Good Christmas eve morning ladies

We are making 3 desserts between us today , a Sherry trifle, a chocolate cheesecake and a Bailies meringue log ,
B usually makes a Jaffa cake for SIL but giving it a miss this year it's very sickly and takes two days to make.

It's cold, but the sun is shining which is lovely.

Nanto, what a perfect choice of graphic. What a good idea to wrap a present as soon as you buy it. Although I think I might forget what it was, or do. you keep a list?

Oma, you are busy bees making all those desserts. I'm sure they'll be much appreciated.

Gem, I hope you enjoyed your aqua class this morning. A nice start to the day. If you do the mash today you will be very pleased on Boxing Day!

I think both OH and I feel a little bit better today, but as soon as we start to do something we're exhausted. OH has laid the wood burner. He emptied the ash and brought a few logs in, and now is shattered. I've made him sit down. I've run the hoover round upstairs (I know, but Eva still sheds hairs everywhere whether we're ill or not.). I've got a few odds and ends to do, but I'll take my time and have rests in between.

I hope everyone else is ok.

The class was good. Our instructor brought a tub of Quality Street as a Christmas treat, so we all took one as we left

Good Christmas day morning.

Daisy and J, hope you are both feeling a bit better today.

We had a surprise visit from GD2 yesterday evening.
It was lovely to see her.

DS1 joining us for dinner today.

I'm not a big fan of Christmas day. From tomorrow it will be like normal days and normal meals. That's how we like it.

Good morning, a very Merry Christmas everyone. Yes Daisy, the waking early to see if "he" had been!!! The children here never had that as most of the presents, in the boys younger years, were with 5th December. The same with the grand daughters as well.

It is very cold here, -3 and feels like -14!!! The wind from Russia so they tell us!

I cleaned all the windows indoors yesterday, the ones above the doors in the hall really needed it, there was a low sun yesterday morning which really showed how dirty they were!!

Nanto, you would enjoy the surprise visit.

I see that 2 of the supermarkets in the village are open today, our Lidl is closed for 2 days but the large one is open tomorrow, then I wonder why there is all that panic buying before Christmas!!!

DS1 phoned last night, he was getting his BBQ ready for this evening!!!

I don't have to drive tomorrow evening, they are picking me up, I don't mind the drive, just the last part of the road to DS2's farm house puts me off in the dark.

We are due at DD2's at 1.
We are taking a chocolate yule log , wine and Christmas crackers. Mulled wine too. That needs making this morning but DD and SIL are doing the bulk the work today.

Evening ladies
MIL was a delight she had a really good day ,
Had two starters, a full dinner, and three deserts,
This from a woman who says she eats very little 🤣
GS was in fits with her , she said she felt well and happy today

She came home and went on her oxygen , we made her a cup of tea and she was going to have a little nap.

Oma, good to hear MIL was a good girl today. She certainly filled her belly up.

We have had a good day,plenty of phone calls and text messages.

A rather late Merry Christmas to you all! Had a lovely day with DS, we shared the prep for our meal and even the Slovak pigs in blankets were very tasty!
Poor DD wa booked to have lunch at a local pub only for there to be a power cut and the pub couldn’t cook anything. They did however supply all the food they’d ordered and they were able to cook it at home. At one point I thought they’d have to cook it at mine because their power was off and on!
Hope that everyone has had a lovely day and the poorly people are feeling a bit better! Xx

Good boxing day morning.

A more normal day for us.

What a shame the pub had a power cut. At least DD got the food they had ordered.
If it had been me, I would have been more than disappointed.

Hubby and his pal have decided to still have their Friday meet up.
Hubby will be out for a couple of hours.
