Good morning ladies. It's mild and quite sunny here at the moment. I hope it lasts.

I have a few jobs to do this morning - exciting stuff like washing! Then we're going round to friends to exchange Christmas presents and enjoy a drink together as they will be away visiting family for Christmas.

After that, we'll get on with wrapping presents, and I want to prepare materials for my GDs to make a Christmas decoration for their mum and dad tomorrow. They love decorating Mum and Dad's bedroom for 'occasions' and their poor parents are still sleeping with the ghouls and ghosties from Hallowe'en! I thought a twiggy tree with baubles might be a good idea. We'll see, but I need to get all the materials sorted out before they arrive tomorrow.

    Happy and peaceful Sunday, everyone.

Good morning, sunny but cold here this morning.

Clover, I’ve said it before it’s a shame we’re not nearer but you know we all care about both of you. It’s strange how we find strength when things are tough but you need looking after too so do take care. (((Hugs))))

I am waiting to FaceTime DS in Australia then I might go for a walk, I need to build up my stamina again so am aiming for at least a 30 minute walk every day. Not doing very well so far. We watch the news of the fires in Australia with dread but luckily DS etc are not near any of them although the smoke affected flights from Adelaide airport which is where DS works. DD goes to visit them and DGD in January, she is not looking forward to the extreme heat they are having at the moment. They could really do with some of our rain.

Presents are wrapped and under the tree, cards posted so there is not much left to do now. Have a good day everyone 🌞

Enfys, I was thinking of your family in Australia, and a friend of ours is heading there tomorrow, hopefully nowhere near the fires.
Daisy, your DS and DIL are good sports. Your GDs will remember that sort of thing always.
I hope all is well with your in laws Nan2.

Sounds like great fun for your GD's Daisy, you are a wonderful GM. Your GD's will remember the fun times they had with you.

My Sil's sister has organised a family gathering lunch at our local restaurant today, I have been included. At the last count there will be at least 25 of us.

I must start doing some batch cooking to fill my freezer, it could do with a defrosting first.

Have a lovely face time with your family Enfys, must be a relief they are not affected directly by those awful frightening fires.

Morning ladies , everyone seems busy doing lovely things this morning ,
I have the door mats in the washer , I know mad or what

They are those ones that supposed to attract dirt from your shoes and they are washable , trouble is I have to hang them in my airing cupboard this time of year and it takes a couple of days to dry them , no idea why I thought today would be a good idea to wash them

            its cold but dry ,
I do hope anyone under the weather are feeling a bit brighter today and all those visiting or baking are having a lovely day

            Take care ladies xxx

Hallo from a warm and damp Holland! I have just managed to order a new passport, been debating between a UK one or a Dutch one, but, always had the UK one so will stick to it. Need to post them my old one, it will cost me a fortune by registered post.

Quiet for me today, DS2 and partner came for a meal last night, I am going to their house on Boxing day for brunch, he is a keen cyclist and at the moment is enjoying riding through the woods, all mud and the puddles. Christmas Eve I am going for a meal to DS2, they are now away for a few days, in Antwerp and Zeeland, home later on today.

I managed a bike ride to Rotterdam on Thursday morning to the Euromast, windy going but with an electric bike that is no problem.

I hope all the people with bugs are feeling better, a lot of them going around here at the moment. Could do with a keen frost to kill all the bugs, doesn't look like happening though.

I have sorted a few cupboards out, I have the habit of getting items in bulk, just in case I need them! If items are on offer I will get more than I need. Thrown quite a a few items away ( well 2 old tins of Nivea), so won't bother again. We have a good (cheap) shop here, a bit like B&M?. It is called Action, started off in a small way, now very populair. I have just been there on the bike for some small containers to store things in.

                  Afternoon all .
By heck I will be glad when Tesco grocery shopping is delivered tomorrow as the fridge and bread bin is looking rather empty. There are two crumpets in the bread bin and some milk, two small yogurts, milk and a chicken breast (defrosting for me to make Chicken Supreme tomorrow) .
I feel like old mother Hubbard at the moment!

So sad to see that there is a young man missing here. He is a married man with , what looks like a baby due anytime now. His poor wife is distraught with worry. Sadly in this area over the years at this time of year it isn’t unusual. A mixture of drink and cold weather is a dreadful combination.
Hopefully he is found safe and well.

Hope all our our ladies are well.
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Well the sunshine hasn’t lasted sadly! It poured yesterday and we ended up in the pub before going out for a lovely meal. Only downside was that the restaurant is up aco cobbled street and it’s quite steep. OK going up not so good coming down! Made it without any mishaps 😀.. Today has been dry but a bitterly cold wind is coming off the Danube now. Planning to go to Vienna tomorrow by train. Hope everyone has a good evening x

Evening from a knackered old lady lol, the kids arrived about lunch time, lunch was served g/d wanted a plain omelette and g/d requested a ham sandwich followed by choccie biscuits. Played for a while then present shopping it’s surprising when someone is spending their own money it went a long way although after J spent his £9 out of &10 he wanted to know where the ten pound note had gone think he was in shock but he is only five but welcome to the real world my darling . A silly thing happened at the checkout the twins bought several presents for mum and dad some things candles, choc they know dad likes beer he’s a fan of real ale and you can buy these bottles of beer individually, so they picked what they wanted one was LEEDS old ale and Grumpy man ale , I know where they are coming from. Told the lady on the till they wanted to pay separately as they were buying their own Xmas gifts , so Js went through ok he paid and got some change , when M put hers through with the beer she refused to let them have it, now I know they can’t sell alcohol to under 18s but as a grandma she could see we were altogether good lord the kids are 5 , I said “ but it’s obvious they are not going to drink it” she still refused and M bless her was stood holding her ten pound note, the people behind me were gobsmacked at her, in the end I put M money back in her purse got mine out and said I would pay she accepted that , I then took Ms little bag and put her bottles in the bag and said to the woman what’s the difference .
Baked 35 cookies with them this morning after their bath they iced them and put sprinkles on, we then painted our nails including g/s , DS and dil came for them at lunch time today stayed and had a cuppa when they left I slept for 2 hrs .
Ill be back later we have visitors 🥴

Gosh, you have been busy bees today - and so have I. I'm just going to write a couple of labels for presents and then I'm going to bed. I've got to be out early in the morning to collect GDs and Cooper. I'm even too tired to chat.

On the 'decorations for mum and dad' front - OH and I made a great twiggy branch from the apple tree, firmly anchored on a piece of his best wood, and then decided it was far too large for where it was intended. So I've spent some time organising other things for the girls to make tomorrow! I just need to sort out paints before I go in the morning.

                            Night night everyone.

                              Evening All,
sounds like fun in your house tomorrow Daisy, can I come too?
We have had a lazy weekend here which is just as well as I haven’t felt too bright this week. I feel better today having slept for 11 hours last night!
Oh those cakes Nanto2! They look delicious.
Not surprised you are a ‘knackered old lady’ Qwerty! I was knackered just reading about your doings.
Have a good trip to Vienna WG.
I hope you had a jolly lunch Plant.
The views from the Euromast look incredible Lizzie, I read that it is 300 metres high. It makes my legs go wobbly to think about it.
Glad to read your family are safe Enfys.
Mimi I really hope your shopping turns up otherwise you will have to eat grass as my Ma would say. 😆 I suppose you could spread the yoghurt on the crumpets for a tasty snack.
                              Enjoy the panto Gem.
I’m off to bed, James Bond or not. Out to friends for coffee and mince pies in the morning so I need some beauty sleep.
                              Good night all, sleep well.
