        Such idiots Oma!

Cold day here too. We have stayed home and been busy with socially distanced visits! Far too cold for outdoors, so the conservatory with lots of ventilation and heating came into use, with OH and I in the dining room.

DD3 and SIL came this morning, and 2 friends dropped in after going tile shopping this afternoon.

I then organised 3 rounds of quiz questions in record time! We have also watched 2 episodes of The Crown.

DS1 gave me a (newer model) iPhone, I am very pleased with myself as I have got it all set up and it is working. With help from the internet. I enjoy doing things like that when they work!

            Oh well done Lizzie!

It's been cold here as well today. I haven't even taken Eva for a walk, and I don't think she minds - she doesn't want to go in the garden either though, so something will have to happen before bedtime!

I did one load of washing, portioned up some dog food, made bread and cooked dinner. All that was a real effort - I just don't feel like doing much at the moment, and the weather doesn't help either!

Lizzie - well done on getting your new phone set up on your own. I chickened out and got DIL2 to do mine - she knows far more about them than I do and had also just bought the same one herself.

Gem - what a good social day you had, despite the cold weather.

Oma - how funny, being scammed a day too early. Just shows what idiots they are!

Nanto - this wasn't the best day to tidy the freezer, so well done on your bravery.

Glamm - Oh dear, I can imagine the frantic drive through the Mersey Tunnel! Hopefully the traffic wasn't too bad with it being Christmas time. Perhaps the cold doesn't bother us when we're young, but I can remember I used to walk from the ferry up to Church Street where I worked, wearing hotpants and a flimsy mini coat. That wind was cruel.

The forecast for tomorrow doesn't sound great either.

As I haven't reported for duty since before Christmas I'm behind with everyone's news. How was Christmas for everyone.
Ours went better than we expected.

Its a bitterly cold morning here so far and we are expecting snow at some point today.

Oma you were alert noticing the wrong date on the text you received.

Anyone got any turkey left over , we are having turkey casserole today and tomorrow I should be able to use up the last of it along with the laet of the bacon, cauliflower and cheese to make a sort of cauliflower cheese. I have seen the recipe on the Internet, hopefully it isn't as weird as it sounds.

I hope to tackle the washing today and strip the bed

                Have a good day everyone

                  Snowing quite heavily now.

Mimi, the last of our turkey was made into pies with leeks and mushrooms, for the freezer.
A few slices have been frozen for sandwiches.
Our Christmas was good, but i like things getting back to normal now.

Good morning Mimi, Nan2, everyone passing through.
Good to hear from you Mimi, and that Christmas was better than you expected.

It snowed in the night here it seems, but now it looks like wet slush. Unsurprisingly the golf course if closed, so no golf got OH today. She's not sorry, it's not fun with the course so soggy. She has a pile of jigsaws calling to her too!
I planned to check my mum's house and turn up heating there when OH was playing golf. Maybe pop into Tesco on the way back. She may come with me now she is free.

I hope everyone is well today.

Stopped snowing now. Mam rang and told me not to bother going round in the snow, so I'm going tomorrow instead.

Aww, she's thinking of you and at least you know they are OK if you have spoken to her Nan2. You stay warm!

                          Morning ladies ,
Its freezing and we have wet slush too Gem ,
I was up during night and my heating kicked in at 3am so temp must have dropped a lot for it to switch on ,
Got Storm for a couple hours this morning and im starting to take down a few decorations ,
Doing it a bit everyday so its not to much work all in one go ,

Mimi good to hear you had a nicer Christmas than you thought ,

Nanto if the snow is heavy and in laws are ok best to stay in , im sure they will let you know if they need you .

Gem I wouldn't want to be walking around a golf course when its all wet and boggy , How did the quiz go ?

Have a safe day ladies i will pop back later xx

Good morning ladies. I think we had a bit of slush in the night - but only on the bird table!! Everywhere is so wet, it's like living in a swamp. I don't think it's quite as cold as yesterday which is a bonus.

Mimi - sometimes when we think things will be bad they're actually much better than we could have hoped, but it does look as though you were having a sleepless night last night. Will you get a nana-nap today?

Oma - I bet Storm will be happy with this cold weather!

Nanto - it was good of your MIL to ring and say they were ok, and I'm sure you'd rather not have to go out in the snow.

Gem - poor S, I'm sure she will miss her golf, but in these conditions it can't be much fun. Perhaps she'll enjoy a trip out with you to your mum's. I hope the quiz went well.

Leftover turkey? Mine is still all nicely wrapped up and sitting in the freezer! I bought a small crown just in case we couldn't go to DS1's, so hopefully I can save it until we are allowed to have a proper family get together. Easter, maybe?

I really want to take Eva to the paddock for a run round today, but it's raining hard off and on and the ground is soaking wet. I don't want her to be tearing up the grass paths, so may be it will be a paddle in the forest instead.

                            Stay warm and safe, everyone.

Stopped snowing and the sun is shining.
With not going to in laws i will do tomorrows jobs today.
Want to change the bedding and clean upstairs.

My DS usually has loads of friends around on Boxing Day for home made curries but alas not this year but yesterday Dil and GS3 turned up in the drive with 2 Biryanis and a pair of trousers needing repairing.

DD has just been in to tell me that GD1's partner has been informed he has been in contact with a person who has tested positive so he has to isolate until Friday. We think he would be showing symptoms by now, he was in contact last Friday. I do hope he is okay with the baby due in Jan.

Nanto, that was thoughtful of your in-laws not wanting you to go to theirs as the weather is bad your way. We are still, fingers crossed, only experiencing mist and frost.

Tomorrow is the funeral of my friend who died just before Christmas and we have been informed that they are screening the service. Under normal circumstances I would have attended the funeral but I am not sure if I want to watch it if I can't be there. I shall miss her very much, she lost her OH a few years ago and we used to go to the cinema and clothes shopping together.

Oma, I am thinking of starting to take my decs. down, I only have a few precious ones to wrap unlike you having to wrap all those soldiers. I do like to leave my cards up for a bit longer.

Daisy, it looks like a paddle around the forest for you and Eva. Sil, DD and GD2 have just gone off for a walk but the fields and woods are very muddy. As for me, I am not dressed yet.
