Good New Year's Eve morning, everyone.

Nanto, nice to get out for a bit. I'd have to do the same if we didn't have a dog to take me out for walkies!

Gem, enjoy your Aqua. Sometimes we just need to get back to a bit of routine, especially for you, ahead of your busy day and evening. It sounds as though you and S are well-organised, and it will be fun.

Oma, after your busy day yesterday I hope you're taking things a bit easier.

I thought the rocking horse was being collected today, but OH tells me it's Thursday! I really don't know one day from the next at the moment. .

We're going to friends' this evening for our traditional NYE bash. We hosted last year's, and I have to say I'm glad I'm not doing it this year. There will only be 6 of us with one more person just coming for a short while as she doesn't want to eat that late. Perhaps, as we're all of a certain age, we're getting too old to party into the small hours!

There must be a lot of disappointed people with various events being cancelled because of the weather.

Hallo everyone, a bitter cold end to 2024! Very windy as well, all the (bon)fires etc had to be lit last night because of the upcoming storm, no early morning swimming in the sea for the same reason.

I came home from shopping and found a bank card in the street, I transferred 0.1 cent to the account with my phone number so they knew where to come for it, then I decided to do some detective work and found it belonged to a lady on the first floor, I have just taken it to her, she didn't even know she had lost it!!! She was pleased I had found it though.

I have a reception to go to this afternoon, one of my doctors, she has been at the practice 25 years now, when my DH was ill and he knew he was terminally ill he arranged for euthanasia, this doctor was there with us all the time. She was very good then and always has bee.

I hope that you all enjoy the meal Gem, I have been invited to friends but will stay home.

I met my old neighbour at the gym, he was telling me they are expecting a baby, they were going for the first scan today. They have been to Poland for Christmas to visit her family.

I enjoyed my jaunt around town. Got what i wanted.

Very quiet day for me so I got some much needed jobs done. Not cleaning but sorting out files containing receipts etc. I now have a pile of out of date receipts to get rid of. No New Year festivities for me, I doubt if I will still be awake at mid-night.

Nanto, I haven’t seen the news today, Scotland will be disappointed not to be celebrating the New Year.

I was quite tired after my class but felt better for getting moving again. None of my aqua friends were there, and I wasn't planning to stay for coffee anyway.
We are ready for tonight apart from last minute stuff and getting changed.
It's quite wild and windy here, luckily none of our guests have far to come. Most of them can walk round.

Plant, I think it sometimes harder to get down to that sort of clearing out job than doing cupboards or drawers. Well done.

Heavy rain this morning.

Yesterday's visitors only stayed for an hour, but we had a good natter.

Decorations coming down this morning.
The lights outside might have to wait until the weather is better.

Plant,well done for sorting out receipts.
Last time I sorted ours we had receipts for things that were long gone.

I was going to do gammon for dinner, but I haven't got any pineapple slices until the shopping is delivered tomorrow, so I'm doing chicken in breadcrumbs.

A very happy new year to everyone, I stayed home and from where I live I had the most fantastic firework display! It was a clear evening and everyone seem to start early so it was a very long show! Some have money to burn as my old father would have said!

DD sent us a video they are high up in the mountains and the village below had a fire works display,
As they were so high up they got a wonderful view of them.

It rained heavily here most of the evening and night Nan2, it's just windy now.

We had a good night, and in bed not long after 2.
Just the clearing up to do now! We have a free day so plenty of time to do it.

Good New Year's Day morning, everyone, and welcome to 2025. We're a quarter of the way through the 21st Century!

Oma, how is your MIL these days? Is she getting about ok now?

Nanto, we had gammon at our friends' house last night. It was very nice indeed. Something to look forward to for you tomorrow.

We had a lovely evening and our friends had gone to a lot of trouble with a fantastic meal. They live just round the corner from us, so OH had popped back home about 10 o'clock to let Eva out and make sure she was ok, and we got home about 1.30. I was wide awake so read for about an hour.

Daisy, no not too much! Mostly unloading and reloading the dishwasher ( we did one wash last night) and a bit of tidying and putting things in the recycling.

A very quiet NYE for me, GD1 and her OH popped in for a drink after they had put H to bed. My DD and OH were out so they kept they me company but I was in bed by 11. My days of staying up to see the New Year in are gone. I need to get the correspondence etc through the shreader before I dispose of it. Apart from going to the dustbin I haven’t been out for nearly a week. I thought I would go out today but it is raining.
