    Happy Tuesday, everyone.

Nanto, I'd happily join your cute picnic scene if it was a bit warmer today. Pork cries out for apple sauce, in my opinion. But I do like sauces with meat, otherwise I find meat too dry, no matter how tender it is.

Oma, yes, I did get my early night, and slept like the proverbial log until 7 o'clock. Our garden furniture stays on the patio all winter, but we got the soft cushions out of the loft several weeks ago. I hope your MIL enjoys the cream cake - hopefully it means she's feeling better.

Gem, was it busy in the Library this morning? I hope OH does well in the golf competition today. Good luck with shoe shopping. It's not one of my favourite things, but I do need to get some new sandals for the summer.

We went shopping in the village this morning. There were a few things I needed to get and OH needed to go to the ironmongers for a new base for one of the water butts. It's chaos at the moment - the main road where all the shops are is closed at one end for some very unpopular alterations to the paved areas. So cars were having to turn round and go out the way they'd come in. We were lucky to get a parking space right by 3 of the shops we wanted. I was glad I didn't have to walk too far, and was exhausted by the time we got home. But at least I got everything I wanted except for a new collar for Eva. The pet shop didn't have the kind we wanted, so we'll have to go into town at some point.

OH has taken the wheels of the kit car into somewhere where they will renovate them - not sure what needs doing, to be honest, but it seems important to OH. I'm having a rest.

Cars and stuff don't interest me , when B talks about them I sort of switch off just make what I hope it the right noises every now and then😁
Does the place you get Eva's food from not sell doggie accessories?
You have done enough today rest now xx

Lizzie I don't like fruity teas either,
I used to love earl grey tea now I find it too scenty,
Gem have you tried lady grey ? I know you like Earl grey I was wondering if it was much different.

MIL was very pleased with her cake , she's on steroids and hungry all the time so eating well.
She was sitting in the chair when we went in and had been up the corridor with the physio.
      She's looking so much better,

On the way out we popped into the Macmillan centre to visit the lovely ladies that were always there for us ,
Lots of hugs and laughter they were delighted to see B looking so well .
Sat talking for a good half hour, it Was lovely to catch up.

I like fruit teas, Earl Grey and Lady Grey Lady Grey has orange in it as well as the bergamot Oma. I had a phase of buying that then went back to Earl Grey!
That sound a lovely visit to the nurses.

Daisy it was very busy at the library. I stayed later than I usually do and the time flew.
I haven't gone shoe shopping. My back was aching when I got in, then I had to hang out the washing, so just wanted a sit down! Instead I am getting on with the Minutes of last weeks meeting which need doing.
I need the shoes for my holiday so no rush really.

        Very nice sunny day here

Oma, pleased to hear MIL sounds like she is on the mend.

          We've never tried fruity teas,but i'm 100% we wouldn't like them.
Tea has to be yorkshire tea and coffee has to be nescafe.

Sauces, we like mint sauce with lamb, apple sauce with pork, and we like parslwy sauce with fish.
Neither of us likes horeradish. I've never had sauce with duck.
Speaking of duck, i've got some duck breasts in the freezer.

Pleased to say the quad passed, but hubby was confident it would.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Just got back from shopping and H and GD needed to visit the library to change H’s books, she loves her books. Sun has come out and looks set for the evening. I have bought three bows, red, white and blue to wear to games tomorrow, the theme is to mark the end of the war. I gather the managers are organising something.

Oma, pleased to read Mil is on the mend, she is a toughy. I am sure the nurses are always pleased to see B, he is their star. Lovely pic of your niece, very exciting, new baby in the family.

Gemini, we have just been to our local library to change H’s books, she loves her books. I have had times when I have liked Earl Grey tea, haven’t had it for ages. I had a back-ache after our trip, thinking of getting a walker, there are new designs on the market.

Daisy, sounds like chaos in your village. Are they going to re-tread the tyres? Or perhaps spray the rims.

Lizzie, I love sauces with my meat. Redcurrant jelly with lamb, (not so keen on mint sauce) Apple sauce with pork, Mustard with beef and so on.
What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

Plant those walkers can make lot of difference. The ones with seat on are good, so you can have a rest along the way. My auntie has one and when we take her out she will always ask 'will I need my walker?' She uses it to get about and is happy to have it, although none too pleased when her DS originally got it for her

My sister has the walker with the seat ,she doesn't go out but gets around the house with it and she can put stuff on the seat to transport to where she wants it.
She uses it in the garden too, she can sit and look at the flowers or get up the top of the garden and watch as BIL is in the greenhouse.

Oma, I'm very leased to hear your MIL is gaining strength - and theres nothing like a nice cake to set you up! I'm bet the Macmillan ladies were delighted to see B looking so well and in good spirits. I switch off with car talk as well. I try and listen, but it goes in one ear and out the other, and I still don't know what the wheels have gone in for today, except they'll look better. (Plant - it's a lot more than retreading tyres, that's all I know!).

Nanto, I've never cooked duck - OH doesn't like it! My mother would only have mint sauce. We switched to Yorkshire Tea when PG stopped doing the pyramid bags and the new ones were awful. It's always nice to get anything through an MOT.

Plant, it's lovely that H enjoys books. I think things like that start young for most children, and they never lose the enjoyment of a good book. The right design of walker could really help and having a seat sounds a useful option. If you went to a mobility shop you could try out different styles.

Gem, you were right about the library being busy today, then. No wonder your back was aching. Getting the minutes done was a good idea, and trying shoes on with an aching back isn't any fun at all. I hope the washing dried ok.

I don't like Earl Grey tea, although there are a few fruit teas I do like. Years ago I shared an office with an American lady. We'd often make tea for each other and one day she gave me this mug of tea and said "try that". It was rather pale even though there wasn't a lot of milk in it. I sipped it gingerly, but it was ok - funny but ok. She told me it was Lady Grey. I said I thought it was meant to be drunk without milk, but her reply was she was American and didn't understand such niceties. So we always put milk in it.

I've had a lazy afternoon, and just a bit of pottering round the garden before it went chilly.

Daisy most Americans don't see the point of boiling the water for tea either

Your lazy afternoon was what you needed I'm sure. With your treatments at the moment and those early appointments, rest is well deserved!

                    Minutes done and washing dried

                    Night everyone xx

Good morning, it is going to be a long day for me, hospital at 3pm and can't eat or drink after 9am so I must keep myself occupied. I do hope the young man comes to place my intercom before I have to leave, they didn't get to the top floor yesterday afternoon.

I went to the meeting last night, that is where I do the cash control for, an interesting evening, I missed 15 minutes as I had to pick my new soles up, that was in the next building.

The only tea I do like has nothing to do with tea at all, ginger tea with a touch of lemon. DIL1 and the girls all drink Yorkshire tea with milk! Very unusual here in the Netherlands.

Oma, will your MIL be allowed home? My friends mother, UK, was rushed to the hospital on Monday with a bowel bleed, she is 94 years old! She seems to be doing well and should be allowed home today.

Plant, lovely that H loves books. I agree with the others, get advice for a walker, make sure that you walk behind it and not "in" it. One of the ladies there last night, she has had an operation on her back, suffered a few years, cancer of the spine, she uses a walker at the moment, she was saying she should make more use of it though.

I went to the gym yesterday, got to start sometime, the young man was telling me there are so many ill for the airways virus.

I had my hair cut yesterday afternoon, much shorter, I looked in the mirror when I was ill and decided to have it shorter.

                        Good morning.

Lizzie, hope your appointment goes well.

Plant, not many children seem to bother with books, so I think it's lovely that H likes them.

Still talking about tea, DIL drinks green tea. First time I made her one, I put milk in it, not knowing you don't put milk in. Either way, it doesn't look very nice. I've not tried it.

If the weather is like yesterday, hubby might be painting. He'll be using the pait sprayer, not a brush. He's hoping to paint a bench, it's a bit too fiddly for using a brush.
I'll probably just watch him, and try not to get in the way.

I think dinner might be chips, fish fingers and beans.

Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

                          Morning Nanto/ Ladies

                          Lizzie
Hope your in and out quickly.

                          Daisy
Did you sleep well how you feeling this morning?

                          Gem
I agree with Daisy, trying shoes on when your back is hurting isn't wise, you need to be relaxed and get a feeling for the shoe.

                          Nanto
Fiddly bits are a pain to paint with a brush and I think a spray gives a better look to the finish.

I like Johnsons tea the Irish blend is lovely, I always have my tea black.
B hates tea even the smell but he makes a good cup for me πŸ˜€

Yesterday was the last treatment on my leg , I can't say it's better but it's not as bad ,
They said they would hold the appointment open for 2 years in case I needed to go back,
But even they couldn't say what it was so I'm in limbo not knowing what's wrong .
                          Medical mystery 😁

Joiner coming sometime this morning, a couple of my kitchen doors have dropped and the hinges that are on doesn't have a adjustment screw so we think they may need new hinges.

                            Good morning everyone.

Lizzie, I hope all goes smoothly today. You will be ready for something to eat after your appointment

Nan2 I don't like green tea at all. It's good for us, but I cant drink it.

Plant all my GC have loved books. GS1 is now not keen on reading at all, but hopefully that will change again one day. GS2 reads avidly!

Oma, it must be disappointing that although a bit better there is no real improvement to your leg.

Aqua this morning. None of us will be staying for coffee as we are all going to the theatre this afternoon! We four plus my friend J are going to see a matinee of A Midsummer Nights Dream.
One friend's OH kindly offered to drive us in. He can't pick us up so my OH is doing that. J will go by bus as she lives on the other side of town.

                              Good Wednesday morning, everyone.

Lizzie, I feel for you over having to wait till 3 p for a fasting appointment. The more you think about it, the hungrier you feel. I would take a snack to have immediately the treatment is finished just to push you blood sugar up a bit and stop you getting shaky. I always take a banana for after treatment, even though I can eat and drink normally beforehand. Good for your DIL and GDs, enjoying a good cup of "proper" tea. That virus seems to have been very widespread, from what the young man at the gym said. I hope you weren't aching this morning. Will your new shorter hairstyle be easier to care for?

Nanto, I hope it's not too windy for your OH to use a paint sprayer. It's blowing hard here. I'm sure he won't get into the same mess as your painting teddy, though! . I'm sure I'd have done the same with the green tea. If you don't know, you don't know. I know it's supposed to be good for you, but I couldn't drink it all the time. A nice easy dinner for you today.

Oma, I've never tried Johnson's Irish blend, but it sounds interesting, but tea without plenty of milk makes me feel queasy. I'm glad there's some improvement in your leg after that rather painful treatment, but it's surprising no-one can actually pinpoint the problem for you. You could make medical history! It's annoying when doors drop like that. Hopefully yours are now fixed.

Gem, what a lovely day - aqua and then the theatre. A Midsummer Night's Dream was the first Shakespeare play I ever read, but I've never seen it on stage. I'm sure you will all enjoy it. I bet there will be some great special effects. Getting chauffeured there and back is luxury.

I slept well again last night but woke at 6 to go to the bathroom. While I was up I thought I'd give Eva the tablet she needs one hour before her breakfast, so I went back to bed and set the alarm. I've had a lazy morning (again!) and OH has gone to see his car buddies. I was hoping to potter round the garden for a bit, but it's very windy, and chilly out of the sun. I might just have a day off!

Daisy, I have a banana in my bag, plus a sandwich! Such a long morning, having to keep myself out of reach of coffee etc!

Yes, my hair is much easier to handle, I looked in the mirror whilst I was ill and wondered where that old lady had come from!!! Feels much better now though.
