    Good Wednesday morning, everyone.

Nanto, gammon egg and chips is one of my OH's favourites when we eat out. I'd be choosing scampi like your OH! It's funny with the kitchen. It can look perfectly clean and tidy, but you clean it anyway and it definitely looks better. It's weird.

Gem, aqua and a massage sounds like a good day. A lot of classes and groups stop between Christmas and New Year, don't they.

It's the last dog training today, but we can't start up again in January because the Council has decided to replace the roof on the village hall. It's a rickety old building anyway, and they don't seem to be able to stop the present corrugated roof from leaking. We don't mind the leaks, but probably not so good for other groups that use the hall. We have been offered other venues, but they're not suitable for various reasons. Hopefully we can do some group walks in the Forest in the afternoons, but that's not practical for the evening classes when it's dark.

OH has gone to play cars with his pals. I sent him off with a dozen mince pies. I got up early this morning and made them! While I've got the Magimix out I'll make some more pastry and pop it in the fridge for later.

      Morning ladies
Did some washing and then went to Aldi,
      That wind is cutting.
B didn't cough much during night but still not great , me on the other hand I'm fine apart from my hip pain ,
What a lot of crocs we are 😁

      Nanto
I would choose gammon any time it's a favourite of mine when I don't fancy anything else on the menu.

      Daisy
I agree , the kitchen looks fine but for some reason always looks better as you say after you clean it again 😁
Shame about the village hall but I suppose it will be a benefit to all once it's done.

      Gem
You will miss Aqua over the Christmas but it's something to look forward to after isn't it.
Hows the cystitis? Has it cleared up, I so hope so as it's not what you need over the holidays is it xx

We needed something silly for Josh for the secret Santa, we have bought his main presents and giving him money but B got him to buy for

We couldn't think of anything then my hairdresser came up with a brilliant and funny idea ,
      A Β£20 Greggs gift voucher,
She gave her DD a Greggs and a Costa voucher last year she said it went down a storm ,
So I have just been in and got one ,
B is going to write on the card,To the man who has everything πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

GD cleaning for me and changed my bed so I am a bit restricted with space. GD has just opened a fresh pair of Marigold gloves and there are 2 left hand gloves in the packet!. H at nursery, she wasn’t too well yesterday but was okay this morning, this is her last day until the New Year. Her speech still isn’t good, the school have picked up on it. they have already had it checked by their doctor. Her mother was the same and had to have grommets.

A food voucher sounds like a good idea Oma. I am pleased to say I have finished present buying now. I hope B will be feeling a lot better soon and able to enjoy your family Christmas.

Daisy, that meeting place does sound as if it needs an overhaul. Well done providing mince pies for the men playing cars.

Gemini, I hope the medicine has cleared the attack of cystitis.

Good afternoon, it is very windy, again, here, I read in the news that is has been the darkest December in 30+ years, hardly any sun at all, I knew that without them telling me!! So dark and dismal.

I have been to the circuit training, came home to get changed to go back for the lunch, I wasn't going to go but changed my mind, I am pleased I did as the lunch and company were both very good.

I am doing coffee this evening, the last time on a Wednesday evening for the time being, up to now 5 volunteers have quitted, the lady in charge wants to get all the problems sorted out before there is no one left! We have a meeting on Jan. 6th

Gem, I hope you enjoyed aqua, ours isn't until January 6th, we never have them in the school holidays.

Daisy, I hope that you manage come good walks with the other people during the holidays.

Nanto, I don't mind cleaning, only, the inside of the kitchen cupboards is not my favourite work.

My friend in the UK has just told me that my DS1 called in to see them, I hope he calls in at the butchers in the next village for my beef suet, M makes face cream for me, I have never had such good cream

Well B wasn't well again lunch time so I rang the Drs explained everything and told them about 111 advice he wouldn't take,
Said come round we will get him in to see Dr

He has a Bronchial chest infection plus ear infection and flu.
Dr said should have been seen sooner,( well we all know that,)
He has put him on a strong dose of antibiotics to get a grip on things so fingers crossed these do the job.

If he had gone when told he would be feeling a bit better by now.
He kept saying he felt better but I knew he wasn't , he's grey and looks awful .
men what can you do with them 🫀

            Plant
Pleased little H is feeling well enough to go to nursery, maybe she needs an ear test , and as you say maybe grommets,
A nice fresh bed to get into tonight lovely πŸ˜€
Someone somewhere has two right marigolds 🀣🀣

            Lizzie
I hate dark dreary days , everything is gloomy isn't it.
Do they not sell suet there?
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oma, not very easy to get suet here, plus the butchers in the UK should have %100 beef.

I hope that the medicine helps B, as you say, if he had gone in at the weekend!!!!!!

Lizzie, I've used vegetarian suet in dumplings and it's been fine - if that is easier to get! But I hope your DS1 gets the real thing for you. Have people left where you do the coffee because of specific problems, or is it just that their lives have moved on to something else? Hopefully the meeting in January will get things sorted.

Oma, if there were 2 of your B you could bang their heads together! Thank goodness he's at last been to the doctors and got antibiotics. I bet your GS will love his Secret Santa gift! What a good idea, especially for a young man who is probably always ready for a snack or meal!

Plant, I had to laugh about the Marigold gloves. It seems a lot of children who don't hit the 'targets' for speech need grommets. On the other hand, children progress at all sorts of different rates, and H sounds like a lively and sociable little girl and perhaps too busy with having fun to chat a lot. I'm glad she didn't miss her last day at nursery - I bet they had lots of fun.

                Gem, how was the massage?

We're counting our lucky stars today! A huge area in and around Southampton is, yet again, without water. The same thing happened, I think it was 2 Christmas's ago. It's likely to be off until Sunday, and included our post code! Lucky for us - it's the other side of our PC area, and we are ok - so far!!

Dog training was fun. We played party games - musical mats, catch the treat, a recall/stop game (which Eva is rubbish at!), silly games with boxes and funniest of all - retrieve the sausage. Pam put a lovely big sausage on the floor at one end of the room. You send your dog down to fetch it and get them to retrieve it to you. As you'd expect most of the dogs snaffled their sausage immediately. Eva came back to me with the sausage only half eaten, and one dog refused to touch her sausage at all! We ended up playing flyball and the dogs were taking all sorts of liberties and not listening to instructions.

Lizzie, I don't want to disappoint you, but now the UK isn't part of the EU, you're not allowed to take fresh meat/ products in. DS was planning to take sausages and bacon back with him, but discovered he'd face a large fine if they were found in his luggage. He didn't want to risk it, so didn't take anything fresh. The last time I asked for suet, the butcher didn't have any. I always used to put it on a joint of beef when roasting. Great for the roasties!

Oma, pleased you've finally got B to the doctor's. Hopefully the antibiotics won't take long to kick in.

Daisy, thank you for asking about my progress. I'm happy with how I'm coming along. I'm trying to walk about 30 minutes a day outside, very slow and still with one crutch, but at least I'm getting some fresh air. No crutches indoors which I'm pleased about and the stairs don't seem like climbing a mountain! Today, I plucked up courage and drove the car. First time in 6 weeks! I only went to the little car park and practised emergency stops and reversing, but it felt ok. I shall try and do a bit each day now. There is still a bit of pain, but it's mostly in my femur and I'm assuming that's the bone growing around the spike. The athritic pain has gone!

I'm all ready for Christmas, even got the wrapping done! Going to DD's for the day, so no cooking for me!

Plant, hope you're doing ok and pleased that H is on the mend!

Hope all poorly people are soon feeling well and that everybody has a good evening!

Oma, So relieved to read that B has at last seen a medic. Not surprised he is that poorly, naughty man. Let’s hope he will be on the mend now.

H has had her last day at nursery before Christmas. I have been to my last Board Games until the New Year. We had lovely refreshments paid for by Waitrose, although they came from M&S. That is all my parties and activities until the New Year.

                      WeeGranny, our posts crossed.

It's great to read about your progress, and it certainly seems to be going well. You must be so pleased to be driving and being free from the arthritic pain is wonderful. I think a 30 minute walk sound really good going, especially with only one crutch. Thanks for updating us. You sound like a model patient. xx

WG, hello! Driving, walking with one crutch, none in the house, I'm impressed

Oma, thank goodness B now has the antibiotics!

Lizzie, our next Wednesday class will be January 6th, but I'm hoping there may be a Monday one on the 30th.

Daisy was that Eva's Christmas party?!

Thanks to all who asked, the cystitis is much improved but not totally gone. I am hoping the improvement continues!
Our aqua instructor brought in a tin of Quality Street for us all the take one as we left the pool. She worked us very hard today so we deserved a chocolate!
I had more muscle pain than I realised today - some extremely painful areas during the massage! It really helps though and I can stand it.
This afternoon we watched film on TV, which I have written about on the TV section.

Some little local s**t has cut the wire to one of our sets 0f outdoor lights. We have some which plug into a box on the front of the house but 2 sets which are battery powered and on timers. Those are further from the house and easy to access when walking past. It happened sometime during the evening yesterday. Sadly the Ring camera didn't catch them as its not in the zone.

WG, DS always returns home with bacon, gammon etc so I hope he can smuggle the suet in, it is me that gets checked every time I do through the customs.

You are doing well with the hip.

Oma, hope B's antibiotics kick in soon.

WG, lovely to hear how well you are doing.

Speaking of gift vouchers, we have put one in both sons and GD1 presents, just for little extras.
All 3 of them like to shop in Iceland, so thats what we bought.

Lizzie, speaking of suet,i always used to make mine with it,then i started buying Aunt Bessies frozen ones.
I have decided to try dumpling mix,so they are on my Asda order for tomorrow.

Good morning everyone, Nanto, my mum used to make dumplings with suet, they don't have dumplings here!

I went to do coffee last night, the last time on a Wednesday evening, there is so much going on there, 6 of the volunteers have stopped!!! There is a meeting on the 6th so we shall see what they have to say! It is a monumental building we use, when the one man was always there I went early to get the coffee etc ready, last week I was alone for the first 30 minutes and didn't like it, when the one man came I asked if I should be alone, he said " certainly not"! He mailed the lady in charge, she said she understood but that there were "things" happening, the next day we all received a mail saying there would be no more help there on a Wednesday evening, no one can understand it all but we shall see. Yesterday afternoon I got a message from the man that was working last night saying he would be there earlier so I wasn't on my own, I thought that was so kind of him!
