No news yet from hospital today, I expect DD and Sil have been in touch and I would imagine the other GP will be travelling down from Yorkshire. DD and Sil visited last evening and said he was awake and unsettled and GD is very sore, I am not sure if they will be going home today. It is amazing that the new dad has been sleeping there for 3 days. I can’t wait to see the babe. Name not decided yet as far as I know.

Nanto, I hope you are relaxing and enjoying your holiday.

Daisy, I wouldn’t think there is much chance of working outside today. It is very dark and dismal here.

Oma, I don’t have a sense of smell so a chocolate smelling candle would be wasted on me.

Gemini, GS 13 tomorrow! It doesn’t seem possible.

I'm sure you are dying to see the new baby Plant.

      Take that lazy day Daisy!

A friend of OH's turned up unexpectedly this afternoon, to drop in an invitation to her 60th birthday, and stayed hours.
She and OH were good friends for many years. When she and her then OH separated she just dropped OH. OH tried to stay friends with both of them, made lots of effort to stay in touch with this friend but she just disappeared out of our lives. She only lives a couple of miles away. I wouldn't be so forgiving if a friend treated me that way I'm afraid.
I had to go and start making dinner in the end as she stayed so long!

Gem, yes, it does rather test the meaning of friendship when someone drops you like that. All credit to your OH for persevering. I've never managed to find a tactful way of telling someone it's time they went home! Did she take the hint when you went off to get dinner?

Plant, your poor GD feeling sore. I hope they are giving her good pain relief so she can rest, and cuddle her baby. I'm sure after any other sort of major abdominal surgery there would be good pain relief and lots of post-operative care. It seems that after a CS mums are almost expected to leap out of bed and spring clean the house. (I exaggerate, I know, but the care seems to be on a different level.)

After saying I'd have a lazy day, I was quite busy this afternoon. I spent some time tidying up and cleaning in the kitchen, then I made a lamb casserole for dinner tonight. We had a cup of tea then, between showers, I took Eva for a walk. Of course, it rained while I was out, but not for long.

          Good morning.

I haven't had time to read all the posts ,but just wanted to check in.

Weather is 25 degrees and the hotel is one of the best ones we have stayed in.

              Morning ladies
              Nanto

              Gem
Sometimes people can't take the hint and I'm with you if someone cuts me off for no reason then they turn up again I'm not as willing to accept them back.

              Daisy
Your right poor mums these days, I don't think they get the care they should especially after a C section.
I hope you get easy day today.

We have to take MIL for a bladder scan this morning that will be fun,
She has to drink 2 pints of water before we go ,
How she is supposed to hold that with a weak bladder I don't know.
I have told her to take water with us then if she can't hold it she can drink the water before we go in.

Happy Birthday to E Gem I hope he's having a great birthday week 😁🎂🎉🎈🎁

                    Good Tuesday morning, everyone.

Nanto, the photo looks amazing. Enjoy your holiday. The weather sounds perfect, relax and make the most of it.

Oma, I hope MIL is ok. It's hard when you're told you have to drink a lot of water. The very thought seems to make you want to "go".

Gem, very happy birthday to your GS1. Another teenager in your family. They grow up far too quickly. The lamb casserole yesterday turned out well, and the meat was melt-in-the-mouth tender. I made enough for 4 so we can have the rest today or I might freeze it.

The sun is shining today, so we are going to get some gardening done. The weeds are thriving far too well for my liking.

Daisy, We have sunshine too today, hope it lasts. I must get back to making casseroles in the slow cooker.

Gemini, Happy Birthday to your GS1, does he like being a teenager?

Nanto, I hope the sun is still shining for you.

Oma, I hope the bladder scan for your Mil goes okay.I presume the bladder has to be full, I hope it isn’t too uncomfortable for her, no double she will let them know is it is.

I had a lovely pic of baby yesterday, he (like all new babies is gorgeous) They are home now. No name yet. I am not pushing to see him, let them get settled. DD just been in and said baby is jaundiced. Also what do I want to do for my birthday, apparently Dil is planning a lunch.

I'm sure you will soon get baby cuddles 😁

                        Daisy
Pleased you enjoyed your casserole, always a bonus to do enough for another meal,
Your lucky to get in the garden it's rained here all day.

We do seem to be crossing 😁
I bet E is having a great day out.

Well MIL was as good as gold ,
No moaning no carry on, she did really good, we had to wait a while before her turn but I kept her chatting and it took her mind from it.
Had a bit of a struggle getting her out again as she wanted to tell the girl all her medical history,
I had to pull her top down and encourage her to get off the table then almost man handle her into her coat but she did as she was told.

Got her back home made her a coffee then we came home,
Well we got about 10 minutes away when I realised I still had her handbag and purse at my feet ,
So we had to turn around and go back with it , she hadn't missed it either 😁

Wish she could be as good all the time, it would make life easier.

Plant I think GS1 has felt ready for his teens for some time.

I hope the weather stays fine for your gardening Daisy

MIL is always an unknown quantity isn't she Oma? I'm glad it went well today

It was a very busy library morning! I did get a short coffee break and chat with the librarian though, and the post office guy,all alone in his little corner.
I put a white wash on and cleaned both loos and basins and did a little dusting after lunch. TV catching up the rest of the afternoon. It's rained on and off, OH may have got wet on the course!

Plant, I'm pleased to hear Mum and Baby are home. I remember my GD2 being jaundiced and the midwife said to put her Moses basket by the patio window to get maximum sun. Her birthday's the 27 December, so little chance of sun then. I hope your newest GGS is soon better. It's very thoughtful of you not to rush to see baby, even though I know you must be longing to have your first cuddle. They need time to rest and get into some sort of routine.

Oma, wow, MIL was a star today! She does surprise us sometimes, doesn't she. At least she hadn't missed her bag, or she might have thought she'd left it at the hospital. Fingers crossed she's also good for her shopping trip with your SIL on Thursday.

Gem, it's great to hear your library is busy. Is it half term next week? Perhaps people were stocking up on books in anticipation of a wet week. I hope OH didn't get drenched on the golf course. I hope GS1 has had a good day today. Did you say there was a family get together at the week-end to celebrate?

It was a lovely sunny morning and into the afternoon. OH worked really hard on the weeding until it rained. I was very tired and didn't do much more than potter round the house, but I got a few odd jobs done. I feel a lot better now, so I'm just off to take Eva for a walk while it's fine.

                              Good morning ladies.
Mornings are feeling very autumnal aren't they?

It is half term here next week Daisy, yes. A family day on Sunday for GS1's birthday is so far the plan , but as it's him we shall see!!

Aqua and coffee with my friends this morning. I must also go into M&S to return those black patent shoes you may remember me buying. Trying them on in the store with the stupid elastic tying them together means you can't really walk in them. Once I tried them at home they are too loose. So back they go.

This afternoon OH and I are visiting the stonemasons. Some time ago my parents ashes were buried together in an ashes plot my mum had purchased at the cemetery. We planted two little plants as a temporary measure and have intended to buy the stone since. It wasn't included in what was paid and it won't be cheap, but I feel bad the spot is unmarked.
