Grauntie - how lovely. What a kind friend. I think someone (Nanto?) suggested a pinhole in the stem just below the flower to stop the head drooping.

EDIT - sorry, I replied before I'd read Gem's post!!

SECOND EDIT - or Nanto's!! I think I'll just go back to bed!!

      I'll start again!!!

Good Census Morning, everyone. Just think, in a hundred years people will be looking at our returns and going "ooo" "ahhh" " fancy that" - or perhaps not! I find the old Censuses really fascinating, and I wonder if ours will have the same attraction 100 years down the line. It's amazing how many jobs which were essential then don't even exist today.

Gem - I hope C has a good birthday tomorrow, and they don't overdo it with the decorating.

Oma - you've had a good clear out by the sounds of it. Just what "we" could do with (meaning my OH!!!). Are you pleased with your raised beds?

LOL Daisy, your false starts gave me a grin

Oma, C and and P are fully recovered now I think, although it took P a long time.
Daisy they have decorated almost the whole house since lockdown 1 (admittedly it is a small house!) and whichever room they are doing now is the last one to do. We have managed to do one small room this whole time!

Gem - well done - you've done one more room than us!

Going to do my census today. It will be strange that GS2 will go on Sil and DD's census as he is only here for a fortnight.

Oma, that does seem sensible to have one high bed for your plants rather than lots of pots.

My DD had her vaccine on Friday and was a bit off colour yesterday, her glands were up and she had a raised temp. but by midday she felt better.

GS1 popped in yesterday, he and his brother went for a walk with the children, their mother after 3 days teaching has already picked up a cold It is GGS's birthday tomorrow, he is getting excited and told us we could buy him presents. Sad really, it is his second birthday in lock down so no party. His parents are taking him to some outside venture playground. His father took his presents and cards from us.

I had a phone call from my hairdresser, appointment fixed for Wed fortnight.

Plant it does seem from all I have heard that the side effects for those who get them are fairly fleeting.
Your poor GGs. He will have a lovely day I'm sure though , and perhaps have a belated celebration in summer? My GS2 had his 4th birthday in lockdown just his mum, dad and sister, with the rest of us on Zoom. As it is April 4th by then garden gatherings are allowed so we will have rotas to see him this birthday. Not normal, as at 5 he would love a party with friends, but more normal!

Aww Im sure he will have a lovely day despite the lock down bless him xxx

Daisy yes the garden needs some colour and pots can be a pain in the bum plus the slightly raised beds means Storm fingers crossed wont dig in them but we will see ,

We got to tip at 8.45 the queue was so long it took just under two hours to get to front of the queue
The car was packed and the way our 's go is by car Reg numbers , odd one day even next so if we didn't tip today we couldn't go back till Tuesday , so had no choice but to sit it out .

I have hosed the back path and alley way , waiting for someone to pick the 1/4 ton bag of soil left up then i will hose the drive ,
We had to cover the soil till we get plants in as next doors cats are trying to use it as a toilet

Oma, that was a long wait!!! DS1 went here a while ago and he said he was straight in, I have seen queue's before though..
Your garden will look great with the raised beds. You will be needing these.

We have a shop here, I call it the cheap shop, a little like B&M, it has been closed since November I think, we can do click and collect now so I am going in the morning, DIL told me they are doing 20 minute shopping slots now, she went for 10 minutes a few weeks ago and said that was not long enough. I have booked a slot for the same time I pick my click and collect up so I am busy writing down what I want. Exciting!!!!!

Back home after another house hunting weekend. Hopefully it'll be the last! Found a house we both like, initial viewing on Friday went back Saturday for second viewing and have spent time with DD and SiL discussing our next move. I'm not saying any more, in case it doesn't happen, but feeling more positive about this one.

Not much traffic about on way home, which made for a good journey.

About to do the Census and get that out of the way before we tackle all the paperwork for the solicitor. Want to know what we will be leaving/taking etc etc! Could be a loooong afternoon! It's so long since we bought/sold a house that I'd forgotten all the ins and outs of it.

Enjoy the rest of the day ladies, whatever you're up to xx

Why do people waste your time

I advertised my TV unit for free and a lady said she would come at 3.30 for it said don't let it go to anyone else

Well she didn't turn up no text to say she wasn't coming or anything .

If she had changed her mind that's fine but the polite thing would have been to text and say so its not a problem but I could have put someone off for her ,

A young man text for the top soil and arrived on time so its not everyone who has bad manners , after all everything was free

Oma - I get really cross when you're offering something free like that - what a bargain! - and then they don't turn up. But then there are the really nice people who are clearly delighted and they make up for it. We still have to have appointments for our tip!

It's been a beautiful day here today. We took Eva to the paddock at lunch time and it was great strolling round in the sunshine. Loads more daffs were out - in fact the earliest one are starting to fade - but it looked beautiful. Eva's quite good about not running through them, luckily! We had to sunroof open on the car. I'm so glad it was the windscreen leaking not the sunroof.

I planted a pot of supermarket parsley out in to the raised bed we use for tomatoes. The flat leaved pot I put out a few weeks ago is growing nicely. It's so lovely to see things finally making progress.

                              Bright here this morning.

Lizzie, the flowers in the photo look beautiful.

WeeGranny, hope things go well for the move.

Oma, there is always someone that doesn't turn up,and don't have the manners to let you know.
It's happened to us a few times, and usually when we have changed our plans to suit them.

Mince and onion for dinner today, with mash, carrots and green beans.

Well,i'll get back to the kitchen.Washed all the cupboard and drawer fronts, going to do the tiles now, then the worktops, before i clean the floor.

Got a load of light washing in,looks like i will be able to get them out for a bit of a blow.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good morning, Nanto, it is the grower that I go to for my bedding plants etc. Garden centres are not open so they are doing really well.

I have been to my shop, very good, I was on my own, private shopping! I got all I wanted and as I left the next people arrived, I think 2 are allowed in at the same time. I have read that we can't expect any changes before June so it is a good idea.

Oma, some people, we have the same here, things on E bay they want, you agree then never hear anymore!
