Just back from dog training. There were only 4 of us today, so all the dogs worked very hard. I was surprised how bouncy Eva was after 4 days of being with either Cooper or Missy. We came home through torrential rain and mist. The windscreen wipers were struggling to keep up. I'll go and get dinner in a minute and finish off a few jobs I left this morning.

Oma, the people doing your boiler sound very thorough, but as you say, a much bigger job than expected. Just think how nice and cosy you'll be this winter, though.

Lizzie, thank you for the lovely photos. It looks spectacular. Was it very busy?

Plant, I hope your games afternoon was enjoyable. I think OH would have to be Compo - the scruffy clothes he wears for tinkering under car bonnets are very scruffy indeed, although he hasn't resorted to string instead of a belt - yet!!

Gem, are you counting down the days until you get your little kitties? You must be so excited. xx

Gem thank you for letting us see those adorable kittens. Both so sweet.I especially love the calico one. I admit I’m more of a dog person but could be persuaded 😀!

I do hope those in pain get some relief soon.WG I do sympathise with you as I had that excruciating pain before my hip op.

I’m in the process of trying to find someone to do an outside repair on the house. How I hate having to do things like this.

      Nanto,have great holiday.

Daisy, it wasn't busy when this early bird was there!! Getting busier when I left, in fact, I was just telling GS2, I was the only person going up in the tower to 185 mtr, the young man said it was a "private" ride! I used to go often before the lock down, he was telling me there are a few new things added, one is a glass floor! It is smoked glass until you get to the top, then it stops and the glass is clear, IF, you don't like it you can press a button and it will be smoked again. I enjoyed it.

Oma, it was like that when we had the new boiler in 2 years ago. Worth it though.

Early start tomorrow, hubby wants to leave about 3.30.

              Well what a day,
The boiler man has just gone .
11 hours it’s taken and still tomorrow for the electrician and plasterer.
It was almost done he screwed the last pipe clip to the wall checked everything and turned the water on.

Thats when he discovered he had screwed through a hidden water pipe we didn’t know was there.
              So water spraying everywhere.

Water had to be turned back off Boiler taken out again and a hole made in the wall to repair the pipe.
Then the boiler had to be re connected and go through all the checks radiator bleeding etc all over again.

Poor man was fed up by then but he plodded in to make sure we had hot water and heating before he left.
He didn’t even stop for lunch.

we had no lunch either as they were busy and we didn’t want to keep climbing over stuff,
We we’re able to make plenty of tea and coffee as we had the kettle etc in the sitting room .

My sugar levels are all over the place not eating.
Roll on tomorrow night it should all be done by then.

Oh and I forgot the flue was a nightmare to replace that took about 2 hours 🙄

Oma, what a long day with your new boiler. Have you noticed accidents like putting a screw into a pip only happen towards the end of a job when all anyone can think about is peace, quiet and a rest. Poor man, and poor you and B. You were a bit naughty not getting yourself something to eat though - it's not a question of just feeling hungry. I hope your sugar levels are settling down now. Fingers crossed there are no more hitches tomorrow.

Nanto, I hope you are tucked up and having an early night. Safe journey tomorrow, and enjoy your holiday.

Lizzie, how lovely to have the ride up to the top to yourself. What a clever glass floor! There's a glass floor at the top of the 170 metre (560 ft) Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth but if you don't like it the only option is to get off it! I don't mind it at all, but I've watched lots of people struggling and going very pale.

Clover, it must be difficult when you need jobs like that doing. I know I wouldn't know what questions to ask or whether what the person was telling me was right or not. I hope you find a good, reliable person to do the job. Our local Whats App group keeps a list of workmen/women who various neighbours have recommended - have you got anything like that where you could get a reliable reference for a job?

                  Good evening.

Lizzie, glass floors scare me! It sounds very clever though.

Oma, you will be glad when the boiler is all done. I have to agree with Daisy, you should have got yourself something to eat regularly.

Clover, it's not easy for a woman on her own to sort out these things . My friend used tradesmen from a list provided by Age Concern.

I hope you enjoyed games afternoon Plant.

Nan2, early start tomorrow, but it's for a good reason

The kittens were vaccinated today and will be ready to leave at the weekend. We are out on Sunday so hoping we can pick them up on Monday.

Morning ladies , sorry I didn’t get back on last night I was just too tired.

Electrician is already here so I’m hopeful it’s not such a long day.

didnt feel well last night due to eating late and going all day without food.
Ive made sure I’ve had toast and cereal this morning,

                    Clover
I think most of us dread having to do stuff like that alone but once you do it it feels like a great achievement,
Be brave put your big girls pants on and go for it 😁
Hope you find someone to do the work soon.

                    Lizzie
No way would you get me on a glass floor unless it was still on the floor and hadn’t moved 😁
                    Views are wonderful though.

                    Nanto
Enjoy your break you will be on your way now no doubt.

Did you have a nice afternoon, did you win any games?

                    Daisy
I hated driving in heavy rain, Eva sounds like she’s had a nice time at training 😁

Bet your getting excited for the new additions now , I envy you 😁.

                      Good Thursday morning, everyone.

Oma, I hope everything goes smoothly today so you can relax. Glad you've had some breakfast! Take care of yourself. xx

                      Nanto, have a lovely time.

Gem, I bet Monday can't come soon enough. Have you got everything ready to welcome your gorgeous new kitties?

We've got friends coming today so I need to get my skates on as I don't know what time they're arriving.

Have a good day, everyone. xxx

Good morning, dull and drizzly here, I am pleased I went to Rotterdam yesterday!

Oma, I do hope the work is finished today with no more set backs.

Daisy, enjoy your time with friends, are they the ones from France?

I have just ordered myself some trainers for the gym, with black soles! At the moment they all have those massive white soles, not for me, I just wanted the plain, low, black ones.

I have no plans today, only the physio at 4-30, I have come to the conclusion that I get enough exercise without all the extra there.

Good morning. Lovely morning here so far and I’m just waiting for my friend to collect me then we are going to the local garden centre for coffee and a little mooch. I haven’t see her for ages so will be good to catch up.

Clover, I really don’t like having to find someone to do jobs, P was always so handy and could turn his hand to anything. Our local com u ity has a Facebook page and that is good for asking for recommendations. That’s where I found the young man who did a few jobs for me recently. Otherwise I just ask friends for recommendations.

Lovely little kittens, Gem, how exciting. I’d quite like another cat but this road gets so busy at times I would worry about it going out, We lost our beautiful Honey a few years ago when she was hit by a car. DD who lives just over the road has two boys and they have survived 15 years but I’d still worry. So I “ borrow” next doors two as they’re always in my garden. Fonzie is a gorgeous grey persian and Willow is an all white shy little girl, they are lovely.

Enjoy your visit with your friends, Daisy.

Have a good day everyone, 🌞

                            Good morning everyone.

Third time lucky, I have begun this post twice and things at this end have interrupted me!

Lizzie, I would say you definitely get plenty of exercise

Daisy, we need to buy a new cosy cat bed ( for them to ignore ) We bought kitten food and litter yesterday, and already have a couple of litter trays and a carrying basket.
I'm excited I think OH may be getting cold feet

I hope you feel better and the day goes on Oma.

Enfys we have 2 cats in each of our neighbouring houses and borrow one of the 2 who live to our right!
I hope you have a nice outing with your friend.

GS3 is here, which was one of the interruptions to my posting .
GS1 is coming later. I will have to go for him due to DD1's car being out of action. Nothing is going right for her at the moment.

Heating all up and running , plastering done not that there was much to be fair ,
Will need to decorate the utility room at the weekend as lots of dirty marks, tried washing some off but not all will come off ,especially on the ceiling around the flue.
Its only a tiny room so won’t take long.

Been to Aldi , didn’t need much but it was a trip out.
