Hi everyone not been on for a little while, various reasons a bit fed up but it’s getting to Christmas and I’m ready for that want to see my family around me for extra cushioning.
My Botox was cancelled yesterday so many staff off sick they have had to cancel the clinic now going in January 😥 but I have to get on with it .
Though I am feeling better but have to go through the same rigmarole in January , phoned the doctor she isn’t in whilst tomorrow and with Xmas in between these antibiotics need sorting as the date is 4 th and they are opening a clinic on a Saturday as so many of us waiting for this procedure .
Gem what bad luck for you with the car think it makes you feel actually nauseous when this happens and it’s so easy done when things are on your mind .
So many poorly folk to mention hope you get better for Xmas , struggling a little with OH it’s no good saying look at other people’s dilemmas it doesn’t sink in, but he did go with us to the lights a few streets away after picking up the twins from school yesterday and felt better for it .
Nice to hear Enfys that you feel well rested and ready to enjoy the festive season .
Clover chin up good days are lesser now than bad days life is a sod sometimes sending love .
Lizzie isn’t it funny how we talk to you in Holland yet your sil is here in Leeds where I live !
Nanto hope all is going ok with the old dears your a brilliant dil
Ive done a lot of food shopping today turkey and sides bought but a Tesco delivery due on Monday , I shall be at a panto in the afternoon , oh yes I will but OH says he will deal with it .

Oma my DD3 has been poorly for a few days and been sick. She's feeling really washed out. Lots of bugs about just now. I hope B soon feels better.
Clover I am really struggling with my mum's increasing short term memory loss and degree of confusion. For it to be your beloved husband has to be so much worse. I hope tomorrow is a better day for you both.
Qwerty, I'm sorry about your botox being cancelled.
Nan2 , I'm glad you realised that FIL wasn't taking his tablets.
Plant I hope the more vigorous aqua hasn't tired you out.
              Welcome back Enfys

Thanks Oma, yes we got it all done. Mum's parcel collected from sorting office, her shopping done, and my sister visited and presents and cards taken. Mum must have asked me at least 20 times while we were there if we had given the presents and cards. Much patience is needed.
The man who assessed the car said this morning it was probably on the borderline of being scrapped as the engine is fine. I drove home with no warning lights coming on so I guessed it was. With the other damage and age of the car though he's pretty certain they will scrap it. We are on the look out for another.

Plant - thank you for the link to Tom Way's website. He's obviously a very patient man to do wildlife photography - I particularly like his black and white images and use of what's called negative space (ie empty spaces within a photograph). It's always interesting to see good photography. I hope you're not aching after the strenuous Aqua on Wednesday. How's your tooth?

Nanto - your FIL is naughty not taking his pills. I can understand him being fed up with taking them, but they do have a purpose.

Clover - I'm so sorry G is having a bad day. Is there any reason that you can work out? Mind you the weather is so dreadful, it's enough to upset all of us today. We'd got all the lights on by 1.30 - then we had a power cut. There's a huge amount of flooding in the village with whole areas under water - not houses fortunately. OH has gone to the wood turning club Christmas party with a friend. I hope it stops raining or they might have to do a long detour to get back into the village. I had to drive very carefully coming back from DS2's this afternoon. It was pouring with rain and high tide. And it's been thundering for good measure. Not good at all!

Enfys - welcome home. I'm glad you and P have enjoyed your little break. You were lucky with the weather - as you can probably see, we've had plenty of the wet stuff.

Oma - good to hear B is on the mend, although I'm sure it wasn't the best time for visitors. He'll start to feel better when he gets his appetite back. Could I tempt him with some flambee' d tomatoes? Storm's social life is better than mine. HaHa

Oh dear, so many people down with these bugs. Much as I hate it I think we need some hard frosts to kill the bug(***)s off. Gem - I hope DD3 is soon better.

Qwerty - what a nuisance, your Botox being cancelled. January seems a long time to be waiting in pain and discomfort. xxx I hope the family will help J to feel more relaxed and positive. It's hard on you both.

Gem - I'm really sad for you about your car. Whatever they decide I hope they get on with it quickly for you. xx You're very patient with your mum - it must be harder some times than others though and today sounds like one of those days. xxx

So sorry to read about all the illnesses. I really am. Clover you need the patience of a saint caring for your hubby. Sadly I missed the Altzheimers' Carol Concert last week & they normally ask for feedback by email afterwards. I said I couldn't this yr & gave the reason.

I had the loveliest, caring reply back saying not to worry & that she hoped I'd make next yr's. She then said if ever I need help or someone to talk to to contact her anytime. I'm telling you this because I wonder if you are getting any support from an Altzheimer's group? It might just help you to offload on a bad day like today. You need help too Clover. Sending (((hugs))).

I'm sure i posted on here last night. Maybe i didn't press reply.

Oma, hope B is feeling better.
Qwerty, hope you and OH are both feeling perkier soon.

You will all know by now where i'm going later.

Gem, good to hear you got everything done yesterday.
Hope you find another car soon.

Good morning, Nanto. That looks like a nice cheery cuppa to start the day. Usually if there's a post 'pending' it will give you the option to Cancel or Restore. Restore's saved me from many retypes when our internet was very dodgy. I do hope your in laws are still making progress. Thank goodness FIL has got back on board with his pills.

It's too dark to see when the weather's doing yet, and Eva hasn't asked to go out! I'm off to collect cooper again shortly. DS2 and DIL are busy with the shop - there was a queue out of the door when I went to collect Coops yesterday, but like many business the Christmas trade is vital to their survival. Coops was in disgrace yesterday! The doctor had given OH Ventolin and a plastic chamber to see if it would help his breathing. The silly so-and-so hasn't got round to using it yet, but he left it on a low table in the hall. I didn't notice it, but Cooper did. I wondered why he was quiet!!!

I'll try and get the ironing done today - hopefully that's it then for this year! (Fat chance, I know) and I'm having a go at making a wreath! First time. I needed some branches of a tree at the bottom of the garden, but it was too wet to get them yesterday.

I hope all our poorly ladies and their loved ones are feeling a bit better today, and it will be a better day for Clover's G. Sending hugs. xx

Daisy sorry but had to laugh I could imagine Cooper having a good chew and Eva saying she's keeping out of the way like a good girl while he was being naughty

B much better today , we popping to the shopping centre before it gets busy just want a few things so should be in and out in no time ,

Have a good day ladies I hope everyone is feeling ok xxxx

                          Good morning ladies,

Nan2 I have occasionally had that happen. Its a strange feeling when you feel sure you posted and there is nothing!
I hope you get the wreath made Daisy. For several years OH made ours for the front door. Last year however we bought a ready made one with little lights on from M and S.
Good to know B is much improved Oma.

It is the end of term here, and I imagine everywhere else.
DD picks up GD on the last day of this term every year, as there is a carol concert in the village church which parents can go to, then they finish early.
GS2 will be with me all day, we shall have a nice day. Once it is dark we intend to take him to the local Christmas lights one more time, and he loved them so much last week. DD and GD are stopping off for an end of term hot chocolate on the way home. Hopefully his mum and sister coming to our house will be enough to tempt him away

                          Have a good day everyone.

Food shopping for me today, apart from that I hope to make GD2 and GS3 some mince pies, they requested some when they came home for Christmas. I want to take the presents to DS and Dil's family as we will not be seeing them until Boxing Day.

I must try to go and see some Christmas lights Gemini, one or two houses have a lovely show. Sorry to read that you are certain your mother's memory is getting worse. Amazing how it effects different people. My memory isn't good, especially dates and times but my sister who is 91 is still sharp at remembering everything. Names, my awful weekness, no problem for her. Health not good but nothing wrong with her brain.

Daisy, how will your OH explain that the dog ate the inhaler. I have a wreath that goes up every year, I just tweak it a bit and hang it up.

Pleased to hear B is feeling better Oma, don't let him overdo things.

Clover, sorry to hear you had a bad day with G, I am sure you are looking forward to seeing the family after Christmas. How do you cope with the journey?

Plant my aunt, who will be 91 next week has a sharp memory too.
Good news about no in-law dramas Nan2! Long may it last.

A lovely day with GS, and a little time with GD and DD when they arrived. It has poured down all day so we didn't go to see the lights again. The usual Want To Stay at Grandmas sobbing when it was time to leave I'm afraid, but at least no tantrums and refusing to put shoes on. I will see him in 2 days time anyway!
I only have GS1 and my mum's presents left to wrap, which I will do tonight then I can take mum's tomorrow.
My car definitely has a death sentence. It would cost £3000 to repair (hard to believe but so they tell us) As it cost me £4000 eight years ago, it is obviously not feasible. It is being taken away on Tuesday morning.
Everyone who knows me knows how much I love that car. It is the only car I have ever chosen - make, model and colour. Before that I had to have whatever small automatic I could afford and was available. We searched for this one.
But I am generally not materialistic, things don't really matter, so I will get over it!
