IMG_2974.jpg Good Sunday evening ladies! Well the sun came out this afternoon, not for long but it did show its face!
It’s been a quiet day here, no physio sessions! At my second one yesterday he said to let him know when I needed a break because I was looking tired. DD said the same when she popped in during the evening. Had lunch in the dining room, we can choose where to eat, and I had a lovely roast dinner with 3 nice ladies. One was a bit formidable, but it was indeed listening to her views on Trump and Farage.
Sitting with my ice pack and more pills, already had my injection! Then I think it’ll be strictly results then the new Wolf Hall.
By then it’ll be bedtime and another round of pills! Have a good evening ladies x

      Good evening WG!
Pills and ice are your friends in those early days.

Plant I agree, that part is very moving.

If I had to do much ironing Oma I think I would sit. Luckily for me OH does the bulk of ours.

We didn't really do much today. We did a bit of sorting out, I had a bath, OH steamed the kitchen and hallway floors. We played a couple of games of Skip Bo and watched some TV.
There was a lot I could have been doing but I couldn't be bothered!

Good morning, i can see the sun rising.
We had a glimmer of sun yesterday and actually saw a little bit of blue sky.

Keep taking the pills WG, you'll get there.

I'm making the filling in the slow cooker today, for some steak and onion pies.

Today's menu is breaded chicken, mash, veg and gravy.

Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

          Good morning all.

Nan2, I can see some sun too!
OH is playing golf with a friend today, and had noticed that the forecast was bright.

          Aqua for me this morning.
I may make our Christmas cake this afternoon.

          Have a good Monday everyone.

Good Monday morning everyone. We have a glimpse of the sun as well, although it rained yesterday and last night.

WeeGranny, it sounds as though you are doing very well with the physio, but it's hard work, so no wonder you are a bit tired. It must be a relief to be 'looked after' and have meals cooked for you. If the company is entertaining, it's a bonus. I hope you're sleeping well.

Nanto, good morning to you and teddy! Steak and onion pies sounds very tasty.

Gem, I'm sure OH is delighted to have some decent weather for the golf. I must put my mind to making a Christmas cake. I'll need to do some shopping first, though. It's quite satisfying to do a few odds and ends without any pressure, and basically have a relaxed day.

Plant, it must be frustrating when you can't do the things you want/need to do, but could you get an ironing fairy (like Tizzy used to) to do it for you? You're right the days seem so short, especially if you don't have an early start. I keep telling myself to get up and get going in a morning but it's usually 10 o'clock by the time I'm ready to face the world.

I'm hoping to get on with some gardening later this morning. It's a bit too wet at the moment. It's DIL1's father's funeral tomorrow, so I need to decide what to wear. I've defrosted some haddock steaks for dinner tonight, and haven't decided what to do with them yet - any suggestions are welcome!

              Morning ladies,
The sun is out but it’s a bit nippy, as you would expect this time of year.

              WG
How long are you staying there is DS home next week?
It’s nice to be looked after for a while after a operation make the most of it xxx

Funny Daisy talking about Tizzy’s ironing fairy ,
I thought the same the other day that me and you could do with one at the moment 😁

I did some housework this morning ,
Didnt feel too bad so ventured to Farm foods.
Managed to get round but was in agony by the time we got home ,
Ive had some pain killers and a hot pack and it’s easing again now
I just need to get moving more at a slow pace ,
sick of it now but I’m plodding on,
At least I’m not like my poor friend Dorothy , she has much more to put up with bless her .

Oma, now put your sensible hat on and take care.

Daisy, we are having a lovely sunny morning so far, I hope you are too. I expect you will manage some time in the garden. Lovely Haddock only needs butter and seasoning.

I am very frustrated, there are so many jobs needing doing to put the garden to bed and I dare not tempt them.

Gemini, Enjoy your Aqua. My GD1’s OH likes making Christmas cake so we will leave it to him.

WG, All the work you are having to do must be very tiring. I hope it will not be too long before you are home watching the children going to school.

GD and I were going to the local town this morning, she had a dental appt. And I wanted to visit a shoe shop. Unfortuately she had the wrong Monday so I am all dressed up and nowhere to go, so another quiet day. I wasn’t looking forward to walking around but I do need a pair of winter shoes. My feet and ankles swell a bit so need a more comfortable pair.

Oma, take care, as you say your poor friend D is suffering more than you. Just don’t overdo things when you don’t have too much pain.

                    Good afternoon ladies.

Have you decided what to do with the fish Daisy? In the days when I could still eat chili I used to make cod in a tomato sauce. It was basically plonk the fish and some tinned tomatoes into an oven proof dish, season and add a little deseeded chopped green chili, sprinkle some grated cheese over then cook. I liked it for its simplicity!

Oma you will get better, but I really sympathise, it does get you down xx

Oh dear Plant, that's a bit disappointing!

All 3 of my aqua friends were there this morning and we were all 4 free to stay for coffee, which is quite rare.
I went to Sainsburys for a few things on my way home.
They kittens are always pleased to see us if we have been out so they have been keeping me company. I have all my Christmas cake ingredients now but I think I may make it tomorrow. I will no doubt be in with GS1 all afternoon so it's a good opportunity.

Hope all those with dodgy knees, backs and hips get some relief soon.

Gem, nice that you were all able to have coffee.

Plant, it made me giggle when you said all dressed up and nowhere to go.

I cooked the ppie filling this morning. Pies will be made tomorrow.
Just after i had transfered the filling to a dish, the ceramic pot inside the slow cooker cracked.
Why this happened i don't know. I didn't hit it with anything.
Anyway,i've ordered a new one, which will be here on Wednesday.

                        Good Tuesday morning, everyone.

Just a quick hello from me - it's DIL1's father's funeral this morning, so we're making an early start. Hopefully, I'll be back this evening. xx

That ceramic pot must have just had it's day ,Nan2.

Library this morning, then GS1. I am planning to make our Christmas cake this afternoon.
It's Invitation Day at the golf course, which includes a meal later. There is conveniently a single portion of leftover chicken and mushroom pasta in the freezer! So that and a few green beans is my dinner sorted out.

Gem, that slow cooker has made a few meals over the years. New one should be here tomorrow.

Must dash, I'll be back later.

Good morning, Nanto, I still have the slow cooker I bought in York many years ago, I think 1980, it has been used a lot as well. I also have one that DIL didn't use much so I have that as well.

I have had flu a few days, feeling better again, I did go to the pool yesterday , out instructor has the flu so it was another man we have never seen before, I hope it was just the once, no one enjoyed it, never mind, hopefully the young man will be better for next week.

DS1 phoned yesterday on his way to France for his work, New York on Saturday then when he returns it will be Istanbul, he certainly gets to see some lovely countries!

I want to get some repairs done then see what I do later on

                                Everyone seems busy today.

                                Lizzie pleased your feeling better,
Your DS does get around doesn’t he 😁
Hope your regular instructor is better by next week, shame you didn’t enjoy your time with this one.

At least you only have to do some green beans and you don’t have to stand cooking for yourself,
Always handy to keep left overs isn’t it 😁
Enjoy making your Christmas cake xx

Have you ordered the same make of slow cooker?
We once had the lid from ours crack mid cook ,we were not sure if any glass had actually gone into the casserole that was in it so we didn’t take the chance and threw it all out ,
Bit of a bummer but these things happen don’t they 🙄

Went to Specsavers to pick my distance and reading glasses up, these are so much clearer ,
Did a little shopping in Sainsburys but not a lot , as soon as my back started to ache we stopped,
Im nor pushing it too much just doing a little at a time,
I was going to go over to our retail park and go to Superdrug but I will leave that till tomorrow now.

B has the hose out washing the car , it’s a nice bright day , now watch it will rain, always does when he washes the car or the window cleaner comes😁

I rang my hairdresser this morning as my appointment isn’t till mid December but my hair is out of control it’s grown so much.
I asked if I could pop in for a dry cut before she closes one night ,
I know she’s fully booked till January , but she is squeezing me in on Thursday afternoon , 😁
