Daisy I did think of that ,
trouble with me is I don't like T shirt material and a lot of PJs these days are made of that type , I actually don't own even one T shirt .

    I will keep on looking

WG we were sitting in the garden today and we could hear a lot of traffic on our highway. Normally we don't notice it but it's been so quiet lately that it was obvious that more people were out and about by the noise .

      Chilly but bright this morning.

We've noticed that there is a bit more traffic in our area.

        Good morning everyone.
Quite a lot more traffic in our area too . Far less than normal but much more than in the first lockdown weeks.
I have been entitled to my bus pass since March but haven't even applied for it. I don't think I will want to go onto public transport for a long time. We have cars but I feel sorry for people like my friend J, who has no car and works at the hospital and either has to walk (and it's a very long way) or go by bus each day.

Time for another walk for us today, having not a 'proper' walk for several days now.
Not sure what else is in store.

        Take care everyone.

          Morning Nanto
i can almost taste those luscious Strawberries

Pottered on got everything done , had a shower and put a wash on .

My hands are so dry despite lathering with hand cream all day it's mostly the back of my hands .
I remember buying a pair of cotton gloves ages ago but can't remember where I put them . I'm going to have a good look today and put some thick cream on before bed and cover with the gloves see if that helps

How are we all today ? Any exciting things happening ?

I will ask my friend J which hand cream she uses Oma. She is a health care assistant at the hospital and has always had dry hands (long before Covid) with applying all that gel all day long. Most hand creams just didn't do the trick but I'm sure she found one that did. The cotton gloves at night with hand cream is a good idea too.

Oma, can you buy O'Keeffe's Working Hands? It really does the trick with dry hands. I use the cotton gloves as well as socks with creams on when I go to bed, not every night!

Good Sunday morning everyone. (It is Sunday, isn't it!!)

                I love strawberries, Nanto!

Oma - What a pity about the pjs. I hope you find some somewhere! If hand cream isn't working, try using foot cream - it's much richer and might help, and a pair of socks would do if you can't find the cotton gloves - although I take no responsibility for what B might say if you go to bed with socks on your hands!!

Gem - enjoy your proper walk. I hope your knee and back are feeling better now. I wouldn't want to go on public transport either!

We can't hear traffic anyway where we live, but someone said the village high street was very busy yesterday. We're staying put for the week-end! But the sun's shining, so I've got another day's reprieve from the housework. It will be an exciting day in the garden for me.

                Stay safe everyone. xx

Oma, I have been looking for summer nighties on various websites and have seen quite a lot of short sleeved cotton PJ's. I am quite happy with T'shirt fabric as I don't have to iron them. I found the same 2 nighties on J.Lewis and Damart for the same price. I ordered them from JL because I get voucher points and I am not happy with one, my GD can return it for me at Waitrose instead of me having to go to a post office.

My OH had very dry skin and he used the Norwegian hand cream. Socks on the hands, well I am not sure about that.

Traffic noise is definitely heavier on our village roads.

I have pruned two flowering currants and one forsythia, one more flowering currant and one forsythia to go. I feel quite liberated now the green bin has been emptied. No sun yet but it is promised.

Daisy I could cut finger holes in some cotton socks I have good idea .
The cream's I have are Neutredina , a very greasy one like lard from Dermatologist, and lanolin.
ibthink it's just over washing them , I do use washing up gloves but not when I'm cleaning so that could be a problem too .
Lizzie my DD was saying the same thing about trying O'Keeffe's

Gem your poor friend it must be a worry for her , it's a dilemma for lots of workers isn't it .

Plant I have been trying to find separated as I'm bigger on top than bottom . If I get to fit my bust size the bottoms are huge if I get to fit bottoms the tops are too tight . I'm so Damned awkward

Good afternoon all . We have lamb shanks for lunch followed by strawberry trifle, OH's favourite as a treat as it's his birthday today.

Now steady on ladies, I'm not actually 66 till September so thank you for your kind invitation to join the pensioners club but I will just join as a 'guest' as it were . I'm clinging to 65 as long as possible 🤣😉😁

We don't hear too much traffic usually as we live in a Crescent so we don't get too much passing traffic. We have missed the sound of children from the school near us , we have found that to be eerily too quiet for our liking, it just drives home the situation we are all in .

                      Have a good day ladies

Mimi - happy birthday to your OH. I hope he enjoyed the lamb shanks and strawberry trifle. Mimi - they say you're as young as you feel, so you're probably not old enough to vote yet! Keep up the youthful outlook. x

Oma - good for your niece. I'm all for doing our bit for the environment.

I'm addicted to hand cream and use it nearly every time I wash my hands, so extra washing hasn't made any difference apart from getting through the hand cream a lot faster. I hate that feeling when your fingers feel rough and dry.

Plant - you're certainly getting on with the pruning. Well done, but don't overdo things. xx

WG - I'm sorry to hear things haven't been too good. I'm sure you're more patient than you think you are. xx I don't blame your SIL not wanting to go on public transport. You'd think they would have cancelled the congestion charge for the time being. I hope he stays safe.

Oma, hope you find some cream that helps your hands.

I'll go and write up in the what i did today thread.

Nan2, I like your Good Afternoon graphic
Mimi lamb shank and trifle two of my favourites! I'm not 66 yet either I'll have you know! We are pensioners though as we get our pension

We had a lovely walk. We took our sandwiches and some water and sat in field for lunch. We met one of OH's golf friends and socially distanced on our walk and at break time.
My turn to cook tonight, so I am giving my back and knee a good rest for now.

Mimi, I am sure your OH enjoyed his birthday meal, love lamb shanks.

That sounds a lovely outing for you and OH, I haven't got around to that yet. Don't think I am allowed yet. Well advised not to.

I am keeping hand cream by the sinks, so that I remember to use it.

I have finished the pruning now, still have a pile to cut up to go in the bin.

I have to go to the surgery tomorrow to have a blood test before my next injection for my bones.
