Good morning, Nanto and all who drop in for a mincepie and chat later.

It's not too bright here - very wet but not actually raining at the moment. I'm off to collect Cooper and OH has to go down to Lymington to collect 'something' the postman couldn't deliver because it has a £2 surcharge. It's probably an unstamped Christmas card, and I'd be tempted to leave it. We're trying to be extra careful and now he has to do a 10 mile round trip to the delivery office to pick up something! I hope it's not too busy there.

    Back later.

EDIT - we posted together, Gem. I hope the dentist goes ok, and your ex neighbour will be delighted to see you, I'm sure.

Nanto Good morning to you too

We popped to our little Morrisons this morning , I needed fruit , was down to two Oranges and a couple of dodgy Apples
Said we didn't need anything else , came out £37 worse off

Oma, I think we feel we need a few treats to cheer us up.

Gemini, well done for winning the quiz, getting quicker with typing the answers.

Pleased to have you back Sunshine.

Nanto, I don't think I have ever had a coconut tart, it sounds very sweet.

I am going to be Father Christmas today, dropping presents off at DS's family and GS1's family. I will ring them first and put them on the doorstep. Then I will call at the Farm Shop to pick up fruit and veg. they only allow about 4 people in, if there is a big queue I might just leave. Managed to get my hearing aid fixed yesterday, so pleased to hear clearly again. We are having Zoom meetings with family on Christmas Day as will a lot of other families.

Daisy, wondering how your DS is, will you be at home Christmas Day now?

Good morning, a little brighter here than yesterday, it rained all day long!!! Well done with the quiz Gem!

Plant, good luck with the parcel delivering and the farm shop! I was at the Lidl at 7-30am and it was getting busy, but, the huge one at the other side of the village wasn't open as there was a robbery at closing time last night.

I pressed the wrong key and lost my way!

GD2 has asked me to order her something from Amazone, something she REALLY wants!!!

I will catch up on the rest later as I can't see the posts!

I had a lovely outdoor chat with my friend when I dropped off his card. We went to a cafe round the corner which has a table and 2 chairs outside, perfect for us! I was a bit worried he would get too cold but he said he was fine. We will do it again in the new year.
DD3 is coming this afternoon for us to exchange presents. She will sit in the conservatory. What a social day I am having Friends dropped off a present while we were out (OH is playing golf) so that would have been another social gathering, on the drive if we were in!

Gem - I'm glad you've have such a social day - they're few and far between for all of us these days, so I's good to hear about somebody seeing friends and family (safely!). xx

I seem to have had a bitty day - doing bits of this and bits of that. I put a load of ironing away, washed towels, cleaned the main bathroom and most of the kitchen. I'm making tags for presents (nothing like planning ahead, two more sleeps before Christmas!) I ordered a box of small wooden blanks - stars, Christmas trees and bauble shapes, and I'm going to pyrograph names on to them and maybe a little pattern if I have time. Painting took over from pyrography this summer, so I haven't done any for a while. I hope to finish them off tomorrow and if it all goes pear shaped I can use ordinary tags.

                    How are you all.

We have Tesco delivery today, it will be interesting to see what items are out of stock. I don't mind if there isn't any salad, apparently panic buying as kicked in again but I won't be happy if there is no milk .
I know Kent has become a huge lorry park again but forgoodness sake we do grow a lot food ourselves, is there ny need to panic buy sprouts.
I can remember many years ago the French used to block the ports with protests of the UK importing meat into France but it's understandable why they aren't letting the lorries in at the moment because of covid.

Any way , world troubles aside, how are your Christmas plans coming together. As our normal Christmas has been postponed there isn't much to do here .
DS is popping by tomorrow to drop off and pick up his presents but he won't be coming inside. It will all be done in the garden.
Not sure when other DS and DIL will be up but I know for certain it won't be when DS is here . I can't see a time when my children will ever be together ever again.

Good grief Oma, £37 for apples and oranges 🤣

                    Have a good day everyone
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Good morning Mimi. No paricular plans for Christmas here.
All our shopping is done. Not going to the supermarket this week.
The only thing i will need is more milk.
We will get this from the post office/shop. I like to do a bit to help them keep going.

                      Raining this morning.
Just been pottering doing little jobs.Do one job and leads to another.

                        Good morning everyone.

What a lovely graphic Mimi. I hope you get everything in your Tesco delivery.
                        Daisy, the tags sound lovely.

Today is the grandchildren's Christmas party at Grandmas. I did one for them at Halloween. Such a strange year for children, and my GC can't officially see each other in their homes, so just meet outside. As I look after them all each week, a 'childcare afternoon' is a way for them to be together.
We are having pizza delivered. There will be cakes. We have a gingerbread cottage to construct together. GD's prediction which I see as entirely accurate is that she will do most of the work and her cousin will devour most of the cottage asap! I will take a photo first. I have prepared a treasure hunt around the house, and we'll do Kim's Game which I loved as a child. Musical crackers for teatime. Hopefully a fun afternoon.
This morning I will make some buns and hide the treasure hunt clues.
The manager of my sister's home is dropping in to collect her presents from the family this morning. So I will get up shortly!

                        Have a good day ladies.

Good morning, rain again here! Gem, you have a busy day with the GC. You will all enjoy it.

Mimi, I hope you get the milk in the order, everything is available here, at least I think it is. I went with DS2 yesterday to pick his van? up from the garage, there is a huge Makro (Metro)? opposite, at the moment they allow you in without a card, it was so busy! They sell everything so people are going there as the shops are closed.

I have just sold 2 dolls for GD2, got them packed and brought to the depot, not many are open, this one is in a supermarket so I phoned them last night and the depot is open.

I am going to hoover through and see what the weather is like this afternoon.

The men were coming to do the lift today, must have changed the plans as there is no-one here.

                            Good morning ladies ,

Lizie we have a huge Makro about 5 minutes drive away , they doing the same thing letting people in without a card , we don't often go but when we do we use our SIL's business card .

Gem wish I was at yours today sounds a really good day , What is Kim's game ? never heard of it before ,
Nice of the home to collect the gifts isnt it xx

Nanto love the caterpillar , same here all shopping done no need to go out .

Mimi families are strange , my DD and DS haven't seen each other for a two years now and we haven't seen our youngest two GC since this day last December ,
Our DS just stopped bringing them and with DIL the way she is he is unlikely to now so we just have to deal with the situation , not easy but what can you do .

Your DSs are grown up they have to sort it you cant do a thing so don't worry about them lv xxx

Well I was up early and did housework , put a dark load in and then a little washable rug I have in the downstairs loo ,
I should call it a morgue its so cold you could keep dead bodies in there in the winter even with the heating on

I then rang my sister we talked for over a hour so good to hear her voice even if I cant see her , so many things different this year , things we always did like visit her Christmas eve day etc ,
I then cleaned my glass tables waited till it got light so I could see them better , Storm kept sniffing them yesterday and licking them so they were yet again Snotty

B in the kitchen starting the Jaffa cake for Christmas day , takes a couple of days to do with different components needing to set , smells lovely though all the fresh squeezed Oranges
He wasn't going to do one this year but SIL said it would spoil his Christmas if he didnt get one
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Lizzie, are you still having to walk up the stairs?

Gemini, that sounds lie a fun time your GC are going to have today.

Daisy, like the sound of those tags.

Mimi, what a shame for you that your DS's will not mix, makes it difficult for you.

I am going to make some Blinis today for Christmas morning, apart from that I might, might, push the cleaner around but there is always tomorrow, plenty of time as we are in lockdown.

Plant, if the men are doing the lift we do have to walk up the stairs, 5 flights!!!

Mimi and Oma, families can be difficult to understand. My friend hasn't seen, or spoken to, her eldest daughter for 5 years and I don;t think she ever will.
