Feels like we have gone back to winter, very cold.

Gem, what a shame the sofa wouldn't go in. Better luck next time.

Daisy, hope DIL has a lovely birthday.

I only had enough filling to make two steak and onion pies and only made two crumbles.

Lo and behold hubby came home and his pal has given him two tubs of red gooseberries from their freezer.

Fingers crossed the next delivery men can get the sofa in,

A good idea taking Eva for a look first, I'm sure she will be ok once in the water,
Storm was unsure when DD took him to the doggy swimming pool first time .

      Nanto
How lovely to get Red gooseberry's
Not often you see them these days.

      Gem
Hopefully the cauterisation works for DD xx

It has never stopped raining all day it's miserable.

My medication didn't come this week usually it comes by Wednesday,
So I rang the pharmacy, they hadn't received a prescription,
As it was my Diabetes medication they suggested I rang our surgery then ring them back and they would issue a emergency week supply,
I rang the surgery and they had done a paper prescription to be picked up instead of an electronic one to the pharmacy,
So they cancelled the paper one and would send it to the pharmacy, but they wouldn't get it till Monday ,
So I rang the pharmacy back and within a hour they had sent the emergency supply out,
Just as well I rang early enough to check up on it isn't it.

I know some people had problems getting here earlier. I didn't check in over that time but when I did later it was fine via my phone and laptop. So hopefully it was one of those temporary glitches.

I have had a very busy day. I took GSs 1 and 3 to the library then Costa for lunch. Everyone had gone now .I am very tired!! Off to babysit GS1 in a couple of hours so feet up until then.
DD3 has had her nose cauterised and put back on steroids to increase her appetite. They were at the hospital from 9.30 until after 3, so long tiring day.

Nanto, red gooseberries are lovely. You will be able to make some really tasty puds with them. The weather's disappointing after a few nice mild days. DIL has had a lovely birthday, thank you. She has gone out for a meal tonight.

Gem, no wonder you're very tired. What a busy day. I didn't have chance to come online today, so didn't realise there had been a hiccough. I think when that happens it's usually a satellite or weather problem that's caused it, but Im glad it all seems to be ok now. I do hope DD3 doesn't get any more nosebleeds now. Cauterisation sounds very painful, or at best very uncomfortable. I'm sure she will feel much better with the steroids and it will help her appetite. It was a long day which must have been really tiring for her. Was her OH able to stay with her?

Oma, what a palavar when your meds didn't arrive. At least the pharmacy got them to you quickly, but it's the sort of mistake you don't want to have to deal with.

We took Eva to the hydro place. It was an awful journey, only about 20 miles but the weather was horrendous and the Friday afternoon traffic was busy. The people at the pool were very helpful. They said Eva could just wander round (on lead, of course) and check it all out. She had a look at the swimming pool, and would have gone in if I'd let her. She went behind the reception counter and into their back room. She even stuck her head in a washing machine and I thought she was going to pull some washed towels out! When the treadmill was empty we were able to take her through there as well. We're taking her for her first treadmill session next Thursday. It's put our minds at rest that she won't be frightened.

Mt Sainsbury's order arrived tonight, very wet with fruit juice where a carton had leaked over everything.

Daisy, glad Eva was ok at the hydro place.

Oma, glad you got your meds.

Gem, that was a long day at the hospital for DD3.

We are going into town later, meeting up with DS2.
He will be telling us how he got on with his new job.

Good morning everyone, very foggy here, it should clear soon. I have been to the shops, early, as I like bread from the fresh baker, I do order it sometimes, going early is alright for me .

I have treated myself to a smart speaker!! My stereo faded out after 25 years, I was looking for another then DS2 asked if I really needed one and that a smart speaker would be much easier. I did my work on the internet and found one I liked, I was at the gym yesterday morning, the lovely young man always comes for a chat and asked what I was doing yesterday, I told him the story and showed him which I had chosen, he said it would be a good one. Then I went to Rotterdam to buy it, I could have ordered it on-line but I need to use my car now and again. I soon had it fixed up so can enjoy my music again, I can use the Mac, which I do but that is only in one place, the soundbar on the TV is another option but no way do I want the TV on all the time, this is the best solution. The road I drove through in Rotterdam was one mass of lovely yellow, all the daffodils are out. I biked to next village yesterday afternoon and it is yellow all the way!

I have had a reaction to the prednisone injection, it didn't bother me the other times, I think it could be with taking that prescription for the shingles. I have had a red face and hot sweats all week!! Luckily much better now.

Daisy, I didn't realise that they have hydro therapy for dogs, I do hope that it helps.

Nanto, enjoy meeting up with your DS. We hardly ever see gooseberries here.

GD1 phoned on Thursday, did I fancy meeting her at the ice cream parlour in the village, she an ice-cream, me a cappuccino, I said I would so I went, I enjoyed it, we were sat there when GD2 appeared, she was on her way to me and decided to walk through the village, luckily she did! She had an ice-cream then both came here before walking back home, I did offer to take them, but no, they like the walk, it was lovely weather as well so they would enjoy that.

I was sat talking to GD1 when one of the clients, from where I do the coffee, went by, he is an immigrant, often comes for form filling etc, anyway he said 'good afternoon" to me, with a smile! GD1 asked "who is that", so I explained he is a client etc. A few minutes later another passed by, same story, GD1 asked " another one of your clients nan??". I hope that no-one was listening!

Gem, I do hope that the settee will fit in the room.

I still have a mouse now and again, they do come through the kitchen cupboard, I have read that ammonia puts them off, it must work as if I remember to put fresh ammonia in the cupboard they stay away.

Oma, a good job your medicine arrived, ours are in an app, we can just order if it is a regular order.

                  Morning ladies

                  Lizzie
My meds are on a app but they got it mixed up with a collect paper prescription and a electronic one that goes direct to the pharmacist,
                  All sorted now I hope
How nice that both GDs got to have ice-cream with you ,
I can imagine how it would sound "another one of your clients" 🤣

                  Daisy
So pleased Eva wasn't afraid and having a good look and a good sniff she will remember it when you take her back,
I bet she was tempted with the towels😁
But of a pain the journey though wasn't it,

                  Nanto
Enjoy your meet up with DS I hope he likes his new job

How are you today , did you sleep well?
It's a long time at the hospital but fingers crossed it's done the trickxx

Not much to do today so bed has been stripped and that's in the wash,
DD is coming with Storm today,
She's driving to the retail park over the road to us then walking him over the bridge ,
It's only a 4-5 minute walk but it will make him feel like he has been out.

At the moment as soon as she is near her street he is plonking himself down and won't move as he doesn't want to finish his walk ,
She has to stand and keep giving him a little shove till he finally gets up and goes home,

He isn't exactly light weight so no chance of lifting him up.
He is feeling cheated at the moment.

                    Good morning ladies.
Fingers crossed yesterdays Gremlins are all gone

That's a bright pretty butterfly Nan2, I hope it encourages the sun!

Lizzie, it seems almost all drugs have some side effects which can bother us. Those mice are persistent aren't they?

Daisy, that sounds an encouraging visit with Eva. Hopefully she will enjoy the hydro sessions when she has them and they will help.
Yes ,SIL did stay with DD3 all day yesterday (Apart from when she had the procedure) We kept Little E all day so he could.

Poor Storm Oma, and poor DD! Hopefully he will soon be back on form.

Today we are going to my ex and his OH's house for a family get together. This is to celebrate DD1's 50th, and they have both had birthdays in the last couple of weeks so a joint celebration. As it's in her dad's home, DD3 can relax and take herself off for a sleep if she wants. She wants to come back with us and stay the night. She likes to be here and be pampered and she knows it gives SIL a bit of a break not looking after her as well as little E, and the house!

The sofa is now not going to be redelivered so its back to the drawing board, maybe two sofas.

Nanto, what a bright cheerful butterfly. It makes me think of a warm summer's day. (In my dreams). Is your DS2 enjoying his new job? It takes a while to settle down in a new place, getting to know the people as well as the actual work. My GS2 recently started a new job as well, and he's finding it very tiring.

Lizzie, I hope the fog cleared ok. Can you play music from your phone through your new smart speaker? It sounds as though both your GDs enjoy their ice cream. Oh dear, your reputation could be in tatters if anyone heard your GD say "another of your clients". I didn't know ammonia deterred mice, but it sounds a good way of stopping your unwanted guests.

Oma, Storm is making progress. He's a smart dog, though, and I can just picture him sitting down at the end of their street and in effect saying "no, I want more walkies". As you say, he's far too heavy to "persuade". We have a similar problem with Cooper. He happily gets in my car to come to our house, but absolutely won't get in to go home. He loves Eva's company. DS2 has to come and collect him! He still won't get in the car, but DS just heaves him in, all 40+ kg of protesting animal.

Gem, what a shame about the sofa. I suppose they've now got to go through the process of choosing again, and then perhaps having to wait for delivery. I'm sure it must help DD3 when her OH can stay with her. You feel very vulnerable and having OH there makes a big difference, but of course it isn't always possible. They are so lucky that you and her sisters can help with little E. I hope you have a lovely celebration today. DD3 will enjoy being pampered if she stays with you overnight. I hope you are getting enough rest as well, and your hip is feeling better.

I don't seem to be getting much done today, but it's cold and rather dismal so a good time to curl up and read my book. We're relieved Eva was ok at the Hydro pool but the staff were so gentle with her and hopefully she will be ok with the treatment.

Yes Daisy, all the music etc works from my iPhone. I am getting used to it, I have just been down to the neighbour under here, she is 85 years old and just starting with a tablet that her nephew got for her, she says she panics sometimes but manages games, WhatsApp etc so I helped her with a few things and told her not to panic! Her nephew sent a message that they were out walking, they go walking a lot, I helped her to answer him so she was pleased about that.

Lizzie, the smart speaker sounds ideal. I think it's great that your neighbour is getting started with a tablet. I think she's doing very well, and I hope she's proud of herself, even if she did needed a bit of help to reply to her nephew's message. It was kind of you to help her.

I've carried on doing very little today. I've watched some of Crufts, took Eva out for a walk and made tonight's dinner. It wasn't much work. I defrosted some pork meatballs I'd made a while ago and made an easy tomato sauce and brown rice to go with them.

Gem, hope DD had a good night's sleep.

We had a good catch up with DS2 yesterday. He has been very happy with the first week of his new job.

I've read yesterday's posts, but not commented.

Not long after we got home yesterday, visitors arrived.

All OK here, I just don't have time to post properly, but will catch up later!

OH on the golf course,DD3 and I are heading to the nature reserve for a while. We are then meeting little E and his daddy at a farm shop cafe for lunch. DD will go back with them afterwards, so I won't be driving her home.

Dull here but dry at least.
