I do hope all the poorly people will be better soon and able to enjoy Christmas. I can’t believe that I have started another cold, a head cold this time, hope to see it off before Christmas, I was poorly last year on Christmas Day. I am looking forward to seeing my No.2 and 3 grandsons I haven’t seen them for some time. I must wrap the last of the presents today and get them under the tree next door. My GD’s OH and I like Christmas pudding so I bought a small one yesterday, gone are the days when I always made them. Not even making mincemeat and mince pies, I am sure the Waitrose ones will be good. I have even bought blinis for Christmas morning.

Gemini, I am pleased you were able to get another prescription to treat your infection, you need to get that cleared up before Christmas. Have a lovely meal out with your friends, I love Chinese food, it suits my tummy better now than Indian.

Daisy, that part of the forest sounds magical but I would be nervous to be there alone. Apple pie sounds good, what pastry is better for freezing?

Nanto, dumplings, yum yum, I can’t remember the last time I had dumplings. I can’t remember if you said if you are cooking the Christmas dinner.

Oma, very pleased to hear your dear OH is slightly better, you both need to feel better to enjoy your family day.

Plant, same here, I would always choose Chinese over Indian.

I hope you get your baking done Daisy. I have been very lazy this year and bought mince pies. I did make a Christmas cake though!

Oma I hope you get your appetites back soon. No appetite is miserable, especially at Christmas.

I have coloured my hair and put up the stick on silver snowflakes which we aways have on the front and patio windows.

Oma, it must be hard knowing you have to eat when you really don't feel like it. Don't laugh, but when we had Clyde and he was having insulin injections twice a day, I used to inject him then set a timer for his breakfast/dinner in 30 minutes.

Gem, I bet the snowflakes look very festive. I like Indian and Chinese - but not together. I didn't make a Christmas cake, but I am making mince pies - loads of them. I had enough apples to make two applies tarts today - a large one for the freezer and a smaller one for now, so Oma can come for her pudding tonight.

Oh, Plant. You really don't deserve another cold. I hope it clears up quickly so you can enjoy seeing your GD2 and 3. Your house will be very busy at Christmas with all the family. The Forest is magical in so many ways, and I keep reminding myself how lucky we are to actually live here. I'm quite happy walking on my own, and the more remote and wooded the safer it feels. People mostly stick to the well-trodden paths.

I ended up doing a load of washing today and OH put lights up all round the dining room. It looks quite pretty - or it will do when I've finished the ironing and tidied everything away!

It poured with rain this afternoon, so poor Eva had to make do with a quick walk round the block. I'm just off to get our dinner as Sainsbury's are due tonight.

Been a miserable day here, but I fancied a little drive so thought I'd go down our parade of shops. If there was a parking space, I'd stop and go to the butcher's and get some money out. If not I'd just drive home again. There was a space so I treated myself at the butcher's and got my money and back home again. Haven't done much since, it certainly wasn't a day to go out walking! I've put the laundry away and gone through a pile of old papers and magazines. A night in front of the fire beckons now.

Had my hair cut and coloured yesterday and I don't now look as if I've been pulled through a hedge backwards! Got some highlights put in which has lifted the colour. Thought about going into the shopping centre, but decided against it.

Daisy, we have some lovely woods around here and I feel quite happy walking in them. There's a peacefulness which I like! My DS always warns me about the fairies who live there and that I mustn't disturb them ! Strangely enough I always avoided the wood in my previous village, never felt comfortable there. It as OK with doggo, but not on my own.

Have a good evening ladies. Hope all poorly people are soon feeling better. Take care x

Nanto, there's a feeling of satisfaction when you get jobs done, isn't there.

WeeGranny, I know what you mean about the peacefulness in the woods. It can get quite busy here with visitors, and they seem to come all the year round these days. I think most of them are seeking the tranquility and beauty of the Forest, but they tend to end up in certain areas. Ours is one of the most frequently visited areas, so it's good to make the most of the peace and quiet when you can. You are doing well with getting out and about, and a new hairdo whether it's a cut or colour lifts the spirits, doesn't it.

                Good morning.

WG, you sound like you are making a good recovery, which is good to hear.
Hair all done as well, what more do you need.

Going to the farm shop then to the garden centre.
Don't need anything from the farm shop, but we like to have a coffee there .
I like to get a few bits from the garden centre. They kept the cafe going through lock down. You couldn't eat inside but we still went regularly.
I like to think we are paying them back by shopping there.
We will eat while we are there.

Don't know what the weather forecast is, but I hope it's a bit brighter than yesterday.

Isn't it nice to feel normal again , I think as Daisy said having your hair done makes all the difference to how you feel.

                    Good morning everyone.

                    WG, you are doing well

Nan2, yes its good to support businesses which were there for us.

Oma, I do feel the cystitis is lot better thanks. Fingers crossed.

Plant, I hope your cold is no worse.

We had nice evening with our friends. Good meal at the Chinese restaurant. then drink at the pub.
Today we are going out for lunch. OH has booked Sunday lunch out as a surprise. She knows I love a roast and I was bemoaning the fact that I had no Christmas meals to go to this year. Last night's Chinese meal being the only one.

Good Saturday before Christmas Day morning.

Nanto, that cat is so cute and looks a lot like my DIL's cat. It's good to support local businesses like that and I bet they appreciate their regulars like you.

Oma, thank goodness B is feeling better, but he needs to take his time to recuperate. I imagine all the food shops are busy this week-end.

Gem, pleased to hear you're feeling better as well. It's a mad social whirl for you, with your Chinese last night and Sunday lunch out tomorrow - what a good idea of S's. Enjoy.

OH went down the village early this morning for a few odds and ends - I can imagine it will be packed later. I'm getting odd jobs done today - exciting things like one of Eva's beds needs washing, plus some muddy towels, the kitchen floor needs cleaning - I'll hoover all the dog hairs up and OH will steam clean it. Then there's the ironing! I'd better get a move on.

Another grey miserable day here. DD has invited me over for a takeaway and watching Love Actually tonight. So that’s my evening taken care off!

                        Have a good day xx

Just had a phone call from GS3, he is home for Christmas and is coming to see me today. I tried to warn him off because of my cold but he insisted in coming, no hugs though. I am trying to get the last presents wrapped. My last two are fluffy dressing gowns for GD2 and her partner, quite a challenge.

WG, you are doing very well but I am sure you will be sensible and not rush it.

Nanto, Good to support local businesses, my nearest garden centre has stopped doing lunches, not enough take up, I do miss them.

Daisy, your OH is so good, my OH only knew where the wine department was in our local shops.

Oma, pleased to hear B is slowly seeing the end of his nasty chest infection and hope you will both be fighting fit for Christmas.

Gemini, nice meals out for you and S. Pub meals in our village have got very expensive.

Very breezy, glad the only time we were outside was walking to and from the car park.

Nanto, it's very breezy here as well. I've just got back from walking Eva and out in the open the wind was quite strong.

Plant, you must be very pleased to have GS3 home, but at this time of year he could catch a cold from anybody, although I hope he doesn't. I think my OH quite enjoys a potter round the village. He usually sees someone he knows and stops for a chat!

WeeGranny, you've made great progress but the crutch is a bit of insurance against tripping over. I do think you've made great progress. xx

We got most of our planned jobs done today. I didn't finish the ironing but my shoulder was aching which was a good enough reason to leave some of it until tomorrow.

Quite breezy here as well Nan2.
