Plant - I'm glad you bought yourself some flowers. They do cheer us up and make us think of longer days and better weather to come.
Oma -You really do need to take it easy and get yourself better. Although I'm sure you're disappointed cancelling New Year's Day was the best thing to do. How iis B now?
Mimi - we haven't started any of our Christmas choccies yet!
Qwerty - poor you. You do sound poorly. I hope your New Year's Resolutions include being kind to yourself. Sending hugs.
Gem - chest infections seem to hit hard at this time of year, don't they. Let's hope we have no more poorly Grannies this year.
We took Eva to the paddock at lunch time, and it wore OH out. He's been snoozing in his chair since lunch. I had a sit down after lunch but I've just pottered round for half an hour and I feel really tired, no energy, I suppose the last couple of weeks is catching up with me.

Poorly Grans & OH's get well soon. Qwerty.....teaching Grandma to suck eggs but is your inhaler still in date love? Oma, it's not your sugar levels causing you to nearly pass out is it?
As shattered as I am we collected our sleepover GC around tea time. Both cleaned up, fed & watered & asleep by 7.30pm. Hope they have a lie in tomoro. 😍

Evening All.
We have survived Christmas and Christmas had left the building the day after Boxing Day. All decs packed away except for one bauble which will stay until 12th night. Yesterday was DD1’s 40th birthday and her husband had planned a surprise party which went very well. We had the GCs over night which meant we left the party early but we were happy to do that. All GCs behaved impeccably, and normal service was resumed here when they left at lunch time today. Now we have to plan our act for New Year, the theme is ‘Southend’s Got Talent’. 😆 We are planning a magic act, Marvo and Magee! I have made some false legs so OH can saw me in half! If I don’t post again it will be because Marvo missed. 😆
I do hope all poorly people feel better really soon.

Hoping the poorlies are feeling a bit better today.
Sounds like you have had a good Christmas Grauntie.
I'm ready for the decorations coming down, but hubby likes them to stay until New Year.
Hope Marvo doesn't miss.
Nothing planned for today, just go with the flow.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.
I hope you hang onto your real legs Grauntie
How was the night the the children Nana?
How are you today Oma?
I hope everyone else is OK.
Nothing planned today, which is nice. We need to clean and spruce up for the party tomorrow night but with 3 cats it will be as bad as ever if we do it today so that is tomorrow's job.
We may go and see my auntie, we may go to the cinema, we may do something else
I hope you have a good Sunday whatever it holds.

Another late start for us, but it it lovely not having to rush about first thing. Then, later in the day when it's going dark, I feel I've missed half of it! You can't win.
Grauntie - I'd be very careful where you put your real legs!!! I'm glad your DD's 40th party was fun. It's quite hard to fit in parties at this time of the year!
Nana - I hope your GCs slept well and didn't wake you too early.
Oma - wondering how you and B are, and sending hugs. xxx
Qwerty - I hope you've been able to put your inhaler back in the drawer. xxx
Gem - enjoy your day, whatever you decide to do.
We haven't made any plans for today, apart from taking Eva out. OH says he feels a little bit better, but he's still in bed! I've got a tiny bit of the dreaded ironing to do before tomorrow, and a few bits and pieces for tomorrow night's party! I've only got to do the main course, and I'm doing a tried and tested potroast of beef, which should be easy!!!
We were just about to go to bed last night, about 11 pm, when someone started letting of fireworks! So an hour later we were still trying to calm down a shaking, terrified mass of fur! To say I was furious is an understatement. We've got a FB group for our road and the connecting roads - why can't people just flag up what they're planning to do so the people they're disturbing can prepare for it! Grrrrr ......

Good morning all, its a busy day here as DD, SIL and GC are arriving from Cardiff to do Christmas part two. I have lots of presents under the tree even though I know that some may have taken their decs down. We will most probably do ours Tuesday or Wednesday. I know that OH desperately want to tidy the spare room as it became the dumping ground when the kitchen was being done and now it has all the empty decoration boxes so if we take the decs down it can all go back into the cupboard.
Oma, how are you and B, you have usually popped on here before me. Hope you are OK.
Daisy step away from the nasty household chore. Funny you should mention fireworks, we heard some going off last night also, too soon for New Year and a bit late for Christmas!
I did THAT chore before we went out. Our half an hour or so walk with Eva took nearly two hours today - first chatting to a neighbour who only lives 4 doors away but we haven't seen her for ages, and then a good chat with the owner of the paddock we use, catching up with Christmas news etc.
We got back just after 2 o'clock, and as it was dry as it's going to get, I mowed the lawn! It grows all year round, but it's not often dry enough to cut it. I only gave it a light trim, but it looks a bit better! Then I tidied the chest freezer (brrrrrr......) and ordered dog food. So much for my lazy day. Now I'm going to feed a neighbour's 3 cats.

Just join in when you feel up to it Oma, we will still be here! xxx
I wonder how Qwerty is today?
Good grief Daisy, A busy day!
We changed the bedding and I coloured my hair. I then had a long chat on the phone with youngest daughter. After lunch we went to see my auntie for an hour or so. She was on good form, but hadn't been out with her outdoor walker alone yet. I said I would walk around the block with her next time I go.
