Lovely sunny day here as well. Sil managed to cut the grass yesterday, H watched from my windows. My ex guiders meeting this afternoon, we are all getting old, lots of sticks and walkers at the meetings now. It is Christmas crafts and a silent auction this afternoon. I pick up a dear friend who was Tawny Owl.

Daisy, your poor Dil and family, so much sadness in their life.

Oma, pleased to hear you are being sensible and not pushing yourself to do too much.

Just done an order with GD1 for clothes for H, she has put on a spurt. I am so proud of her she just changed pre-schools without any fuss. DD has just been in to see how I am and gave me some ideas for Christmas presents. I have about 18 to think of. Some will definitely have money this year. I also have 3 birthdays in December.

Gemini, Christmas cake making for you, your house will smell nice. GD1’s OH is going to make ours.

Lizzie, pleased you are feeling better and able to get about again. What a shame you were not happy with the Aqua teacher, I expect he was pushed into doing it.

Nanto I wonder what caused your slow cooker lid to crack. The lid on mine is glass surrounded by metal, I don’t use mine much, I should really.

Lizzie, I'm glad you are feeling better.
We occasionally have a relief aqua instructor that we don't like. Het routines are boring and she has to keep referring to notes on paper! Luckily there is a much better relief instructor now who usually takes the class if either of are regular ones are not there.

Plant, we are sadly all getting older. The main thing is we are still here and getting out and doing things

That's good that your hairdresser can fit you in Oma. We can't have you looking like a Yeti!

Busy library morning. DD1 has a Dr's appointment so GS1, who as you know doesn't go to school at present, came here for lunch and the afternoon. He usually stays for tea but is going home before it today.

Lizzie, glad you are feeling better.
        Your DS1 certainly gets around.

I was going to order another Morphy Richards slow cooker, because the one i had, i have had for many many years. Its cooked a few hundred meals.
For some reason i have ordered a Salter one.
When your lid crackedd mid cooking, you didn't have much choice but to throw the meal away.
it was a shame, but you didn't really have a choice.
Plant,it wasn't the lid that cracked,it was the inner pot.
There is a group on Facebook about slow cookers, and i've seen a couple whose slow cookers have exploded.

Had a bit of a busy day. I made 4 steak and onion pies, they are in the freezer now.
        DS1 called,with a workmate of his.We've met him before,a nice lad.
They stayed for something to eat with us. We had jacket potatoes with various fillings.
Finished off with Aunt Bessie's sticky toffee pudding with custard.
        Clean plates all round.

Oh that was a nice meal Nan2!

Our house smells lovely The Christmas cake is almost ready to come out of the oven.

GS1 is a bit perplexed by me making a Christmas cake today! I don't know what type of cake DD makes, but I know she makes it a couple of days before Christmas.

I can all but smell those Christmas cakes in the making.

The funeral went as well as these things can. It was the same crematorium as our DS1's committal, but a different chapel. We got home about 6 o'clock, so it wasn't a long day but I'm exhausted. I'm sorry I'm too tired to comment on everyone's posts, but I have read them all. Night, night. xx

                Good morning.

Daisy, I'm not surprised you're exhausted, hope you have a restful day today.

DS1 and his ex wife coming for dinner today, so I'm doing a roast beef dinner.
I usually cook the meat in the slow cooker, but i don't know what time the new one will come.
I've cooked whole chickens in the air fryer, but not a joint of beef, so we'll see how it goes.
I'll probably plate up an extra dinner for DS to take to work tomorrow.

Lizzie, let us know how you're recipe goes.

                Have a good day ladies.

                  Good morning everyone.

Daisy, the funeral must have been draining, coming so soon after your DS's. I hope you slept well.

I bet your family enjoy that dinner Nan2.

Aqua morning, and out for lunch later. I am meeting my friend C and our mutual school friend.
OH can oversee the manic kittens who have reached boisterous toddler hood

                    Morning ladies

                    Daisy
That must have been upsetting even if it was a different chapel.
I hope you and J slept well . Your poor DIL xxx

                    Nanto
We had a roast pork dinner last night B did the pork in the oven ,
I wish he had done it in the Ninja as the whole house smells of pork this morning 🤢🤮
I bet your DS and ex will appreciate a nice meal made for them.

                    Gem
I can imagine how naughty the kittens are but so much fun 😁
Im sure S will cope ,
                    Enjoy lunch and Aqua.

Ive done my housework and I’m not too bad so we are going to Dunelm this morning for a new towel holder for downstairs loo,
I have a lovely one but it’s only got sticky pads and it keeps falling off,
Bought several types to try make it stick, even paid £8 for gorilla glue double sided tape , that came off within a hour 🙄

So going for one to match my loo roll holder that screws to the wall.
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Good Wednesday morning, everyone. The sun is shining which makes everything feel better.

Nanto, thank you for y our nice, cheerful 'good morning' friends. They certainly put a smile on my face. I'd be interested to know how your joint of beef copes with the air fryer. I haven't been that adventurous yet! I'm sure your DS and ex will enjoy it. Will have you any leftovers for a sandwich or something tomorrow?

Oma, you've been a busy bee already. Don't push yourself too hard. We never have any success with things that are supposed to stick to the wall. The trouble is it's hard to change screw-in fittings and the holes are never in the same places. But, it's the lesser of the two evils I suppose.!

Gem, have a lovely day. I wonder who will be more exhausted when you get home - your boisterous kittens or S! You may well find her curled up on the sofa fast asleep!

I did sleep well last night, thank goodness, but am having a slow start this morning. I don't feel like rushing round. I'm just off to have a shower and then I'll take Eva out and enjoy a walk in the Forest while the sun's shining. I can't go too far or else she'll be too tired for training class this afternoon, but you have to make the most of good weather when you get it! OH is playing cars again today at his pal's, not here.

I'll message DIL1 later. I know she had an early appointment to take Bailey to the vets to have his drain removed. It should have been done yesterday, but obviously with the funeral she couldn't take him. It was lovely to see him looking much perkier and happier. On the subject of cats, I was surprised (and felt ridiculously honoured) that their cat, Scully, made a beeline to come and say 'hello'. We made friends when I was looking after her while DS1 was in the hospice and she clearly remembered me. Although I've probably lost all my goodwill with her now because I didn't feed her yesterday!

Good morning, Nanto, it is in the Ninja at the moment, I had a bit of a rush as GD1 phoned to ask if I fancied going to Delft with here, I rushed to get it in the tin, already to switch on, saw the ####### eggs on the kitchen top!!!! Spooned it all out and re-mixed it, including eggs, I hope it comes out OK!

I was going to circuit but cancelled that, then a meeting this afternoon, cancelled that as well, I am going for a Greekse meal this evening though, it is for the volunteers, well one group, the lady was telling me this morning that they split the meals, treats etc and it works out better, some volunteers, me included, get spoilt twice.

I will see if the cake is ready.

Gem, those kittens will keep you on your toes!!

Pleased you are managing to do some shopping etc Oma.

Daisy, the cremation would be very emotional >.

Oma, now don’t rush things, sometimes I find having to stand for a time is worse than walking.

Daisy, your Dil and family must be feeling very drained after another family funeral.

Lizzie, very sensible of you to reduce your commitments today.

Gem, have a nice time with your friends. I hope S manages those energetic kittens.

Nanto, Your DS and his Ex will be well fed at your house.

I am at the village hall playing board games this afternoon.

How did the cake turn out ?
I remember many years ago making bread , couldn’t figure out why it didn’t rise then realised the yeast was still on the work top😁

                            Daisy
A slow start to the day won’t hurt , Im sure whatever youhave to do will get done anyways 😁
Pleased to hear Bailey is on the mend.

DSs dog a black lab was in having an obstruction removal operation last week ,
Two rubber balls and a sock was discovered.

DS said he hasn’t learned his lesson , only been home from the vets a couple of hours and DS had to force his mouth open to get the cats toy out he was about to swallow 🙄😁

Been to Dunelm for the holder it’s up now so that’s a problem settled,
I then went to Superdrug’s, only wanted some foot cream and deodorant, ended up spending £33 ,
And I still came out without the deodorant.

By then my back was aching so didn’t go anywhere else.

B is busy putting the Christmas lights up outside ,
not to put on but while the weather is good they are going up ready for Christmas.

Every year he ends up going out in the freezing cold to do them, so this year he’s getting a heads start.
Personally I’m not bothered about them but it’s his thing.
They do look pretty but such a pain .
Im not fat just 6ft too small

Oma, Oh dear what a problem your DS has with the dog. Retrievers too are notorious for swallowing things they shouldn’t, a pair of pants for instance. Good idea to get those lights installed before the weather gets colder and wetter.

Good evening ladies! It’s been a glorious day here and by the look of the sunset it should be the same tomorrow.
Had a good night’s sleep, get myself into a little cocoon so I don’t move my operated leg into positions where it shouldn’t be! No painkillers, ice pack, felt really good until I had my physio session. I don’t know what happened but the pain was intense I had to stop and lie down. I managed a few easy moves but I certainly didn’t achieve what I’d hoped for. Anyway back to room, painkillers, ice pack and a lie down helped. Cancelled this afternoon’s appointment but I’m having one before I leave tomorrow. This recovery isn’t a straightforward one!
Had a visit from DS and GS this afternoon which cheered me up . I think they’d had a wander round the clinic before they found me!
Looking forward to going home tomorrow but I’m glad I’ve had this care. It’s been good to know there’s professional help on hand if needed.
Change of subject, the soup here has been very good so I’ve just ordered a soup maker. Does anyone here have one? DD wants one for Christmas so I’ve got her one too!
Have a good evening ladies xx
