Plant - I hope the pattern makes more sense today. I should think getting the increasing and decreasing right is quite important, so I do hope the pattern is correct!

Clover - definitely not a day for outdoor painting. Perhaps a relaxing day with your knitting would be good - you and Plant can then compare notes. I hope your SIL enjoys his birthday, and his cake. After being short of flour for ages, I now have a bag of everything, so I'm just off to do some baking.

Oma - it sounds as though the weather is quite bad 'up there'. I hope Storm's a bit more relaxed today. Eva hates the wind, too. She slept all day on Thursday (after her day with Cooper on Wed) and most of yesterday, but this morning she just followed us round the house, quite anxious about the noise of the wind I think. Anyway we took her up to the paddock, and it really was gusting up there. We were a bit worried, but she trotted off quite happily, just keeping an eye on where we were. Usually she goes off like a rocket, racing round and round. We were just on what we decided was out last lap after about half an hour, when she suddenly took off. She's like a greyhound when she does this! She did two laps and skidded to a halt in front of us, tongue hanging almost to the floor, looking tired but happy. She's now sleeping it off on the sofa!

    Enjoy your take-away tonight.

Gem - oh dear, it looks as though your bins won't be emptied for a couple of days now. What a nuisance. As long as your mum is happy with her own company it's fine. I know you want to see her, but she's safe and well, which are the main things at the moment. xx

Off to do some baking - banana bread and I'm not sure what else yet.

I try to get flour on our shopping order every week, no luck so far. Fortunately we do still have some, but will need to replenish stocks soon .
All OK at Mum's only charity bag through the door, no post. We put the (emptied) green bin away and OH cut the back lawn and I washed the front step, door and window sills, to make the front look lived in.

Bins still out and full here.

You all sound busy bees. OH said that when he last went into Sainsbo's they had flour. Pleased to see you're all ok. Oma, I bet it's comforting to know your brother's back home.x

Gem - it's a good idea to keep your mum's house looking 'lived in'. At least her bin had been emptied. I got white bread flour from Sainsbury's this week, and DIL2 got me some wholemeal bread flour from Tesco, so I'm all right for a bit. I had a go at making soda bread today without yeast or strong flour and it turned out fine, so there are alternatives if I run out of bread flour. I had two small bags of wholemeal plain flour which OH bought before lockdown, thinking they were for bread.

My DIL2 was able to get gluten-free flour from a local shop where you weigh your own goods out into your own containers.

It's been a breezy day here today. No rain, but it did look quite overcast just after lunch. I'll have to do some watering tomorrow.

                Good moaning each.
Still blowing a gale here, but at least there is sun.
We have/had a visitor! We were going to bed last night when I heard a noise from upstairs. (We live in a bungalow but have a room and shower room built into part of the attic space) I knew the Velux window and also the attic door was open so I went to investigate. A black cat shot into the attic! There was no chance it would come out, and thinking back, it must have come in via the patio doors which we had open on Friday! Also, on Saturday morning the vertical blinds in the kitchen were all askew and my first thought was that it looked like a cat had been at them. (I lost my old puss last year). So that poor puss has been in here since Friday! I left it some ham and water, unlocked the cat flap and went to bed. It has eaten the ham and there is no sign but there are parts of the attic I can’t see, so I have put more food out and we will wait to see whether it is eaten. And that’s the extent of excitement in Grauntie land (except for the uproar caused by OH’s family quiz last night- ridiculously hard🙄)
                Have a good day ladies!
P.S. Thank you for the e-card, it was lovely.

P.P.P.S. I have the knitting needles out too, I have downloaded a pattern which looked oh so easy...ha! All double Dutch.🙄😩

                  Good morning dear ladies.

Roast chicken sounds lovely Nan2. I think we will have that next week.
Roast pork for us today. We are treating ourselves to the Sunday roast from the pub again. Collection time 1.45, which was the closest slot to 2pm as we could get.
Although windy is is bright and fine, so we are off for a walk this morning.
I avoid walks because of knee and back pain, but I know it makes it worse not doing anything. I am supposed to walk more. Far too much sitting about during lockdown! It didn't feel too bad this morning when I got up to make the tea, so with Volterol and painkillers I will go

                  Have a good day everyone.

                    Morning ladies

Gem don't walk too far and aggravate your knees but I agree not moving is just as bad I blame my swollen ankles on sitting around too much . It's always end of night they swell .

Grauntie poor puss but at least it's been fed , I bet someone is out looking for it .

Nanto a whole roast chicken always tastes better than just chicken breasts doesn't it .

We had our Turkish take away last night it was lovely but far too much then about 7 we had a cupper and a cream cake my DD had bought from a farm shop . I had a iced bun and B had the biggest peach Melba I've ever seen .

Needless to say we both had very uncomfortable stomaches getting into bed being pigs we ate far too much and I still feel slightly sick and full ,
Toast for lunch I think I couldn't face anything else

                    Mr & Mrs piggy today

I altered my routine this morning I was a rebel without a clue ,

had my shower first before I did my housework, oh the excitement is too much I'm all dizzy .

Steady on Oma, all that excitement!
I'm glad you enjoyed your meal and pud, just eat lightly today until you feel less full

Grauntie, cats have a habit of getting locked in places they shouldn't be don't they? And they don't learn by it. Sooty-Next-Door has been trapped in our garage several times!

Bright and not so windy this morning, no plans. Must go for a stroll up and down the road today, have done far too much sitting lately. Thank you for the Ecard, nice surprise.

Grauntie, poor puss, it probably didn't like the wind. Hope it has gone back home now with a full tummy.

Oma, I hope the tummies are feeling more comfortable this morning. How exciting having your shower first, you will be all back to front today.

I think I might cook myself a whole chicken, they are more tasty than a chicken breast.

Enjoy your walk Gemini, it is good to keep moving, I am really missing my Aqua, so good for the joints. I am longing to get back in that pool.

Hello everyone - I'm too late to say 'Good Morning' My excuse is I've spent too long in the Granny's Rest this morning, pouring over the cocktail menu!! They're alcohol- and calorie-free so great for all those overfull tummies!

Grauntie - poor puss. He must have been hungry and thirsty. I hope he's found his way home now. Or you might just have a new member of the family. I hope the uproar is forgotten before the next family Quiz night!

I'm doing lamb shanks in red wine with rosemary and thyme for tonight. Never done it before so it should be interesting!!

Gem - take it easy, and enjoy your lunch.

Plant - it's still quite windy here, but the sun's shining. Have a nice walk.

I did a roast chicken two week-ends ago, and I was really disappointed with it - it was a bit dry and chewy. I hope Nanto's and anyone else doing one has better luck.

The washing machine has just finished a load of bedding, so I'd better go and anchor it to the washing line. I hope I don't get blown away.

Just waiting for OH to come in with our lunch 😊

Good afternoon. Warm again here but a bit windy. Next door had visitors all day Friday and well into the evening and today too. And I worry when DD pops into our garden for a quick chat! So many people seem to think it’s all ok now, makes me mad!! They’ll all be crowded onto the beaches again too.

DH not feeling too good, has no energy and is breathless at the least exertion. Finding it all very difficult at the moment.

Grauntie I have started a game with you, and Plant too if she sees this,

Have a good weekend everyone 🌞
