Good morning. Still quite windy here. I think it's raining as well.

I'm going to do some washing and I've got a bit of ironing to do as well.

Making an easy dinner, I've got some slices of beef, doing some cheesy mash, veg and gravy. Also got some yorkshire puddings in the freezer, so I think I'll warm a couple up.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good Sunday before Christmas morning, everyone.

Nanto, thank you for the pretty butterfly. No chance of drying your washing outside today. I'll think about you while I'm finishing off my ironing as well! Do you make your own Yorkshire puddings?

Gem, I've just read your post from yesterday teatime, and laughed out loud! Not because you had got confused about days but because I had got it firmly fixed in my head that my Christmas Sainsbury's order was due on the 22nd (correct!) but I was also convinced that the 22nd was TOMORROW! So I was a bit surprised to look out of the window and see their van outside our house a few minutes ago. Do'h.

Plant, I hope your cold is getting better. It's going to be a busy time for you and I can just imagine how excited your GGCs will be.

WeeGranny, did you have a nice evening with your DD yesterday?

Oma, how is your poorly B? Is your SIL taking some time off work over Christmas - I imagine he must need a bit of a rest by now. It's good his business is doing well, but when work's there you can't turn it down, can you.

I might do some baking today. I have to almond paste and ice the Christmas cake but it would be nice to have some homemade cakes in the cake tin as well!

I ordered clementines from Crowdfarming and they arrived yesterday - a big box of beautiful, fresh juicy fruit.

        Good morning everyone.

Daisy, it's so hard to work out what day it is at the moment I can imagine your surprise when the Sainsburys van turned up!

Nothing specific planned today. I am going to put the marzipan on the Christmas cake.
OH wants to drop her godsons Christmas present off. He will be 18 in June so this will be his last Christmas present.
We need cat litter so will go to Pets at Home.

          Morning ladies

          Daisy
I forgot to say I have a timer on my phone that goes off for my insulin too😁
Sounds a busy day for you , the days are getting muddled aren't they,
Just as well you were up for Sainsbury's or you would have been opening the door bleary-eyed
SIL is finished till the new year now , well I say finished he has a couple of measuring up jobs booked in between Christmas and New year, but they won't take long ,

B is feeling better today , well enough to meet our friends for coffee this morning, it's weeks since we have seen them.
I have towels and my dressing gown in the wash so it's a wash day for us all 😁

          Nanto
          A nice easy meal ,
I tell MIL just to buy some sliced cooked beef a tin of veg and ready made mash, a couple aunt Bessie's puds and she has a decent meal with gravy,
She would rather wait till we take a dinner but then moans if she hasn't had one all week.

It's not a bad morning was very windy last night.

I woke about 2 am and came down for a hot drink , mainly because I was starving,
I didn't eat any tea I just couldn't face it but by 2 am my stomach was rumbling.

Took me ages to get back to sleep,
So this morning I have had porridge and toast , I think my appetite must be coming back.

          Gem
          Our posts crossed ,
Have a nice day I bet the kittens get something special from pets at home you can't resist can you 😁🥰

Oma, very pleased you both feel well enough to meet up with your friends.

Gemini, I am sure some cat toys will be popped in your basket, at least they don’t destroy them like dogs.

Nanto, I don’t know what I am having for dinner, apart from eggs I think it will have to come from the freezer.

Daisy I wish I felt inspired to make cakes, I suppose it is partly to do with no one to eat them. Not great cake eaters next door.

We went to meet our friends for coffee but James had to come alone , Dorothy has come down with this virus now , it's not looking promising for Christmas day , they may have to miss out and SIL take a plated meal to them , James is just starting to feel better after antibiotics then poor Dorothy gets it.

we gave DD & Sil plus Storm a lift home , they walked down and were going to walk back but we insisted they get in the car,

As we were going down the road a Husky was trotting down the middle of the road , obviously escaped,
                They are masters at it,
DD & myself got out of the car to try to catch it but it wasn't playing ball, it took off.
We should have gotten Storm out of the car it may have been curious and came over.

DD put it on FB so whoever owns it would know what direction it was heading in.

Hallo everyone,I am trying to get over my Christmas depression!!! I decided to do the kitchen tops this morning after the gym, then did the suite etc so it all clean! I had just finished when I saw that the Nespresso needed de-scaling, with the help of YouTube I managed to do that as well.

DS1 just phoned, an eight hour delay in returning home yesterday, there was a storm in Leeds so the flight was cancelled, he could have flown to Belfast but they couldn't guarantee him a flight back to Schiphol last night to he chose Manchester, got a taxi across the pennines, he has already crossed them a few times last week for his work, he got the flight and was home before midnight, DIL went to pick him up at the airport, he would be shattered from all the waiting.

We have had showers all day, yesterday as well, I had hailstones on my way to the gym this morning. I have signed in for a "better moving" class tomorrow morning, I don't have to do the coffee, I saw the young trainer was doing it, I have said I would try and do one of his lessons, I must remind him I can't do the floor exercises though, I can do them, it is the getting up off the floor that is the problem!

Oma, I hope that you are all better for Christmas, you as well Gem with the cystitis.

GD1 was telling me her boyfriend is on holiday in Spain with his uncle and auntie, this was all planned before the two of them got together.

GD2 was working yesterday in the restaurant from the friends, it was Christmas midnight shopping or whatever and very busy. It always is in that village, most people from here go there as well for their shopping.

Poor Dorothy, Oma. She has a rough time of it doesn't she?
I hope the husky was safely captured.

Lizzie, I could have gone to an aqua class tomorrow but I didn't bother to book in as the relief instructor taking it isn't very good
I know what you mean about floor exercises!

We didn't go to deliver the present to OH's godson as they are hosting some big family thing today. They are going to pop over here on Christmas Eve. We will be in all morning.

We got cat litter and a couple of new toys from Pets at Home.
                    It was very cold out!

                        Lizzie
Your poor DS that was quite a journey, is this the last till the new year for him ?
It's been bitter cold here also.

                        Gem
I knew you would get some toys 😀

I got the bedrooms cleaned and hoovered and the bathroom got a good clean,
Then I did two loads of washing ,

in the morning I am going to the farm shop for 6.30 to pick the Christmas meat order up. I went later last year and stood in the queue for 2 hours 40 minutes, so I'm going early for them opening hoping I won't stand as long, I don't think my hip will take it at the minute .

Then some point around lunch time Martin, Clare and Finn are coming so I must bring his gift downstairs,

Oma, good to hear B is feeling better.
Sorry to hear D is poorly.

I polished and hoovered the living room this morning, then hubby decided he wanted some more decorations.
In my opinion we had enough, but not for hubby.
So after he had done, i started to clean again.

Washed a load of towels this morning, and did some ironing.

Reading Gem's earlier post - I meant to marzipan the cake today, but just realise I forgot!

Gem, I'm sure the kittens will be delighted with their toys. It will be nice having OH's Godson and family come to you and saves you a journey.

Plant, the family like mainly plain cakes and things like flapjack - all easy to make.

Nanto, cleaning can be never-ending, can't it!

Lizzie, you are doing well to fight the Christmas depression. It's hard when most people are excited, having fun and enjoying everything. It's a good idea to go to the exercise class, but I sympathise about getting up off the floor. Thank goodness your DS1 is home safely even though he had an awful journey. Unfortunately you can't do much about the weather, and it's always better to be down on the ground wishing you were "up there" than being "up there" wishing you were down on the ground.

Oma, you've had a busy day, but it will be good to see Martin and family tomorrow. I bet Finn is very excited. I hope the dog was found ok. Poor D. Is she on antibiotics? It will be so disappointing for all of you if she is poorly at Christmas.

I got a few jobs done today, but we had some more very sad news this morning. Our BIL, D, passed away in the night. He's the husband of OH's eldest sister who passed away in March. We knew he was very frail - we went to see him a few days ago and he was visibly weaker than the previous week, but it's still a shock. He was a lovely man who had lots of interests and was a very funny storyteller. He will be missed by the whole family.

Oh bless him Daisy. I remember you telling us how frail he was, and seemed to enjoy your visit. My condolences.

Oma don't overdo the flipping housework just because you are feeling better!!

I have just watched The Snowman an important part of my Christmas. Off to bed now. Good night everyone

Oh Daisy, sorry to hear your sad news. I remember you going to see him.

It sounds a lot calmer outside than it has been for the past couple of days.

Changing the bedding and cleaning the bedrooms and bathroom are on my to do list today.

Lizzie, glad your DS got home eventually.
