The floor is getting there ,
To be honest I didn't think there was so much involved in it ,
They spent the morning smoothing and sanding the screed,
Then as I am having a herringbone pattern they had the laser out marking out the pattern on the floor ,
Then they started to put the strips down,
By then it was almost 5 pm so they stopped for the day

J sounds like he is in his element working on his trailer ,
It keeps him busy I suppose 😁

    Lizzie
A busy week for you then doing the coffees for the tax form fillers ,

I'm sure it will be better to move out if you are having a lot done ,
The noise and dust plus the upheaval isn't what you want to put up with.

Your neighbour will be very grateful for your repair to her coat , plus you received nice face cream as a reward 😁

GS is off this week but he has gone back tonight for a lecture tomorrow,
He had to call in on his way just for a hug ,we will see him Thursday as we are taking him and Lucie out for tea 😁

Lizzie, your neighbour must have been delighted you could repair her coat for her. Is the face cream nice? Is this the lady who makes a lot of skin care products? My OH's trailer is just a single axle. I think it's often the base that rots first. OH usually puts a large sheet of marine ply in the bottom if he's carrying anything wet. OH has stripped all the wood off now and the metal framework is fine - no rust or wear on it, and we can't even remember how old it is. He's also recently put new tyres on it, too. He's due to go and do cars with his car buddies tomorrow so the trailer will have to wait. We've got to take Eva for hydrotherapy on Thursday morning, but he can do a few hours on Thursday afternoon.

The thought of the renovations to the flats must be quite worrying, not knowing when or for how long there will be disruption.

Oma, the new floor does sound complicated. I didn't realise that they had to mark out the screed for the herringbone pattern. I'd just never thought about it, I suppose. At least you know your SIL will do a fantastic job for you, and having it done early is good. Yes, J is enjoying renovating the trailer, and it keeps him out of mischief. Your GS is such a lovely lad, and Lucie sounds a sweetie.

          Good morning ladies.
I like the cheerful graphic Nan2

Lizzie, that sounds a big upheaval for the flats. They are replacing the gas pipes to all the properties in our road at present and they have almost reached ours. We are all finding that disruptive enough!

Daisy my OH had a trailer for years. It was a big one and took up a lot of our garage space. A few years ago we sold it. We realised it was now mostly used by OH to drive it for others who wanted to borrow it and didn't have a tow bar of their own!

          Oma, poor Storm and DD.
There is obviously a lot of work going into this floor laying lark!

Aqua this morning then coffee. I have no plans this afternoon so far.

Gem, it should have been done 2 years ago when the other flats were done, they will remove the gas and we will cook on induction, for the last 10 years if a flat was empty they did that, much cheaper, now I pay a fortune to have gas to cook on, cooking uses so little gas, I often get a mail telling me I need my meter looked at!!!

              Morning ladies

              Nanto
What a lovely cheerful graphic 😊

              Lizzie
We have an induction hob , wouldn't have anything else now, although you do have to have compatible pans to use on it .

              Gem
I can understand why S sold the trailer ,
No point it taking up room just to be used by others .

SIL and the crew coming about 9 ISH , then we will leave them too it and go down DDs
I have made sure I have nice treats in my bag for Storm.

My hairdresser rang last night she has a cancellation for 1 today do I want it, I said yes, I'm booked in on the 23rd but this works better for me .

Good idea to go to DD's. I wonder if the cats will pester B?!

We have been to see Storm
Oh he Is sad bless him,
                  I wanted to cry .
DD. has been helping him into the garden using the hoist thing she bought to support him ,
He's a big boy but she seems to have the hang of it.

It was nice to sit and have a cup of tea in a nice tidy living room.

                  Gem
It took me a while when we first bought one but I find them so easy now.

Window cleaner is doing the rounds ,, you just know it will rain now .

Oh poor Storm, it's so hard as they don't understand.

It's so windy here! All my lovely blossom will be gone.
I hung some washing out but will keep an eye on it.
OH is in town for lunch with her friend.
We are both eating out with two other friends tonight. The lovely little Chinese restaurant in the village.

Hello everybody. Better late than never (I hope!)

Nanto, another thumbs up for the lovely cheerful graphic.

Gem, I think it's the fate of owners of trailers - there's always somebody who needs to borrow it, but have no towbar. It's such a pity when the blossom gets blown off the trees too soon. Are the Aqua classes helping to ease your pain? I hope you're relaxing this afternoon, and have a lovely time tonight.

Lizzie, perhaps you should have your gas meter checked. I'm like Gem - I struggle with induction hobs. My DIL1 has one and it drives me mad. Even when we were staying there for 6 weeks I didn't get used to it, plus as it's in an island unit I was always worried I'd plonk something on it when it was still hot. I also struggle with DIL2's ordinary electric hob. My gas one's a pain to clean but I wouldn't swap it.

Oma, I bet Storm was pleased to see you, even though he's feeling sorry for himself. DD is doing well to be able to hoist him up like that, he must be quite heavy. If he's like Eva, he will be able to do a good line in sad-eyed-puppy-dog looks. I hope he enjoyed the treats you took.

Today' plans went wrong. OH wasn't feeling very well this morning - he possibly overdid it yesterday - so he decided not to go to his car buddy's. Then the dog hydro place rang, saying could we go today instead of tomorrow. So we took Eva over for her first proper go on the treadmill. She was really good and was quite happy toddling up and down and walking on the treadmill. She even let them shower her afterwards. Not surprising, though, she's slept since we got home.

Daisy, I use so little it hardly shows on the smart meter, the people reading it all don't realise that! We pay so much for the transport costs.

Daisy, we are the same as you. Hate cleaning the gas hob but are very comfortable with them and wouldn't want anything else.
Good news about Eva and the treadmill. I hope your OH feels better soon.

Clever Eva , I bet she was tired out after that ,but you know she is happy to go on it.

I hope you have a lovely evening,

Well the floor is almost finished,
Only the downstairs toilet to do but they have ran out of flooring ,
A box is being delivered on Friday ,but they are coming back tomorrow to do as much as they can with what is left.

We have our sitting room back ,, it needs a good hoovering but at least we can sit comfortably now.
We still have skirting and doors to paint , but we will do it all slowly over the next couple of weeks before the kitchen gets done,

I intend giving everything a good wash tomorrow,
But first I must do a load of washing now my machine is back in place.

Good to hear the floor is almost finished.

I washed the towels this morning and got them out for a blow. Dried nicely.

DS1 hasn't had a chance to sort his fencing. They were shorthanded at work, so he was called in.
