We got up late this morning, and I remembered it was Friday - bin day!

We both ran round like Alice in Wonderland's white rabbit - we're late! We're late! Got all the bin bags tied up and outside ..... then OH came back in and noticed on the calendar - they're not being collected until tomorrow. So we had to slink out and bring them all back!

We now have to remember to put them out again tomorrow!

Dad told us him and mam will be gone this year.
          Talk about advanced warning.

Daisy, hope all goes/went well at the hospital.

Brrr, very cold today. Oma hope you are feeling a bit better today and sorry to hear you’re not too good either Qwerty, sounds painful.

DH had a rough few days, feeling extremely tired and ‘woozy’ (his word) but he’s feeling better today. I went out this morning with DD and her friend, we had a late breakfast in Wetherspoons, lovely eggs Benedict then did some shopping, We wanted to get some things for DGD who will be home on Wednesday and she will certainly notice the cold. I am giving her money for Christmas but just wanted a few bits I could wrap and give her, so some lovely warm socks and gloves. I also got her some bath bombs and she loves Lush products and enjoys a hot bath. We can’t wait to see her again and hear all about her travels.

Hope your OHs appointment goes well this afternoon Daisy. DH had to see the doctor yesterday as he has an ear infection....just another thing to add to his list. Keep warm everyone and all, your poorly people, get well soon. X

Perhaps the woozy feeling was due to OH's ear infection, poor man.

              Advance warning indeed Nanto.

I forgot to say that I went to see Mary Poppins with GD1 this week, beautifully made film, really enjoyed it.

                Nan2, what a cheerful prediction!!!
DD1 and GS1 went to see that with friends, and really enjoyed it too Plant. I do want to see it.
Poor OH Enfys. I'm sure seeing your GD will cheer him up. It will do you both good.

We went to the library, then to see my auntie, then to the house of our friends who are away in NZ, to check on the house. From there to M&S to spend one of my mum's birthday vouchers for her.

He’s in the middle of his chemo, always makes him feel rough for a few days, luckily it doesn’t last too long.

Its very cold cold here tonight, heating is going full blast and I have one of my blankets over my knees. Feel like a proper granny 😀

Everywhere here is already white with frost! Even though the heating is blasting out I feel cold!

Enfys - Poor P, I hope the wooziness soon passes and his ear infection clears up. Your GD will really appreciate those warm clothes after the Australian summer. Not long now!

Gem - how was Auntie today?

Nanto - whatever made Dad say that!

Plant - glad you enjoyed Mary Poppins.

We didn't get round to putting the decorations in the loft after all. They'll have to wait now until OH is feeling better. We weren't the only ones to get the bin collections wrong either - when we went out to go to the hospital there were several houses further down the road with their bins out too!

I got my bin collection day mixed up too. I put it out a day early and then felt quite guilty because my neighbours either side of me followed suit! It looked like we were having a little bin party.

                        Good morning ladies.

Daisy, dad is always saying how he is fed up. He can't do what he wants/used to be able to do.
He says he's gone off food, although he doesn't look as if he has lost any weight.
Mam has been a bit off it for a couple of days.
She's got a water infection, but got antibiotics now.
Sometimes i think he just says things for sympathy.

Hoping all those under the weather feel better soon.

Good morning Nanto and everyone. I like the graphic - I could just do with sitting down and having a chat! It must be very frustrating for your FIL when he can't do the things he's used to doing, and I think a lot of men of his generation didn't have hobbies or interests while they were working so have nothing to fall back on as they get older. Hopefully your mum's appetite will pick up when she's finished the ABs.

Sunshine - hehehe I can just imagine you sitting by your bins having a little party!

We're supposed to be going out for coffee to a friend of a friend's this morning. The husband has just taken up wood turning and he's been round here a couple of times for OH to show him how to do things like sharpen tools etc. I'm hoping OH will feel well enough to go, as they invited us weeks ago and we couldn't find a free date, so it feels a bit rude if we back out this morning!

It's also dog food delivery day and usually it arrives late afternoon. Today it looks as though it will come while we're out. At least it won't defrost in this cold weather!!

                            Good morning ladies.
Nan2 the 3 people I know who are 90 all sometimes talk about not being here much longer at times (In the terms of not really wanting to be!) I think many people get the the stage of having had enough. Your in laws are lucky at least in having each other so not living alone. Their lives are much better due to all you do for them as well.

Daisy auntie is doing well, thank you. She hasn't used the outside walker or left the house since her son left on December 28th though. Next time I go I will encourage her to go out with it, with me, just to the local shop. Her son asks her if she has used it every time he phones, I'm sure she would love to say yes, but hasn't quite got the confidence to step out with it on her own yet.
I hope you both go out to your friends this morning and enjoy it.

Today we are taking down the decorations and putting the tree out in the back garden, to be cut up and put in the green bin eventually. We need a few things from the supermarket too.
DD2 and family return from their week in Norfolk today. They rented a cottage with good friends who have 2 children , a good time was had by all I gather
Happy Saturday everyone. Every day has seemed like a weekend lately hasn't it?!

Oma, yesterday was a funny running-about-from-thing-to-thing-for-others day, but I have in fact had quite a bit of rest time since Boxing Day. No childcare duties for 2 weeks has been a rest (much as I love them!)
