We have had a lovely evening with our neighbour. There was also her elderly dad there and two other pairs of neighbours. The neighbour's dad is have knee replacement surgery on Thursday, so I told him what Gem had said - about the importance of doing the exercises afterwards. He needs both knees replacing and is hoping to have the other one done in April probably. He's quite a large gentleman so I hope he's ok.

Gem, it must have been a treat for all 4 of you to be at Aqua today. Oh dear, I really must get on with writing cards. I have done the foreign ones, but that is all. When are you going to put your decorations up?

Plant, pleased to hear the dentists wasn't too painful in any way. Shopping is tiring, especially when it is busy and you have to queue for ages to go through the checkout or do battle with the self-service tills. I wonder what your meal from the freezer was. . I hope it was tasty.

    Night, night everyone. Sweet dreams.

      Chilly again, but no frost.

No plans for me, hoping my new phone comes early then I can get it set up.
Hubby out later for a couple of hours with his pal.

Daisy, so pleased you had a lovely evening with the neighbours.

Gem, nice for all of you to be at aqua.

Dinner is crispy sliced potatoes, fish fingers and beans for hubby, I'll have the same minus the fish fingers, I've gone off them.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good morning Nan2 (and Minnie!) Good morning ladies.

That sounds a good evening Daisy and I'm sure that lady was happy to have you all there.
Moving after knee surgery, much as we don't want to is the way to go. After the physio exercises they give you I found aqua aerobics was vital to getting my range of knee mobility. I know water exercise isnt for everyone though, and certainly in the classes I go to men are very much in the minority. Two or three in a class of 33.

Library this morning GS1 this afternoon. I am taking GS to buy his mum's Christmas present this afternoon. At 12 he's to young to do it himself and his dad wouldn't bother, so either DD2 or I take him for his mums birthday and Christmas gifts. DD has a meeting until 7 so I will take him back after tea and wait with him until she's finished. Luckily for me its OH's turn to cook tonight

Todays golf is cancelled as the course is closed again.
It is their Christmas jumper and Christmas cake day. Usually after the golf , but they will have it anyway, and a quiz I think.

        Don't forget the Advent calendar!

Will you get GS to help put the decorations up?
Is there any signs of him returning to school maybe after the holidays?

          Nanto
          Weather the same here,
Hope you get your new phone this morning gives you all day to set it up , what kind did you go for?

I am going to walk over to the shopping mall this morning, don't feel like it but I need a few things so no option really.

My throat is still painful and I'm so tired but loads better than I was , now just get B back to health.

Oma, I hope both of you are both on the road to recovery.

Not sure about GS1 and the decorations. I know he enjoys doing their tree with his mum.
I will update on YEO at some point about school.

Good morning. Dull and dreary here. I’m not going to our knitting group this morning, I have a busy week and could really do with a morning in, also the centre we go to is not very warm and couldn’t face sitting there not feeling comfortable, I usually take a hot water bottle in the winter…they laughed at me at first but now lots of us take them!

my gardeners here this afternoon, her last time until the spring so will be good to get everything outside tidied up. Have a good day everyone,

                  Good Tuesday morning, everyone.

Nanto, I hope your phone does arrive early so you can get on with setting it up. I can never decide whether it's exciting getting a new toy like that, or misery at the process of setting it up! What a nuisance going off fish fingers.

Enfys, it really is a chilly morning and a good time to stay home and catch up with other things. Your gardener sounds a lovely lady.

Oma, take it easy now today. You sound as though you've worn yourself out with shopping. How is B today? Sending you both hugs.

Gem, a busy day for you, so it's lucky it's S's day for cooking. I bet she's a bit fed up that the golf course is closed again.

I've been to the dentists - just the hygienist - so was out in half an hour. Chaos there though as they are having the roof replaced and work vans were parked everywhere and they set the alarm off and couldn't stop it for ages.

We're off out in a few minutes to go and visit D, brother-in-law (the husband of J's sister who passed away in March). He's now in a nursing home and very frail.

                  I'll pop back later.

Just had the hairdresser, she has tidied me up. I have a Christmas get-together with my Guiding friends this afternoon.

Oma, I hope you are not overdoing things now you are feeling a bit better and I hope B is on the mend soon.

Gemini, Is your GS1 good at choosing presents for his mum?

Daisy, I was at the dentist yesterday and got away lightly too.

Enfys, the village halls are usually chilly, good idea taking a hot water bottle.

Good morning, it is a bitter cold wind this morning, it was yesterday really, we went to the pool in the car, I take another lady with us, she lives at the other side of the village, she was using public transport, I told her that if we go in the car I don't mind going to pick her up. I hope we can go on our bikes next week though.

I hope your phone arrived Nanto.

You would enjoy meeting with the neighbours Daisy.

I am going to have a look at the sewing machine that the girls used to use when they were here, I will oil it and see what they want to do with it, I can guess, "keep it nan"!

Gem, there are quite a few men in our aqua group, the eldest being 87!! Our instructor was very tired yesterday, I could see it in his eyes, after the lesson I helped him tidy and asked him, he said they are hardly getting any sleep! They have a 2 year old daughter and twins, they are 6 months now, he said if one wakes crying they all cry!! I told him if I lived closer I would look after them for a couple of hours, he said " don't say that again or I will take you up on it"!!!! I would do it though, I brought my 2 sons up on my own, no family or anyone else to help so I have an idea what they are going through.

I will get the machine oiled now.

Oma, take it easy with the shopping.

B really unwell, he's asleep on the sofa at the moment.
I have worn myself out with going to the shops , although I'm feeling a lot better it's the exhaustion, it's awful when you want to do things.

Hope you have a good get together are you having lunch?

What a good idea taking your hot water bottle it will keep you a little bit warmer😁

Oma I strongly advise online shopping until you are well. Things like Tesco Whoosh are pretty instant when you only need a few things.

Enfys, hot water bottles are brilliant for keeping warm in all sorts of scenarios.

Lizzie I would stick with the car when it's this cold!

Daisy I'm sure your BIL will appreciate your visit.

I hope you have a nice Christmas get together this afternoon Plant. GS had no ideas for his mum when I asked the other day, so I will guide him.

Today hasn't gone as planned. DD messaged this morning to ask if she could drop off GS1 just after 12 as she had a Drs appointment to get to. I said I would leave the library early, which isn't a problem. The latest I work is 1, but I usually leave between 12 and 12.30.
At 12.15 I had a message from DD saying he wouldn't get into the car, so I dashed over to look after him there so she could make the appointment. He didn't want to come here and didn't want to go shopping. I told him the shopping wasn't a problem as I could get something and he could wrap it next week at our house. In the end I came home once DD came in. She had meetings all afternoon, and GS was doing his own thing. There was no point me being there. DD told him he couldn't disturb the meetings and his tea would be late if he wasn't having it here. He said he would make it himself.
I will write more about all this on YEO later.

We all seem to be suffering from a cold day today, don't we!

Plant, I'm sure you feel better for having a trim. I hope you wrapped up warm for the get together with your Guiding friends. E nfys has the best idea, taking a hot water bottle.

Nanto, how is your new phone? What did you get?

Lizzie, I do feel for your aqua instructor with three babies/toddlers. They must be worn out with lack of sleep. I had a friend when our children were little who wanted two children close together. Their little boy was just 13 months when she gave birth to twins! We used to go shopping together because we could manage the 5 of them between us but virtually impossible for her to go on her own once the twins were mobile! What she wouldn't have given for online deliveries back then.

Oma, you and B are really having a rough time at the moment. I agree with Gem - shopping online is essential until you are both better. I'm also sure you could leave your duster in the cupboard for at least 6 months before any dust started to show in your house. Rest as much as you possibly can. Sending hugs. xxx

Gem, oh dear, I wonder what stopped GS from getting in the car. Do you think it might just have been the weather being so cold and he'd rather stay at home, or was there some other problem. I'm sure you must all be worrying about both him and your DD.

It took us longer than expected to get to D's care home because of road closures once we got off the motorway, but he was pleased to see us. The care home is lovely - very comfortable, with kind and helpful staff. D's room is quite spacious and he was listening to Classic FM when we arrived. Sadly he look more frail than when we saw him a couple of weeks ago, and he was confused at times, but we had a chat about the advantages to farmers of having water piped to their fields (his father was a sheep farmer) and all sorts of other things. He has very little appetite but was pleased we'd taken grapes. I hope other visitors will eat the mincepies! We looked at photos of their Golden Wedding anniversary lunch which was 3 years ago, and I showed him photos of the new baby in the family. His youngest DD and her MIL arrived just after lunch, so it was nice to see them as well. We stopped for a meal on the way home, so no cooking tonight!

Phone is all sorted. I didn't get it done until the afternoon.
I was busy when the phone was delivered, then some former neighbours came to bring a card.
They stayed for a cuppa and were here over an hour. then it was time to make something to eat.

Daisy, so pleased D was happy to see you.

Oma, hope B feels better soon.

Nanto, that is so often the way. You think you've got time to do a particular job, and then that time just gets used up with something else. Still, I'm sure it was good to see your former neighbours and have a chat.

Nanto, I had been a bit worried that D might not have known us, but he did.
