Grauntie, they must have been short of news to print all that.

Had a surprise visit from DS and GS3 (the one you met in Birmingham). It was so lovely to see him and get a cuddle. GD1 and H are meeting friends and have gone swimming, they should be back soon. DD and Sil are away visiting family.

Daisy, would you consider employing help until you both feel able to cope with everything.

Oma, perhaps your Mil thought she could slip out without the medical staff noticing.

Can’t believe it’s the weekend already!
I’ve just spent some time giving the washing machine a thorough clean. It was playing up earlier in the week, so I’m hoping that this will have solved the problem 🤞
There’s an annual walking festival in this area and I’m going on one tomorrow. I should have gone last year but my hip was too painful, so I’m hoping it doesn’t play up tomorrow.
Hoping too that the weather brightens up, it’s been a bit gloomy all day after rain during the night.
GS is in the middle of A levels at the moment. He told his mum that an exam was at 1.00pm, luckily she checked before she left for work… it was at 9.00am ! He did get there on time, phew! As well as working at the leisure centre he’s got himself a job in a local pub. I think he’s got so much planned over the summer holidays, he needs all the money he can get !
Take care ladies and enjoy the rest of the evening xx
Believe you can and you're halfway there.

WG, good luck for the walk tomorrow!

Plant, what a nice surprise visit that was.

We planned to just drop our friend's birthday card through the door this morning, but she was in, came out and invited us in! We got to have a cuppa and slice of birthday cake, and meet her sister who was there, and her DD and little GS who turned up just before we left, so a very jolly morning
Her little GS has captured my heart! He is about 6 years old. We have never met him before. He was chatty and friendly and when we left he came up and gave us both a hug, I was very touched. None of my GC would do that to someone they had just met. He also has gorgeous red hair which I am partial to

DD is trying a new chicken and cashew nut recipe, so I am looking forward to dinner.
We have mostly had a very lazy day.

Wee Granny, I hope you can enjoy the walk without any pain. It's so lovely when you meet a child like that who makes instant friends with you and isn't afraid to show it. What a delightful little boy he sounds. I'm glad GS made it in time for his exam - I hope he wasn't too flustered. He's going to be a busy bee with two jobs.

Plant, surprise family visits are great, but knowing your GS3 and what a lovely person he is, I can imagine how delighted you were. No, we don't really need help as such, it more a matter of getting into different routines, and in OH's case taking on much of the cooking which he's never done before. I cooked tonight as he was gardening - planting what we bought earlier in the week, which is a bit too strenuous and hard on my back at the moment. He also gave Eva a shower with the hosepipe (she loves that!)

Gem, that chicken and cashew nut dish sounds delicious. Was it Chinese style? Did you enjoy it? How lovely to have an unexpected morning with your friend. Did she have a lovely birthday?

Good morning. Light rain here this morning.

Grauntie, sorry about the newspaper article.
People will soon forget about it.

Lizzie, the hydrangea looks lovely. That plant pot suits it.

No plans for us today, so far anyway.

Dinner is pork steak, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, veg and gravy. Mustn't forget the apple sauce.

                  Morning Nanto, ladies.

Its trying to brighten up here but it's still windy.

I cleaned the fridge out again this morning got rid of stuff that would go off by the time we get back like mushrooms, I'm always a bit worried with them.

                  Nanto
We did pork steaks last week in the air fryer, I find they stay moist in there,

                  Daisy
Gardening it too strenuous for you at the moment , only do the lightest jobs , I bet your energy levels drop quickly.

How lovely to see your lovely GS , he is a nice young man.

Hope the walk goes well today,
Your GS must have been in a panic getting to his exams , I hope he did well.

How was the meal did you enjoy it?

I think there is quite a few of our GC having exams at the moment, it's always a stressful time isn't it.

It's Lucie's 20 th today and also James's birthday so I'm off to send texts .

                    Good morning everyone.

                    Nice dinner Nan2.

Daisy and Oma, yes we did enjoy the meal! It was Chinse style, with quite a lot of fresh ginger which we both like. It was declared a success and will go on OH's repertoire

                    Are you packing today Oma?

Very windy here! It rained overnight again but it's fine now, and sunny.
                    Another golf competition for OH.
I am going to do a little trial drive to little E's new nursery today! Its only about 15-20 minutes drive but down a windy country road I'm not familiar with and I want to acquaint myself with it. I know the nursery will be closed but I should at least be able to see where the car park is. GS2 and I will be picking little E up from there on Tuesday, so I need to know!

GEMINI, I like Chinese food very much, it is gentler on the tummy than Indian for me. I hope the journey to pickup GS isn’t too stressful or you.

Daisy, my OH would have been okay with the cooking but the household chores would go to pot.

Oma, are you off tomorrow? Have a restful and enjoyable time. No looking on the top of the wardrobe for dust.

WG, enjoy your walk, it is bright atm. Good luck to your GS with his exams.

Grauntie, I am sure your sense of humour can cope with that report. They must have been short of news that day.

Nanto, No plans for me either, I don’t like to garden unless the family are around in case I fall.

DD and Sil back tomorrow. GD and H are off to the cinema this afternoon.

I was chatting to my youngest brother yesterday, they are in Majorca at the moment, he asked when I would be visiting again, I hadn't any plans at all, I was thinking about it and just got booked for a week in September, I stayed at their house the last time, a small bungalow, very welcoming but I slept on a bed settee, comfy enough until I needed the toilet in the middle of the night, plus the fact I am always awake early, the hotel I have booked is a 10 minute walk from their house so I can spend the days with them then return to the hotel. I am quite excited

GD1 has just phoned, she and BF are on their way to Delft for a sushi meal.

I'm sure you will be more comfortable in a hotel Lizzie ,,
                              Something to look forward too.
Hope GD and boyfriend enjoy their meal.

I too would prefer a hotel down the road.

I hope you enjoyed your time with the visitors Daisy.

Really windy here too Nan2. I put extra pegs on all the washing!

I found the nursery easily. It is Such a winding road with very sharp bends that I certainly won't be offering to do that trip in the dark!!
OH enjoyed the golf again and did well. Her team were 3rd of ten, and very close to 2nd .
We had a Tesco delivery this afternoon which is all now put away .
