Gem - you posted while I was typing. Did you get a good night?

Enjoy your reflexology - it sounds as though it's come at just the right time for you. xx

OH is still asleep. He's very good at sleeping when he's under the weather and 'sleeps himself better'. He can have a quiet day today and hopefully by tomorrow his eye will be feeling better and the inhaler will help his breathing. Fingers crossed. It's his wood turning Christmas party on Thursday evening, but a friend in the village has offered him a lift, which is great. I go to it sometimes, but I need the evening at home this year!

Both GDs are still not well and when I spoke to DIL earlier she said they were probably not going to school. Their Mum and Dad are being very good about not letting us catch this horrible bug, so I've got a 'day off' today. I've got just a couple of cards to write, plus local ones. If the weather's ok I might walk Eva round the village to deliver them. I need some fresh air and exercise.

Daisy, your day off will do you good, but of course I'm sorry your GDs are unwell.
I hope your OH is well enough for the party, and good that you won't have to turn out.
I had quite a good night, but was awake reading at 5.50 when I wanted to stay asleep!

OH has the fun Christmas golf competition today, when they wear something festive and OH strings Christmas lights on her golf bag! It is extremely foggy here so I hope it has cleared for the 10am shotgun start.

Gem - I hope the fog clears and OH enjoys her fun golf competition. At leat they will be able to see her with her golf bag lit up!

The sun has just risen here - there's no fog and the clouds are high and not heavy, so fingers crossed we'll get a nice day.

Nanto, I hope you get some help with your in-laws, you certainly are a caring DIL.

Lizzie, what a busy lady you are, you must be very fit. Riding bicycles in the UK is a bit of a dangerous pastime.

Enjoy your reflexology Gemini, I hope it is more relaxing for you this time.

Can't say I am completely pain free, the dentist was more concerned that she cleaned it out and packed it with a dressing to avoid another infection until I have it out. I am seriously thinking of stopping my prolia injections to avoid all this happening again. Goodness knows what the specialist dentist will charge to remove it.

Plant it's an awful saying I know but Dad used to say "There's no pockets in shrouds love". If I'm ever debating shall I spend a high sum of money, I hear those wise words of my Dad. I would imagine it will be worth every penny for you Plant.

Sorry I can't reply to everyone, bit weary. Off to hairdressers 1ish. Love that bit of pamper time. Always take a bottle of wine too at Christmas, so must remember to take it & her card. The rest of the day I'm sewing Harry Potter bunting as an extra birthday gift for youngest GS. For those interested, the quilt is still on the back burner.πŸ˜‰

Morning ladies , we have total white out its so frosty ,
Went to Aldi and Matalan early , its freezing cold not many people ventured out yet the car park was almost empty ,

Gem its annoying when you cant sleep and you kow you could really do with another hour or so , hope the fog lifts for S and she has a good game ,

Daisy fingers crossed J gets to his party , etter the GD's have this bug now if they have to have it than next week bless them , enjoy your free day ,

Plant I hope it settles down maybe the messing about has disturbed it and it will be ok in a day or two xx

Mimi the mind plays tricks doesn't it , it keeps going at 90 miles a hour when all you want it to do is shut up and let you sleep

Nanto glad you got to see GD last night gives you a break from nursing in laws , you need to be telling one of your SIL's you need some help , you are so good with them and the patience of a saint I think xxx

Lizzie its hard when your grand children start to do things on their own and your no longer needed as such but think of all the free time you will get

Nana I was wondering about the quilt enjoy your pampering xxx

DD rang early this morning to see if we could go round and let the Dog in , D&J have him today but couldn't get there till 11 and SIL had gone to work not knowing dog was in the garden , he hadn't even checked he was in or not

DD was furious with him , not that Storm would be bothered this time of the year he will stay in the garden all day , the colder the better , but as DD said SIL hadn't even checked in case Storm had escaped out when he or GS1 had left the house , I can imagine the ear bashing he got

Went to in laws this morning. They were both a little bit better.
Both of them have a little bit to eat.
Sil eventually came,so i left her to it.
She had to be at work for 1'oclock so i'm going round with hubby in about Β½hour to make them a warm drink.

Got a lot of catching up to do on here.

Nanto - I'm pleased to hear your in laws are a bit better, and that your SIL was able to give some help.

Oma - gosh you're certainly getting more wintery weather than us spoilt southerners. Yes, definitely better to get the bugs out of the way this week, but of course DS and DIL are mega busy in the shop. DS has stayed home again today, on the basis that it's easier for him to catch up with his work which is mainly computer-based. GD1 has gone back to school today, and I've said I'll have Cooper on Thursday or Friday to give them some time in the shop without his eager but not very useful "help" LOL Oh dear - I'm sure your SIL will be in trouble, leaving Storm out in the garden, even though Storm wouldn't mind. there are so many dog thieves around these days, it's a big worry.

Nana - none of us can keep up with posts at times, and you've had more than your fair share of busyness just lately. I hope you enjoyed your bit of pampering. The quilt will keep till you've got time and energy to devote to it. In a way it's nice to know you've got a project in progress ready to pick up when the moods takes you.

Plant - I do hope the treated tooth settles down. As Oma says, getting it fixed is money well spent. xx

Well, we've got the tree up - not decorated yet, but it's a start, and I've cleaned the living room and hall to within an inch of their lives, put cards up and got some nice scented Christmas candles out, so it's starting to smell like Christmas, or a newly-cleaned bathroom - not sure which!! It's the Christmas party at dog training tonight. The only time the trainer gives the dogs treats (she's very hot on them bonding with their owners, not her) and they get a huge sausage, which they're expected to ignore until told they can have it. As you can imagine, most fail, but being Christmas they get the sausage anyway!

OH is feeling a bit better. He stayed in bed till lunch-time, but his eye's looking quite normal and he feels a bit better generally.

Hope Eva enjoys her sausage Daisy, I hope she is good for you and waits to be told she can have it. Pleased to hear your OH feels better for his sleep and is able to go out this evening.

Gemini, I hope S enjoyed her golf in spite of the foggy course. I hope you are feeling okay and had a good relaxation.

Wouldn't like to be your Sil Oma.

Been to JL this afternoon with GD1, she wanted a present for a friend who is expecting a baby in the new year. I was pleased I was able to find a small black bag to use when I don't really want to take a larger bag. We had a nice soup lunch.

Daisy the garden thankfully has very high fence and is surrounded by other gardens so any dog thief would have quite a lot of climbing to get in ,

My friend DD's MIL was supposed to have him today but she has come down with this sickness bug so DD just came home and worked from there , we would have gladly had him though ,
We were supposed to go for tea tonight with friends but obviously with a sickness bug that's not possible . hopefully she will be ok for Saturday as she myself and DD are going to see the new Cats film

Good to hear J feeling better than he was ,

Plant how is the tooth now ?

I had to smile at the thought of S walking around the golf course with her golfclub bag decorated with fairy lights😁 I had visions of everyone following her if it was a misty/foggy morning.

Pleased to hear your in-laws are feeling a bit better Nan2 & your OH Daisy. I'm taking it steady with the quilt & aiming to finish it for GD's Feb birthday now. I enjoyed my haircut & wash etc. She gave us a christmas card too. I was surprised when I opened it later to find a voucher for Β£5 off any treatment. How kind.

Going to GS2's Carol service first thing tomoro then to Cannon Hall Farm to pick up a few Christmas bits. Their sherry pickled onions were lovely last year. We'll eat there too. Aiming to keep busy as DD1 gets her results tomoro 11:15ish.🀞😘

                                Good morning everyone.
Today is another day as they say. Last night I ran into the back of someones car, in stop-start traffic coming home from DD's. All my fault. I have badly damaged the front of my car, no idea if it will be repairable, and of course will have to use our insurance to cover my car and the ladies. It was 4 or 5 miles from home and I managed to drive it back as it was driveable, and all lights except left indicator, which was smashed, were working. I am fed up but there is no one else to blame. Our insurance covers a hire car, but unless it is small I wont feel confident to drive it.
At least no one was hurt.

Today I am meeting a friend in town for lunch. A mutual friend of Lizzie and myself. We all met on slimming website a very long time ago. It turned out that she lives in my town and we meet up. It used it a few times a year but now usually just this Christmas one.

                                Have a good day everyone.
