    Good morning. Sun is shining.

Daisy, the cats in yesterday's graphic do look like Rag Dolls.
Hope you manage to get a holiday during your fortnightly appointments.

We are not going out today, I hate staying in on a Saturday.
Hubby is determined he's going to get his spraying done.
I'm going to get the grass cut.

Oma, how time flies. Can't imagine Storm being 10 this year.

Chicken tikka and rice ready meal for hubby, I'll probably have a cheese omelette.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

      Good Saturday morning, everyone.

It's a nice sunny day here, so I hope it's the same for everyone.

Nanto, at least you and hubby will both have something to show for your stay-at-home Saturday. Our lawn isn't growing very quickly at the moment with all the dry weather, but as soon as it rains I'm sure it will quickly turn into a jungle! My cousin, who was very involved with cat rescue in London thought that Rag Doll cats often suffered with breathing problems because of their flat faces. She loved all cats, but preferred more conventional faces.

It's a day of domestic stuff for us - at lest the washing will dry outside.

        Morning ladies
        It's a lovely day,
I did the washing at 6 so that went out straight away,
We have been all over already ,
First we went to farm foods then drove to B&M seen GS so got a cuddle, then next door to Iceland

We were going to the farm shop to get MIL a cake to take in this afternoon but we will go on our way to the hospital,
        It's only a short detour.

B cleaned all the window and door frames with UPVC cleaner yesterday at the back,
He's now doing the front windows ,
It's surprising how dirty they get, you wash them and think they are clean till you use this stuff on them.

When we were in Iceland I bought a bar of this Dubai chocolate everyone is raving about,
It's ok but I wouldn't buy it again it's nothing special, all hype with these things isn't it.

        Daisy
It's the same with dogs that are bred to have flat faces they have all sorts of breathing difficulties.
It's cruel and it should be stopped.
It would do you good to get a holiday squeezed in just so you can relax and do nothing,
We are going to try in the next few weeks once most of Bs appointments are done with.

        Nanto
I'm like you if B is having something I don't like I either have a nice omelette or a salad of some kind ,
I'm having chicken salad tonight as he's having Beef burnt ends , not my cup of tea , I will try one but that's my limit.

Im not fat just 6ft too small

          Morning everyone.
A lovely sunny one here too

Daisy, I really hope you get something booked in to go away. You need a break.
OH enjoyed the golf thank you. They didn't win but did well and had a good day.

I'm either suffering from hayfever or a cold. I'm hoping hayfever! I was outside a lot yesterday and pollen levels are now high for both trees and grass.
DD, SIL and GS3 are coming over for tea and staying the night. SIL is leaving early in the morning to take a train to Devon to go on a silent retreat DD can drive him to the station and GS stay here.
We need cat litter so will be going out today for that at least.

Lovely sunny day here but not very warm. GD and family have gone to a local Fete so I am having a quiet day. DD and Sil due back Monday, I have loved seeing more of H, she is such a character. Although we have sunshine, the wind is very cool. I think the sunroom might be a good place to be.

Gemini, pleased to hear S had a good time although she did not win. Have a lovely time with the family. A silent retreat for Sil, not sure I could manage that.

Daisy, I hope that you both manage a short break, perhaps an hotel and be waited on.

Oma, I hope you and B manage a holiday too. Haven’t heard about the chocolate.

The bench didn't get sprayed. A few weeks ago, hubby told bro in law he would help him take down the kitchen units.
They are having a new kitchen in a couple of weeks.

Our nephew, the one who does the decorating is in hospital.
He has been in the local hospital for 3 days, but today they have transferred him to Sheffield.
He has inflamed optic nerve to his brain. As of yet,we don't know what the next step of treatment is.

Gem, glad OH enjoyed the golf, even though they didn't win.

Nanto, the best laid plans, but the bench will get done one day. It's lovely that your OH is willing to go and help somebody else at short notice. He's a kind man. How worrying for your nephew. I do hope it's easily treated, but it sounds as though he's in good hands. I think it's something that can be caused by lots of things, so I suppose they have to do a careful detailed diagnosis to get the right treatment.

Gem, I hope it's hayfever, as well. The pollen count must be very high at the moment. I was watching petals flying off the horse chestnut tree on the pavement outside our house. It was like snow! And the pollen is covering the cars yet again. I can't imagine what a silent retreat is like, but it should be peaceful. Modern life is so hectic for most younger people so having a chance to slow down and "smell the roses" must be a good thing. Is your SIL3 away for a week? At least S enjoyed the golf, and I'm sure it was a lovely course to play on, with plenty of fresh sea air.

Oma, how is GS enjoying his holiday job? I won't bother to try the Dubai chocolate after what you said. It's amazing how something can be hyped up so suddenly. I agree about Brachy dogs - it's so sad when you see them struggling to breathe, and they don't seem to enjoy life like most dogs do. I have to ask - what are Beef Burnt Ends? . How was MIL? Did you get her a nice cake?

Plant, you've had a busy few days, so I hope today was a day of relaxation and enjoying the sun in your sun room, out of the wind.

When we get a holiday it will be in the caravan. Well stay local - even going to the Jurassic coast isn't far, but it feels like a proper break, and we don't do much cooking - eating out is definitely favourite. It's very relaxing once everything is set up.

Oh Nan2 I hope your nephew gets better soon.

Daisy, I sometimes think even a night away in your own town is a break from the norm!

Such a busy day, I never got back here!
We had a slow lazy start to the day. Then C and P came to drop off OH's birthday card and stayed for a drink and catch up in the garden. Then OH's golf partner called to drop off her jacket which she'd left in her car yesterday.
We then had lunch and went to buy cat litter and a couple of things from Tesco.
We had hardly got through the door when DD,SIL and GS3 arrived. We spent time with them in the garden, and then bought fish and chips which we all ate in the garden. It was very nice eating together outside. Once little E was asleep we spent the evening inside with Rummikub and chat

Off to bed now. Still with a sore throat and not feeling too well. Still don't know whether it's due to hay fever!
DD is driving SIL to the station at 7.20 in the morning, and if little E is awake I will be looking after him!
                  Night everyone.

Good morning. Nanto I do hope that your nephew gets better soon.

Gem, How is your cold/hay fever, difficult to know the difference.

It is Mothers day here today.

I see that Dubai chocolate here, I have never tasted it though.

I was talking to a young neighbour yesterday, she was only saying how the young ones of today never seem to relax. Her daughter was saying that her work is so hectic that she is either working or sleeping, that is a young girl. I hear it so often.

Plant, you must take it easy when you have the chance.

We got a new intercom system fitted on Wednesday, they tested it whilst I was at the hospital, my door bell works, I hear the bell from the door, but, I can't hear anyone speaking or open the door for them, my neighbour has the same so we will have to phone tomorrow, the young man said to phone if it wasn't working right.

Good morning. Another sunny day in store.

Hope its a less busy day for us.
We got loads done in the garden yesterday, then both of us had a shower.
Went to help bro in law, so both had another shower. It was quite dusty getting their old kitchen units down.

                      Gem,hope you feel better soon.

Lizzie, hopefully the new intercom system will be sorted soon.

Dinner is duck breasts. Roast potatoes and veg.

                        Morning Nanto

                        Nanto
It's spooky how we often have the same meals , we had Duck breasts with potatoes and asparagus a few nights ago
Taking cupboards down is hard work, definitely not a one man job as you get older.

                        Lizzie
You need to get the intercom sorted , hopefully they will come out quickly.

                        Gem
How are you feeling today, do you think it is a cold developing?
Was GS awake when mummy took Daddy to the station this morning?
I like when you can get together to eat and especially when is nice outside.

                        Daisy
Even staying local is a good break for you.
MIL is fine putting weight on, eating everything put in front of her,
We took her a giant peach Melba in yesterday it will last her two days, the nurse put it in the fridge.
Burnt ends are the ends of meat that are caramelised, it's a thing at the minute ,I say it's a way of getting money off the waste but B likes them😁

GS enjoying it he works from 5 am till 9 am so has the rest of the day to himself , he said it's a easy job.

We off to meet him D&J and DD& SIL for Breakfast well brunch really at 10 by the time we order and eat it will be about 11 so class it as brunch 😁

                          Good Sunday morning, everyone.

Lizzie, young people never relaxing and always busy seems to be universal these days. I'm sure it must add to the rise in their health and mental health problems. I don't know what the answer is, but I hope there is one because that kind of life isn't sustainable. It's very sad. I hope your intercom is fixed quickly.

Nanto, you had a busy but productive day yesterday, even if you didn't get your usual outing into town. The duck sounds delicious, but my OH doesn't like it so I never cook it.

Gem, how are you feeling now? Fingers still crossed it's hay fever. Do you take anything for it? Fish and chips are great. When you can eat them outside they're even better! Those warm evenings in the garden are the ones we remember in the depths of winter, aren't they. I hope your SIL 'enjoys' the retreat. I don't know if enjoy is the right word, but it would be interesting to know how he describes it when he's back home.

Oma, good to hear GS is enjoying his summer job. The hours certainly suit him if he's ok with the early start. I have to say burnt ends don't sound wonderful to me, but they are probably very tasty. Brunch is much more to my liking. I hope you have a lovely time. Good to hear MIL is gaining weight. I wonder if having food put in front of her every mealtime will make her think some kind of sheltered care would work for her. I know you make lots of meals for her, but even the effort of reheating them might be too much for her sometimes.

Plant, I think it's a bit warmer today, and less breezy. Is it another day for relaxing in your sun room before the family gets back tomorrow?

I've had a slow relaxed start to the day, which always seems to help at the moment. OH is helping our neighbour to put up a shed. It's against our boundary fence so they are having to work in both gardens to fix the roof and then felt it. They work well together and enjoy each other's company. I want to go and potter in the garden, and trim the edges of the lawn, plus some deadheading. Nothing too strenuous!

                            Happy Mother's Day Lizzie! 🌹

                            Nice dinner Nan2.

Enjoy a day in the garden Daisy, not too strenuous!

I hope you have a good brunch Oma. Little E was still asleep when his mum and dad left. By the time DD got back he was chatting to his Peter Rabbit toy in bed
We all had breakfast together and E and I had a play with cars and garage before he and DD went off

Our friend J is coming to lunch. We will eat inside but probably spend the rest of the afternoon in the garden.
Cold or hay fever I still feel rotten, but am soldiering on!
Daisy I am taking antihistamine tablets, Beconase nasal spray, and painkillers plus plenty of water.

We went to a new place at our shopping mall, it's called Cantoro lounge it's only been open a few months,
DD has been several times and said it was lovely.
I got buttermilk pancakes with crispy streaky bacon and maple syrup.
My goodness the best breakfast ever .
We all came out very satisfied, GS had a full breakfast , that boy has hollow legs goodness knows where he puts it 😁
