busy sorting Asda order but my mind keeps going blank on what we need .

Ironing done recycle bin out and dusted and hoovered so nothing much to do now .

I have moved my laptop to the other side of the SR and am managing to get on line, not ideal as I have to use a coffee table to balance the laptop on. Lovely morning again, nothing much to do in the garden, just keep things watered. I am going to B&Q this morning to return an item and also a local shop to drop off a Hermes parcel for return.

Nice to hear Eva enjoyed her walk now her paws are feeling better Daisy.

Oma, I am finding having a click and collect once a fortnight not ideal. I tend to over order and the fruit and veg tend to go stale. Like you I am used to picking fresh bits up in the week. I don't like to ask my DD to pick up a click and collect once a week.

It's been a very busy day here so far.
OH was up early as he had to catch a train to Birmingham hospital for his treatment. He has worried about the journey for some time now . He cancelled the appointment at the beginning of lockdown and I said if he cancelled again a new appointment wouldn't be until September/ November time and the train would be far busier then as the schools and colleges would be open . So he decided that now was the best option.

The gas engineer arrived for our yearly boiler service. I chatted to him keeping the recommended distance.
I have cleaned the windows inside and given the bedroom, sitting room and spare room a good clean. I'm just having a quick coffee and then I am going to tackle the outside windows.

I find my Amazon Alexa very handy when it comes to a shopping list . Throughout the week as I am cooking or cleaning if I notice I am running short of things I ask her to add it to my shopping list and then I get her to read it out to me when I am adjusting my Tesco order. Sometimes I still manage to forget something.

I have just finished putting away my home delivery order from Asda it was the only Supermarket I could get a slot on for delivery,I was missing some bits but they gave good substitutes which I didn't need to return.
I am off to the shops and the Bank I need to get some treats for Poppy & Oliver she loves those little white bone biscuits and he just loves the cat soup you can buy in foil packets.
I must remember to keep my mask on all the time I am out I have a couple of spare in my bag .
All the washing is on the line and the weather good for drying so ironing day tomorrow,how I hate ironing bedding but it looks so nice when done.
My friends husband had to stay at Arrow Park Hospital as the bed that was for him at Broadgreen was taken just as they where arranging a Ambulance she is so worried about him but hopefully it will be done today .
Has anyone used Dr Beckmann Pet Stain & Odour Remover at all ? my Poppy had a "wee" accident on my bedroom carpet only small and cleaned right away but left a small stain I have used their products a lot and found them very good so hope this works I will do it before I go to bed and it will be dry by morning.x

Glamm - yes, I used to use Dr Beckmann when Clyde was getting a bit 'forgetful'. I tried all sorts, but Dr B was the best. Sometimes you had to repeat, if you didn't deal with it straight away. It dries very quickly, too.

I'm sure your friend will be well cared for at Arrow Park, but everyone is bound to be worried about him. It won't be so far for his wife to visit (if visiting's allowed).

Those little white bones (Milk bones?) must be very tasty as most dogs seem to love them. Eva loves the various Fish for Dogs treats - and at least we don't have to worry about them having chicken in!

Mimi - I do hope your OH will be ok. I'm sure he'll be safe, but I remember you saying how worried he was about the journey, and he's sure to come home exhausted. I hope it all goes well for him. My goodness you'd done an Oma this morning with all that cleaning. I hope your OH still recognises the place when he gets back!

I've thought about using Alexa for my shopping list, but I don't quite trust her - a legacy of our rubbish broadband. It's probably now ok, but I just have a shopping list on the fridge and put things on as I go along. I do always forget something, but that's half the fun!

Plant - I have the same problem with fresh fruit and veg, even shopping online once a week. We always run out of bananas, today I see they've not delivered cherries and sometimes we're having to just use things up because the dates are so short.

Oma - it's horrible when you mind goes blank like that and you know there are things you need but don't know what they are! Can you do a 'favourites' list on Asda, or do they say "have you forgotten ...." before checkout. I find those really useful on Sainsbury's site.

Gem - what colour are you having your nails done? Can we have a photo, please?

You are all so busy, I can hardly keep up with all the news! Mimi, is it a long train journey for you hubby?

Oma, I often forget what I go shopping for! I have been to the Lidl this morning and forget things. They were not on list though so I do have an excuse.

I have been to friends for coffee, they lived in a town house in Delft for 42 years and have now moved to a penthouse near Den Haag, what a penthouse it is as well, on the 11 th floor, it is so big both inside and out, I was worried that when they moved she would miss the gardening as she was always out in the garden, well, they have more "garden" space then they had in Delft. 350 sq mtrs going all round the living space, 3 or 4 places to eat out, so many shrubs and plants, even apple trees! Then a couple of ponds, I was really surprised, I had seen the photo's when they bought it but didn't expect anything like that.

Daisy yes Asda has that I look at it to see what I have forgotten before I finish .
i remembered I needed bleach but I had came off by then so I have put it on my little note pad I keep on the back of cupboard door , I jot things down on there as I remember them .

I have same problem with fruit it just doesn't last , Raspberry's are the worst they don't last more than two days so annoying .

Mimi any news on Hubby is he home yet ? Such a worry when it's by train or bus .

It's been a odd day here , one minute glorious sunshine the next it looks like rain and the temperature keeps going up and down

I ordered some new Black patent leather loafers and they came today reduced to £15 so I'm happy with them fit like a glove , then I remembered I have a pair exactly the same in ox blood still in the box still with tissue paper around them I bought about 3 years ago , they in my wardrobe I'm going to get them out and put them in my shoe cabinet so I don't forget to wear them

One thing Oma, you make me laugh when reading your posts! I can just imagine you thinking to yourself " oh, I have those shoes in another colour"!!! I have got rid of 2 pairs of shoes this morning, as long as they are in the hall cupboard I will wear them and leave the others so they have gone.

The apartment isn't as posh as it is huge!!! They left a 3 storey house and certainly not downsized.

We have one swan on the water down from us, comes and visits often, now a couple of swans have decided to claim the water and the poor lonely swan is sad!

Oma the Shoe Queen
I was getting Click and Collect every week but I have changed to every 10 days or 2 weeks. Fruit and veg is the problem as people have said. You can't buy enough for 2 weeks as it won't last, so you end up having to go out to buy some to see you through. I tried an M&S fruit veg and salad delivery but that wasn't a great success.
We have a blackboard in the kitchen which we write down shopping items needed.

Its a bright morning. Not had the best of weather for July, but then i don't think we've had a good July for a few years.

Going to mix a coconut and cherry cake. While thats baking i'll make a start on the ironing.

B has Dentist today , they not doing fillings just dressing them but it has to be done a huge filling has fallen out .

Work tops nearly finished it takes so long between coats of oil to dry , my dining room table is serving as a place to make hot drinks a washing up bowl station . Chopping board surface etc it's doing my head in

My Niece's Birthday today plus my GNiece (her baby) is 1 today plus another Sis in law's. birthday

My Nephew the one who ran the marathon for my Brother sent me some lovely photos last night and one was his baby son with a teddy made from my Brother's T shirts a tear was shed .
