Afternoon all. A late check in for me.

Oma I really understand how you are feeling. You will bounce back but don’t expect too much too soon. I’m the same. Sometimes the sadness just sweeps over you. I’m trying to keep busy but my mind still wanders off where I don’t want it to especially as I have no one on hand to talk to.

Plant,I’ve just pruned the flowering currant today. Our garden recycling is collected tomorrow.
    Daisy,good luck with those seeds.

I’m waiting for a delivery of compost.Usually I pick up some bedding plants from Tesco or Wilco. This year I haven’t got any. I found some on line but as I only wanted a few the postage was almost as much as the order.

Sorry if I’ve not replied to everyone.

    Stay safe xx

Clover, never quite sure how to prune the flowering currant bushes, any advice anyone?

I googled it Plant. Not sure if I did it right though. Mine is part of a hedge so quite large and I had to get the stepladder out to reach the top and then go outside on the pavement to get to the other side

My two are separate plants, I will look it up.

A late hello from me today. It’s been very hot after a heavy frost this morning and a chilly wind. Can’t help with the currant bush, Clover. Oma, gentle hugs sent your way x.

Im reluctant to say, but we’ve had a better couple of days, so will keep my fingers crossed. DH has been feeling much better, his back is ok and his breathing seems easier. He even managed to walk around the garden quite a few times 🙂.

I have just been out for a walk around the block but I didn’t like it, so many people about. So I came home and finished off walking round thengarden to get my 20 minutes done. I sometimes feel I’ll never go into a shop again!

All my seedlings are doing well, I’ve managed to plant out most of them but now I’ve run out of compost. I think I’ll donate the few I have left to neighbours if they want them.

Hope you’ve all had a good day, haven’t read back so hope all,is well with you. 🌞

Enfys, so good to hear that things are a bit better with your OH. I don't blame you going home if there were too many people about.

OH had a lovely time on the golf course and played well. They are allowed to play up to 3 times a week at the moment and I'm sure she will.
I had a text from my GP to say she had requested a bone density scan as it had been 3 years since my last one, but that due to the current situation it would probably be quite a wait, but it is in the system. As I didn't even realise I was due one, it doesn't matter to me!

I'll be back later - I've read today's post, but I need to get on and feed Eva, then us before our social event of the week at 8 pm.

I was surprised how warm it was this afternoon. I sat in the summerhouse with a cuppa for a while and it was too hot! But the wind still has a chill to it. I'm dreading the week-end, the Forest will be over-run with people out for the day now they can - Enfys I'm sure it will be the same for you as well.

Evening ladies , feel much better now . We have sat and laughed about stuff we did as children and my Brother what he got up too. like borrowing his friends motor bike when he was 16 then didn't know how to slow down so had to crash into the post box to stop

DD made me cry she turned up with a Basket full of goodies for me ,she scolded me as it was supposed to cheer me up it did but the kindness made me cry

Just had our Tesco delivery the driver was funny he should have been a comic such a lovely man .

                  Going to clap tonight .

Daisy, everyone locally are amazed that the council decided to open up all the carparks near the beaches, mini golf etc and all the toilets and allow people to,use their beach huts. They insist you have to follow social distancing, but how you are expected to do that at a beach hut, no space at all. And as for using public toilets at this time.......I wouldn’t want to. There’s usually no hot water or soap, well the mind boggles. Our council leader had a live Q & A session on FB yesterday, interesting to say the least. We are all fearful of the influx of people driving from who knows where and bringing goodness knows what with them! We will be staying home for the foreseeable future.

Oma, what a lovely daughter 😊💗

Enfys no toilets around here are open. The car park of the park I met OH in yesterday was closed, I parked on the road.
Let's hope the toilets which are open in other parts of the country are keeping them super clean and have someone on the door to enable safe going in and out!!

Enfys - it's scary! The beach huts are on the path by the side of the beach itself, and on a sunny day there are loads of people walking along there, children running round, you couldn't safely sit out side a beach hut! I think it's madness. As for using the toilets! One of the Forest car parks very close to us has toilets and honestly, I don't know if they will be open, but I hope not!

People are behaving like kids let out of school! I really do think allowing unlimited travel is a mistake. I know we are incredibly lucky to live where we do, but visitors are putting themselves at risk and they don't seem to realise it.

I'm so glad you and P have had a better few days, and he's breathing more easily. It must help that his back is better, too. Hugs to you both. xx

Oma - what a lovely thoughtful present from your DD. I'm glad you're feeling a wee bit better, remembering happy times. xx

Nanto - I do like your new jacket - it looks lovely and I'm sure it's perfect as a light cover-up when the sun disappears. Is that the colour you chose?

Clover - I think you should prune flowering currants about now, and I think you can be quite brutal if you want, so yours will be fine. I'm glad you're getting out in the garden, although I'm sure there are time when you don't feel like doing anything. Sending hugs - you're doing brilliantly well, but I do wish you'd got someone nearby to chat to. xxx

Gem - I'm pleased for S that she can get back to her golf. Let's hope the weather holds for her. xx

Sun is shining. Off to in laws later.
Fish and chips for dinner,if the queue isn't too long.
Going to Asda in Wakefield after dinner. It's nice to get out of our estate.

Daisy, when i was looking for a jacket, i had red in mind, but when i saw the grey one, i changed my mind.
There were quite a few colours to pick from. Its roomy as well,so i can't get a thicker cardigan under it,if need be.

Good Friday morning, Nanto and all who drop in later.

Nanto - I like a jacket to be roomy - as you say, you sometimes want something cosy underneath. Fish and chips sounds wonderful. Our local chippie is only opening in the evening, and they don't deliver anyway. I think the grey jacket is lovely - and it will go with anything.

It's another sunny day here. The tiny tomatoes plants I potted on yesterday have been in the propagator overnight and have picked up nicely - they looked very droopy yesterday.

The garden and greenhouse beckons again today - the housework will have to wait, but first of all we have the excitement of it being bin day. It's just one social whirl after another in Daisy Land!!
