What a day. Hubby didn't get the gate done. One of his pals came full of woe.
He's having marital problems,so me and hubby were playing counsellor.
He stayed most of the day and had something to eat with us.
When he eventually went home,we both felt awful for him.
Sadly,we can't sort out his marital problems. To be honest,i hope he doesn't come again.

Lizzie, I'm sorry I didn't see your post this morning. I can't imagine doing circuit training any time, let alone in this heat. What a nuisance that lift is. I wish they could get it sorted out once and for all. I'm sure GD1 will have lots to tell you when you speak to her. The open meal sounds wonderful. I do admire people who seem to be able to produce three course meals for a large number of people without any apparent effort. The food sounds delicious.

Plant, I'm sorry to hear you're suffering from a sore throat. There seem to be a lot about. Take care and rest. Sending hugs. xxx

Nanto, it's difficult to know what to say when a friend tells you about personal problems. I'm sure you and your Hubby were both very thoughtful and kind to the man. Let's hope he was able to sort things out when he went back home.

Oma, it must have been baking hot in the loft. I hope you both relaxed and cooled down afterwards.

We've had a lovely day, although we ended up going into the house - it was too warm to sit in the garden. I'm tired now and ready for an early night.

          Good morning.
Yesterday wasn't too warm, we had more cloud than sun. It was still very pleasant though.

I didn't think I would get to sleep last night, thinking about hubby's friend, but I did. Hubby rang him last night, and friend said he felt better for having got things off his chest.

Plant, hope you feel better soon.
Daisy did you manage to get some sleep?

Not sure what is happening about dinner yet.
We might be going to the pub with sis in law and hubby. If they can't make it, we might get a KFC.

Asda delivery coming between 9 and 10.

Good morning, I hope the lift gets sorted as well Daisy!

I admire the cook as well, the meal was really good. I have to ask my neighbour for the app, then I can see the menu's.

Nanto, I had the same with hubbies son when he came, all his problems, I (we) don't need all that. I hope that your friend gets it all sorted.

I actually got my papers delivered to the doctor yesterday, I seem to have been preparing them for months! I told the doctor, I only hope that it isn't needed!

              Morning ladies,

              Lizzie
That lady needs training on that scooter , that can't go on damaging the lift all the time.
The meal sounds such fun , will you go again if invited?

              Nanto
Have a good lunch whatever you end up with 😁

              Plant
              How do you feel today?
These sore throat viruses are everywhere and in this heat you feel drained don't you ,
              Take care lovely lady xxx

              Daisy
It was too warm wasn't it , did you sleep?
We were so hot during the night even with all the windows open .

I'm off to Aldi for a few bits then B has Bloods at 1 , so can't pick MIL up to go shopping till 2 .
Means all our day is taken up again
She wants to go to Aldi and Morrisons, I could leave going for my stuff at Aldi till then but I wouldn't get what I wanted running around after her.

We did want to pick her up at 11 then get back for Bs appointment but she wasn't having that , 11 is too early apparently.
Im not fat just 6ft too small

                Good morning everyone.

Oma 11 was Too Early for my mum too. I used to say that her 11am was everyone else's 6am!

I hope your throat is a bit better Plant. I sympathise!

Nan2 your hubby's friend will have felt better for the time spent with you both, even though it was draining for you.

Daisy I hope you slept well after your early night.

Little E day today. Little S next door's Grandma has her on Thursdays too. I will message her later to see if they want to come over if not going out.
Hot here already, we have had breakfast under the parasol.
Off to shower and dress before E arrives. Back later.

Oma, I hope to be able to go again for the meal.

I have just been to a huge garden/fresh centre at the other side of Zoetermeer.
Welkom bij Van der Spek, vroeger bekend als ‘het appelboertje’

If you can open the site, I see that they have won centre of the year! Years ago when DH and myself came home from a holiday or whatever we could call in for fruit and veg, it was like in an old barn place and they sold the plants round the back, it has changed since then! I think they built the new one last year. I wanted some new pots for in here, I went to the centre in the village yesterday, very expensive, got the same pots today 75% cheaper, the same goes for the fruit, veg, cheese etc. I will certainly be going again, I can go on the bike if I don't need the pots. M next door often goes with her daughter, I told DS1 and DIL, now they go as well.

Plant, I hope that your throat is easier today.

Oma, the lady is not sure of herself on the scooter and never will be, it is her only form of transport so she hasn't much choice, we don't either!

I am going to get my plants sorted.

hope the lift is fixed soon.

How do the weeds grow when the flowers wither? Trying to keep the plants alive in the hot courtyard, perhaps I should give up this year. Ladies tennis today, not so keen to watch.

Oma, I can understand your Mil isn’t wanting to go shopping too early but 11am seems reasonable.

I am wondering how GD is managing to keep H in the shade, they are in Newquay until Tuesday. Ladies tennis atm, not so exciting as the men’s. Sil is going to the Isle of Man with old school friends to meet up with a friend who lives there now. With the others away DD and I are on our own. Very unusual for us.

Gemini, Good idea to invite the other GM, the children will be happy to play together.

Nanto, I am sure you and your OH are very sympathetic with your friend with marriage problems but difficult to take on his problems.

Lizzie, Looks the sort of place you could spend hours and lots of money.

Daisy, No chance to sit in the garden, it is much too hot.

                        Good Thursday afternoon, everyone.

Nanto, it's good to know that chatting to you and your hubby helped the friend. The pub or a KFC are better than cooking in this hot weather. Was. your Asda delivery ok?

Lizzie, I hope those papers aren't needed as well. How lovely if you can enjoy more of those meals. Does the lady with the mobility scooter problems realise she isn't very good with it? Is there anybody who could give her advice to improve her driving? It must be hard for her if she realises she's not confident with it. That garden centre looks amazing, and to me it looks very reasonably priced, certainly compared with garden centres here.

Oma, what a nuisance that you've had to put off your shopping till this afternoon - I know you usually like to do it early, especiallt in this hot weather. I hope B's bloods are ok.

Plant, are you feeling better today? I do hope so.

Gem, it's lovely that little E has got a playmate next door to you, and as they get older the year's difference in their ages gets less obvious. I'm sure they have lots of fun.

OH has just got back from taking his car to the carwash (he ran out of time the other day), and he said he got stuck there for 45 minutes. I'll let you know why when he's told me the tale of woe.

Daisy, the garden centre is even much cheaper for us! I got lovely new pots, much cheaper than here in village. The fresh flower department seemed to be very busy (cool with it) as well. I will certainly be going again.

The lady knows that she can't handle the scooter, she is in her 80's now, used to use her bike, she was very careful on that as well. I don't know how she could get more confidence.

GD1 is coming, if she is coming for a meal or just visiting I don't know. We shall see.

We are back from shopping with MIL ,
It was too hot to put up with her nonsense today , but she was sort of ok,she tired very quickly so we didn't hang around, got what she wanted and straight back home.

Yes, it would be very hot for someone MIL's age Oma.

That is a nice garden centre Lizzie.
Did your GD stay to eat?

That was a lengthy car wash visit for your OH Daisy.

I hope you have managed to keep cool Plant.

We didn't get together with little S and her Grandma. They went out, and by the time they were back little E was napping.
E and I have been indoors mostly today, with the fan on, and a fan in his room for nap time. We had a nice day

Plant, sorry I didn't respond to your earlier post. I typed my post and OH came home before I hit "send", so I sent it much later, and missed yours. Yes, I agree, it's too hot to sit in the garden today. OH watched the ladies' tennis this afternoon. He said they were two very different games. I think with this weather, most things in pots are struggling a bit, but I agree, weeds seems to thrive no matter what.

Lizzie, I'd be visiting that garden centre all the time!

Gem, I bet little E slept well with the fan to keep him cool. Is he sleeping ok at night?

Oma, I don't wish your MIL to be suffering in the heat, but at least you got the shopping done without too much hassle. xx

The car wash saga! Every time OH visits this particular car wash something seems to go wrong. Once he waited in a queue for nearly an hour, and something went wrong with the machine when he was the next car due in, and it was too late in the day to get an engineer out to it. Anyway, today he decided to go there again - they do a good job and he likes it better than the one he took mine to a few days ago. He intended to go early, but overslept, and then the window cleaner arrived, and we always make him a coffee and have a chat, so it was 12 o'clock before he left. He was pleased to see there wasn't a huge queue at the car wash, and after about 10 minutes he was the next one in the queue, behind a Land Rover. Suddenly he saw the LR being lifted up. The roller on the wash machine had got hooked underneath the LR's bull bar at the front and lifted it right off the ground! The operator was worried about causing untold damage either to the LR or the arm of the machine, so had to wait for someone to come and fix it. The man was very apologetic for keeping OH waiting, but at least he was in the shade, and he did come home with a nice shiny car. So between that and a traffic jam, an hour's job took well over 2 hours!

I haven't done much today - just a couple of loads of washing which dried almost as I hung it out on the line. It's definitely too hot to do the ironing, though.
