mine always goes up when the doctor or nurse take it.
Oma, I hope all goes well for B tomorrow, hate that stuff you have to take the day before. Also your BP check today.
I thought my cold was almost gone yesterday, wishful thinking, it is still with me today.
Gemini, your GD must have felt very grown up going shopping with her friend.
A future farmer in the family Gemini? Pity the New Forrest is a long way from you, GS2 would love it.What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Good Morning to a frosty day here very cold indeed.
There will be no painting in the glamma house until after lunch time as my youngest granddaughter is visiting this morning with her daddy they will be on their way to the park to feed ducks and play on swings,I can't take the chance of her getting paint on her clothes her mum would be very cross, she can have the watering can and water the plants for me then feed the birds at the bird table.
I just cant wait until April 12th when I can go and see my lady at the nail salon (purely selfish I know) and have new nails and my eyebrows done I just love the couple of hours I spend there I'll be an early bird and get to the front of the queue if I can,the earliest I can get to the hairdressers for a trim is 20th June as she is so booked up already my fringe resembles an old English Sheepdog at the moment .
I'm still keeping a look out to rehome a little dog with not much success all the dogs looking for rehoming seem to be Staffordshire Bull Dogs and are either to big or too strong for me to walk I just want something like Pops there where 2 x Maltese terriers from Romania offered for adoption and I really want to adopt from a Charity but they wanted a stupid amount of money for them I understand they have big running costs but this was quite a lot.
Oma such a shame you art work was not what you wanted was it for you lounge ? We have some really good outlets at Albert Dock Liverpool & also stalls in The Baltic Triangle past the Albert Dock you can get so many one off pieces of art work in these places at really reasonable prices I have a metal cat who sits on my back porch which J bought for me one year when we went to Albert Dock for the day. I do hope you find what you want. xxxKeep Calm,You're Fabulous

That will be it Plant,I panic when I get to the surgery!! Stupid really.
Glamm, that is a long wait for the hairdressers! It is a good idea not to start painting when GD is around.
A dog will come along one day for you, don't go for one that is too strong for you.
It is still very cold here, looks warmer than it is.

Glamm the right dog will come along , the one you are meant to have is out there just waiting for you
The Art work was a round metal plaque with the tree of life in the middle , looked so pretty and large but was small and cheap looking when it arrived

Gem hope your Mum is happy today , have you much more clearing to do at her bungalow ? when will you be putting it on the market ? xx
Daisy what is your latest painting is it a sea scape or nature ?
