    Good Saturday morning, everyone.

Nanto, enjoy your trip into town and meeting up with DIL and DS2.

WeeGranny, I've never heard of Wenzels, but if I see one I'll definitely be going in there. I had to laugh at Doggo with the half tennis ball. DS2's previous dog, a Jack Russell, was great at finding balls, and he'd even go into gorse bushes to fetch balls other dogs wouldn't retrieve. Enjoy your week-end with your DB.

I had to laugh at the bananas. One day OH had done the supermarket shop and he glanced down the long receipt and noticed he'd been charged for 75 green peppers instead of 3!

Oma, I'm glad B isn't running round doing shopping etc for MIL. He needs to get better first, but I hope MIL is ok and using her oxygen properly.

Lizzie, that virus really did knock you out, didn't it. I hope. you're feeling ok now.

Gem, what a problem, not being able to release the handbrake. SIL2 was forceful with that as well as getting out of a difficult junction. The young man who came to your rescue was very kind. Oh dear, I hope your sore throat isn't the start of a cold. Take care of yourself please. I hope you had a lovely evening with GS2, and you manage to stay awake for your Tesco delivery. It's not just the delivery, it's putting everything away, and I always have to reorganise the fridge. I got our big Christmas delivery yesterday, but I've got a slot booked for Tuesday for fresh stuff, and things I've forgotten!

I've had such a relaxed start to the day I haven't even had a shower yet! I'd better get going.

Hallo everyone, Daisy and everyone that feels ill, I hope that you are all soon feeling better!

I was very annoyed this morning, I still am really, I have my shopping cycle, almost 20 years now, no bother, I went to the Lidl this morning, I wasn't in long, I came out and someone?? had banged their bike, or crane, onto my bike and broke the light unit that has been on all those years and built into the frame!!! I managed to slot it in, it was still working, I got home, it was shaking around though, had a look at it with the garage light, there was a piece missing, off I go again to find the missing piece!! I hope I have fixed it with tape, it was like a jigsaw puzzle, I will see when it is dark if it is working, otherwise, I will have to fix another one, I do have one in the garage so that won't be a problem, but, I do like this one, I never have to switch it on or off so I can't forget it!!

I started to do some sewing after that, leggings for GD1 so not complicated! I had a message from a neighbour on the first floor, I thought it was a Christmas message so didn't open it, in the end she came upstairs to see if I could look at her sewing machine as it wasn''t sewing, she was lucky it was the same as mine, a Bernina only an older model. I got it working, all oiled etc etc, that annoyed me as her DH is so handy, he helps at the Repair Cafe etc but doesn't bother to oil a machine for his wife! I seem to be easily annoyed today!!! I should maybe hibernate!!!

On the good side, the friend came to pick the alterations up last night, she was really pleased with them, it is strange really, with the arthritis in my fingers I can't "feel" a lot of things, knitting for too long it not done, I have trouble fastening buttons, putting earrings on etc, but, sewing is no problem, luckily!!

MIL is heading back into Hospital, she has pneumonia ,
We went this morning she was ok in herself but her chest was rattling and she said her lung at the back was hurting ,
Carer had rang 111 and they said a Dr would ring her,
No one had rang by the time we came away but SIL2 was going up,
She rang the nurses and they sent a ambulance,
She has had a right tantrum but has gone in.

Oma, I'm sure it's not what MIL wants, but unless she will agree to and be found a nursing home sadly this will keep happening.

Oh how annoying about the bike light Lizzie.

Daisy I think SIL has a strong arm plus me a weak one! I remember once picking my car up from a garage and having to go back in and ask them to release the handbrake!

GS2 had a nice relaxing morning. Between spending time with him I marzipanned the Christmas cake and made some bread. DD collected him just after lunch.

Present wrapping this afternoon, whilst TV watching.
My throat feels less sore than earlier.

            Your right
            We are not surprised.
Just as well that young man helped, you could have been there a while.
Did you get your wrapping done?

            Daisy
How have you both been today, Is J any better ?

I hate putting the shopping away especially struggling with the fridge, it drives me mad ,
It's the one thing that I can get cross with instantly,
If something doesn't fit in I have been known to throw it across the worktop in temper,
B just shakes his head at me 😁

            Lizzie
I bet GD is pleased with the leggings,
Your friend would appreciate your help with the sewing machine,

Oma, I have done all the wrapping apart from OH's I will do that when shes playing golf tomorrow.

I usually book the one hour slot for grocery deliveries, but occasionally if we are definitely going to be in the whole time we book the cheaper four hour option. They give you your hour slot on the day and generally it has been during the first two hours. Today I wasn't lucky as I booked the 6 to 10 pm slot and was given 9 to 10 pm!
We will probably just put away the fridge and freezer shopping and leave the rest for the morning.

Lizzie, how annoying about the light. Thank goodness you've got another one you can use.

Oma, I'm sorry to hear MIL is back in hospital, but sadly, not surprised. I wonder if she will come round to thinking she needs special care.

Gem, I hope your order has arrived ok.

I've done nothing today, and feel worse than I did yesterday. Very tired and extremely cold and shivery, despite the heating and layers of warm clothes. I'm off to bed, and hope I feel a bit better tomorrow.

OH is slightly better today - I think the meds are working.

Shopping is here and all that needs putting away is away. The rest will wait until morning.

Get off to bed Daisy. Rest as much as you can tomorrow xxx

Lizzie glad you had a spare light for your bike.

Oma sorry to hear MIL is back in hospital.

Gem, glad you got help with the car.

Off to make some mince pies now. I like to make coconut tarts as well, but I'll do those tomorrow.

Good morning Nan2 and everyone else.

That lady in your graphic looks a bit like my Nanna Nan2

Golf for OH today. I am going to see my sister and take her presents.
Later I will wrap OH's presents and make some chocolate rice crispie buns, and some soup. We have friends coming for a buffet lunch tomorrow, so I will probably hoover round too.

This Christmas fairy has come along to sprinkle some healing magic over all the poorly ones in our community

Oma, S is OK thanks. She had been experiencing quite a bit of hip pain on walking, they recommended she tried taking ibuprofen regularly each day for two weeks. She's about half way through and it's really helping.

Carers who live in would be an alternative for your MIL. We did look into it for my mum

She wouldn't have that either Gem ,
It was one of our suggestions, she has to make things difficult.

We went to Asda for 9.30 the tills don't open till ten,
                            It was already heaving,
Some isles you couldn't get down,
Luckily we only wanted milk, a bottle of sherry for a trifle and a few bits ,
We couldn't get out fast enough,
People were just buying anything they could get hold of by the looks of it.
Not my kind of shopping ,

I went to Tesco for a couple of things on my way back from my sister's.
It wasn't any busier than usual. I could easily get along all the aisles and didn't have to queue for the self checkout. A very calm experience Asda sounded horrendous Oma!

                                Good Sunday morning/afternoon, everyone.

Nanto, that granny looks very determined to have the best trimmed apple pie in the world! . It's nice to make mince pies at this time of year. I still haven't done ours though!

Gem, I hope your sister is keeping well and free of all these nasty bugs going round. Safe journey. I'm glad S can take Ibuprofen for her painful hip. Hopefully playing golf helps to keep it moving as freely as possible. Thank you for the Christmas fairy's healing magic. I'll share mine with OH. Thank goodness your supermarket shop was easier than Oma's.

Oma, the supermarket sounds horrendous. I think you're right. People just seem to run round like headless chickens in a panic. I know nobody wants to run out of essentials, but it's only a couple of days and even if you forget the turkey (!) you can improvise. Having said that our fridge is full!

Oh dear, your MIL is sooo stubborn. It's probably what keeps her going, but isn't very helpful to you, B and the rest of the family. Is the pneumonia under control now?

We both ended up feeling really poorly last night, but slept well. Apart from a croaky voice I'm ok, but I keep going hot and cold. It's one of the side effects of the meds and something I've had all the time, but it's a bit more extreme at the moment. I took OH his breakfast in bed and suddenly went so hot I nearly fainted, but after about half an hour I felt ok again. But we're having a lazy day today. I've checked my temp and blood oxygen levels and both are ok, just in case anyone was tempted to send an ambulance to cart me off to hospital.
