Oma, what a lovely thing to do in memory or your brother. That sanding and oiling of your worktops takes a long time, it will look lovely when it is finished. I can't say I am a shoe collector like Tizzy but I do have shoes that I have bought for special occasions that sit in my wardrobe never to be used again.

Sun out now, must water the borders and pots today. No plans to do any housework, windows could do with a clean, the flies have been busy on them. GS3 Birmingham student,
visited me yesterday, he is feeling a bit lost, everyone else at home is busy working and he still is without work. He is seeing old friends and is going to Brighton next week. I think I will pop some money into his account. He had a chat with his cousin GD2 who is also without work.

Nanto, never made a coconut and cherry cake, how do you stop the cherries going to the bottom? I need to make a banana cake today.

Nails very pretty Gemini. I wish we had hedgehogs visiting us. Sil saw a deer sleeping our long grass when he went into the garden at 7am.

Had a busy week so far, DIL has been able to reopen her salons so lots of childcare . Home schooling, virtual goodbyes to teachers, virtual hellos to new teachers.... trip to National Trust Wimpole Home Farm. Day off today from childcare so did the ironing and made a couple of face masks for the local shop where they have been selling well! I think my kindle calls for this afternoon.

        Afternoon all.
Seems to be a cake making day. I’ve made a sultana cake and some scones. Most will go in the freezer as there’s only me to eat it, but I did need to use up some ingredients.

I had my usual walk, a shortish one today ,then I followed a Pilates session on a DVD. It’s months since I did any Pilates so found it rather hard going even though it was only basic. I must try to do some every day. so when the Community hall can open again and classes resume I will be a bit more prepared.
I had a sandwich lunch and promptly fell asleep!

I hope the medical appointments go well.

It’s lovely and sunny today so I’ll see if anything needs doing urgently in the garden and if not a cup of tea and a book will do instead.

        Enjoy your afternoon.

Hello everyone. Lots for me to catch up on later - everyone seems very busy.

Gem - OH is fine after his eye treatment. I'll write about the day in What I did today, but I'm just off to spend a bit of time outside and maybe do some painting. Will chat later.

You must have needed that sleep Clover. I often feel I could fall asleep in the daytime.
                Those look delicious Nan2.

Some news today the rules about care home and visitors, so we will have to see how it affects us. I hope it means a visit to my mum soon.

Mimi - how did your OH get on at the hospital yesterday, and how was his journey?

Oma - I'm intrigued by the dentist dressing B's teeth! I've never heard of that before. My goodness - what a popular day for birthdays in your family. What lovely photos to receive from your nephew. It must have been very poignant seeing the baby's teddy. xx (Hugs)

Gem - did you have a good day with GS1? Are they selling their house? If so I hope it goes smoothly.

Clover - it will be great to get back to doing regular Pilates sessions. I think a lot of people are looking forward to exercise classes of various sorts getting going again. We've no idea when dog training classes will resume. The hall we use is very old, and the ventilation doesn't meet the current requirements, plus you need to have a one-way system through the building, even though we never have more than one dog at a time being taken in or out. It's good to have a stash of cakes in the freezer.

Avo - you're going to be a busy lady again. But lovely to be seeing more of the GCs, isn't it.

Plant - your poor GSs - I hope they find work soon. I thought GS3 had something lined up, but perhaps I'm wrong. I hope it doesn't mean something's fallen through for him.

Daisy we had a very nice day thank you. GS had more screen time than usual, but he was quite tired and I decided it was OK for once. Yes, hoping to sell their house and move much nearer to us, thank goodness. You know how I hate those dark drives home each winter!

Clover I think a lot of fitness classes will have problems starting up again. The girl whose classes I'm doing on Zoom says she could only get 9people in some of the halls she uses and they would have to be classes where there is very little moving around. Plus everything would have to be cleaned if she had more than one class and there were different people attending! Thankfully she's happy to carry on her online classes for the foreseeable future. I quite enjoy working out in my little private studio, aka the computer room! Our local gym is opening on Saturday and they can only fit 5people in the studio for classes!

Sunny now,but we had rain a couple of hours ago.

Plant, hope things work out for your GS's.

Gem, hope DD's house sells quickly, and things go smoothly.

Very wet here this morning also. No rain now but there is more forecast.
We had planned to visit Burnby Hall Gardens today. You have to prebook of course, and when I saw the forecast we decided not to. We hope to go on Sunday.
Today we are going to York. We have booked for the Van Gogh Immersive Experience, which everyone tells me is amazing. I wanted to go before lockdown.
Our time is 11am so we maybe have lunch out too.

                            Have a good day everyone.

Eva was fussing for her breakfast and I know there are 3 cats over the road who will be giving me the Evil Eye if I don't get a move on. I'll be back in a bit.
