It's wild here , B had to go out and rescue the packing from my new tumble dryer , it was behind the bin ready to go to the tip but it decided to try and throw itself over next door.
My niece just text there is a massive tree blocking the main road into town,
    Rain is lashing down.

DD walked Storm over this morning we told her off she's just getting over this virus but she said she needed to get out , it wasn't too bad then but B insisted on taking them home.

I think we should all stay in today! We did go to Sainsbury's a couple of miles away this morning but were glad to get back!
I feel sorry for those in Wales. I hope Clover stays safe.

I'm glad you had a better night Oma. One of the many drawbacks of being ill like that is needing to change sheets more often - but being too tired to!

I'm not quite sure where today has gone, but it has! By the time I'd finished doing the freezer it was lunch time. We sat and chatted for a bit afterwards, then I caught up on several Whats App messages I should have replied to a couple of days ago. By 2.30 it appeared to be getting dark and the wind had dropped slightly so I took Eva out for a quick walk. She was frightened this morning because the wind was rattling the garage door. We just went round the block - there weren't many people about!!

Oma, sorry I meant to say, pleased to hear your routine check ups were clear. It's always a weight off your mind, isn't it. How is B now? Was Storm bothered by the weather? Are you happy with your new tumble drier?

Gem, did you get your apple cake made? It's one of my favourites.

Nanto, did you go into town anyway?

WeeGranny, did you stay home in the end? It's disappointing when the weather messes up something you would have enjoyed, but if it was very stormy better safe than sorry. xx

Daisy , yes, apple cake was made this afternoon. We have plenty of apples from our tree in the shed.

            Good morning,still very windy here.

We did go into town yesterday and got what we wanted/needed.

No plans for today, will just see how the day pans out.

Easy dinner today. I took a homemade ready meal out of the freezer yesterday.
Its only sliced potatoes, onions and corned beef.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good morning, I hope the wind has dropped , it has here, it is still very wet though. Clover, you would hardly get any sleep from the storm.

There has been an awful tragedy here in Den Haag, a flat building blown up, they suspect a fire bomb, completely destroyed 5 homes I think I read, 5 bodies have been recovered with two more in IC!

DS1 called in yesterday, they had been to Ikea in the morning, he needed to return something, 45 minutes in a queue! In that time DILl and GD2 managed to get what they wanted in the store.

                Good morning everyone,

Still wild and windy here too Nan2.

We have friends coming for lunch. It's tricky to know what to give them. One is vegetarian and doesn't like eggs. The other is fussy. She doesn't like potatoes in any form apart from chips or roast, and too many other things to mention! We often do a pasta dish, have done veggie casseroles and sweet and sour, as Fussy One does like rice
Today I have opted for Tesco Finest pizzas. We will do baked potatoes AND chips, coleslaw and salad. I made an apple cake to serve warm with ice cream or custard. We will drive them home as their Christmas present from us is heavy. We would pick them up too as Sunday buses aren't so frequent but it was hard enough to get them to agree to a lift one way!!

I hope you are all OK today and not suffering too much from the storm.

                  Morning ladies,
It's still wet and wild here has been all night.

Lizzie those poor people how awful.
IKEA queues are notorious, the checkouts are the same.

                  Gem
Nightmare guests to cater for but I'm sure whatever you provide will be enjoyed.
Have they met the kittens yet or will this be the first time?

                  Daisy
Yes tumble dryer is good it shows how slow my other one was now as this dries quickly,
You don't realise till you compare do you.
Storm doesn't like wind in his ears but it wasn't too bad when they walked over.

                  Nanto
Days like this when you appreciate having something you can just take out of the freezer, enjoy.

B a bit rough today and on top of that has. Conjunctivitis we think so we popping to see boots pharmacist this morning see what they think.

I actually slept really well last night , It was 12.30 when I went to bed, woke at 4 for the loo then didn't wake again till 10 past 8. I think the exhaustion caught up with me.

Have a good and safe day ladies,
Clover hope everything is ok with you.

Oma, first time of meeting the kittens and they are looking forward to it
Annoyingly they have booked a taxi to go home. We have offered twice to drive then home today, assuring them it is no trouble. Sometimes we need to learn to accept well meaning offers of help! They only live 3 miles away so it's no problem to take them, but there we are!

                    I'm glad you slept well

Been to the chemist , Pharmacist had a good look and gave him antibiotic drops for two weeks ,
He already has steroid drops and false tears but needed something to clear the infection.
Poor man he looks and feels rough.

Good morning, apologies for my absence…again!! I don’t know where the time goes, November just flew by.

I hope you are all safe in this awful weather, we seem to be quite sheltered here even though our immediate are is on top of a hill. Apparently the Purbecks and the New Forest shelter us also. being in a bay helps. I went to the library yesterday for my knit and natter and nearly got blown off my feet when I walked back to my car. But we are all safe so are very lucky compared to some.

i am all ready for Christmas, just finished wrapped the dog and cats presents! Yes, I buy for them too, Dexter loves opening his presents. Doing the family secret Santa certainly makes life easier.

I hope everyone is keeping well, all ok here although DD has had laryngitis recently and is still suffering. I’ve got a cough that I’ve had for ages, since the summer in fact. I went to docs and she said it was viral so no antibiotics, it seems to get better then come back especially when I talk. Otherwise I’m feeling really well and my injuries from my fall have all healed. Have a good day everyone and keep warm.

I was going to see my son and Dil this afternoon but my DD wasn’t happy for me to be out and on the roads so I cancelled it. I am sorry because it is his birthday. GD2 and her partner have been wrapping presents with H’s help, they are so patient with her. They move into their new home on Sat. And I don’t think it will be long before they start their family.

Oma, pleased to read you had several hours of good sleep but really sorry to hear about B’s eye problems

Gemini, very difficult catering for a fussy person, apple cake sounds yummy

Hello everyone. It's very cold and still windy here. I hope it will die down a bit before I take Eva out.

Gem, it can be really difficult when you've got guests with such varied dietary situations. I agree, people sometimes just need to gracefully accept offers like lifts. It's easy to forget that people do like to help their friends when they can. I hope you have a lovely time anyway, and the kittens have fun making new friends.

Lizzie, how awful that fire bomb must have been. It's horrible any time, but just before Christmas seems worse. I hope those in hospital recover quickly. As Oma say, Ikea queues are famous - or infamous!

Plant, what a pity to miss your DS's birthday, but better safe than sorry, and it's no fun being out on the roads in these high winds. Your GD2 and her partner must be feeling very excited about moving into their new home at last. Wouldn't it be lovely to welcome more GGCs into your family. xx

Enfys, it's great to hear from you. I wondered how you were faring with the high winds. We were at the Miramar on Friday and gusts of winds kept catching the car on the Wessex Way. I'm so glad you have made a good recovery from your fall. Perhaps we can look forward to our long-awaited get together in January. Yes, we buy for the pets as well. Last year the three dogs all ended up with a different dog's present - we humans obviously didn't choose well!

Oma, I'm glad you've managed to get a good few hours sleep at last. Poor B, though. I hope his eyes are ok. It's handy being able to get treatment from the pharmacist instead of waiting ages for a doctor's appointment.
