Daisy and Oma, maybe the hospital experiences merit their own thread ( although I imagine you have no wish to revisit such sad times Daisy
Oma, my mum was only on the hip replacement recovery ward for a week, as she had the care of the home to go back to.
My dad however was on a geriatric ward for 3 weeks, before moving to rehab and then a nursing home. I was not happy with how things were for dad on the ward, and much happier with the care at the rehab place.

Daisy I hope some better weather is in store for your holiday.

It's very windy here today! No chance at all of swimming in the sea - far too wild! I have had 2 swims in the pool but the water was too cold for OH.
Very sunny and warm, but a very choppy sea!

Daisy, it is upsetting to hear your DS spent his last days in a chaotic environment, why wasn’t he looked after in a hospice?
I hope the weather improves for your holiday.

Plant, fortunately that was not where Daisy's DS spent his final days. He was in a wonderful caring hospice with family visiting him frequently. The hospital experience was a little before that. Bad enough but at least things improved a lot

Good morning. Looking overcast at the moment.

Oma, hope MIL is more herself today.
Plant, hope you are getting better.

We are going to Wakefield today.

Daisy, hope you have a lovely holiday with good weather.

Good morning, Oma, what a carry on with your MIL, I always think that my sister was treated dreadfully when she was ill! I know she was in the hospital during lock down, but, the time before that etc.

My friends husband just phoned, all the family were with her when she passed away, grandchildren from Norway arrived on time as well. The cremation is Friday, I will know where when the card arrives.

It is still so humid here, had a work out getting my compression on this morning.

Good Saturday morning, everyone. It's chilly here, but at least it's not raining. Leaving so soon, so have to dash.

Hopefully we will have an internet connection so I can catch up tonight.

Have a great holiday Daisy, and I'm crossing my fingers for good weather.

I can't pretend it's not sunny and warm here

                      Afternoon all.

We went to Tesco this morning, got quite a few bargains with my Tesco club card,
Wish I could do all my shop there but it is pricey ,

Just putting shopping away when DD and Dog turned up.
She stayed for lunch , just left to go to pets at home on her way back .

Oma, no change here I am afraid, just managing on painkillers. I will phone surgery on Monday to see if my doctor has had any cancellations, pigs might fly.

Plant, sorry to hear you're still in pain. Hopefully, you can get sorted sooner rather than later. Did you manage to get a physio appointment? I wouldn't rely on the NHS, I waited over two months before I even got a referral appointment by which time I'd gone privately!

Can't quite believe it's GSs 18th birthday tomorrow! DD was round earlier for garden chairs as he's having his friends round for a party tonight. DD and OH are going to next door neighbours in case of problems! I think we're going to the pub for a meal tomorrow, but as DD said it won't be early!!

Having my hip replaced on 1st October. Get back from holiday on 28th, so I need to be organised before I go! Family all organised to look after me (fingers crossed). Thinking of things I can do to keep me from going stir crazy during my recovery, 6 weeks seems an awfully long time not to be driving etc!

Off to do some batch mince cooking, so DS has something in the freezer!

Enjoy the rest of the day ladies x

WG I know nothing about hip replacements except they are much easier to recover from than knee. One lady on the knee replacement FB group I follow was told by her consultant that her previous hip replacement would seem like a walk in the park compared to what she could expect from her upcoming knee one A bit off putting I imagine. A lady at my aquafit was back in class, for most of the session, 3 weeks post hip replacement op.
Good to have family lined up to help you in your recovery period, make the most of it

Plant soft tissue things can be slow to mend, especially as we get older. Your GS should have some input when he comes.

Gem, a lady opposite had her hip replacement done, she was soon out walking with her frame and on her bike after 4 weeks, no bother at all she said, I have heard of others taking longer though.

I went to a reception, it is the new restaurant at the sport school. They came round with snacks, I took one, took a bite then asked the young man what it was??? Shrimp, I flew to the toilet to spit out what I had bitten off, luckily not a lot, I have swollen lips and tounge, it could have been worse! The girl that owns it, her mother is the manager at our surgery, I told her I almost needed her to help me breath! I will take my tablets next time, or, ask what it is beforehand.

I managed to clean through this morning, I even got my brass polished!

It is still very warm. GD1 has gone to a festival near their village, I hope that she enjoys it, she will!
