When B was at the Dentist on Tuesday ,she prescribed special toothpaste to try to strengthen his enamel and teeth. You can only get it on prescription.
Got home and he had lost the prescription,
He rang her up and she re did it but sent it straight to the pharmacy this time😁

A day in will do you good, it sounds like little E is having a tiring day bless him.

    Daisy
Not a bad idea doing the ironing then going back to bed , I might try that sometime 😁
Yes the book had a good feeling ending and you could imagine what would have happened in the future.
Sometimes you get into a good book and it has a very disappointing weak ending doesn't it.

We had a ride out this morning to a little farm shop about 20 minutes away,
We had seen it advertised on FB so thought we would see what it was like ,
It was very small but I bought a nice homemade farmhouse cake and some stem ginger cookies plus a few other bits.
They didn't have much but what they did looked lovely , plus it was a nice drive through the country roads.

We going to DDs at tea time , it's their Anniversary 27th tomorrow so take their card down ,

    GS 2's 17 th today .

Oma, I hope GS2 has a nice birthday. Seventeen already! The goodies from the farm shop sound very tasty. I agree, it makes such a difference when a book has a good, strong ending, preferably happy, but not too predictable. Are your DD and SIL celebrating their anniversary tomorrow? I hope the toothpaste makes a difference for B.

Gem, it's good to know your OH's check-up was all good - it's something the Consultant may well ask about. Is GS3 having a growth spurt? That could make him extra hungry, poor lamb. I hope he had a good nap, but perhaps as well you hadn't planned to go out anywhere.

I've not done much this morning - I cleaned our bathroom, but otherwise seem to have been on the phone. OH has done a good job weeding the back garden and is now "watching" the tennis with his eyes closed. I'm sure he's really listening to the commentary!

I have watched some tennis but matches not too exciting today and needed to get on with other things. Where do you store your flour? I don’t bake much these days and keep having to throw it away because it contains weevels (sp) although it is in a bag inside a container. I am wondering if they are already there when I buy it. when I buy a new one I am going to put it in the freezer.

Oma, another birthday for your GS2, he is a handsome lad. Being firm with your Mil seems to be what she needs to behave and enjoy herself.

Gemini, I have only grown sweet peas once and it seemed a bit of a fuss but I do love them although I can’t smell them.

Daisy, hope your appt goes well and you are not kept waiting too long.

Nanto, visitors know they will be welcomed in your house and get fed.

No visitors today Plant for us.

Gem,glad OH's dental check up went well.

Good morning. The sun is shinin, but according to the local weather forecast there could be some rain later today.

Not much for me to do today.
Hubby out for his Friday meet up with his pal.

I'll probably do jacket potatoes for dinner with cheese and beans.

              Good morning ladies.

Sun and breeze here. It does mention the chance of rain here Nan2.

Plant, I haven't heard of freezing flour but it's probably a good idea.

I hope your GS2 enjoyed his birthday Oma.

Daisy, I hope the traffic isn't too bad. I would prefer those early appointments too. Get it done with and get on with the rest of the day.

I will see all 3 GSs today.
GS1 is coming for the day. GS2 school pick up and back here. Then DD, SIL and GS3 are all staying the night. SIL will arrive so little E sees his cousins before they go.
I think it will be fish and chips for the masses at teatime!
I will write about why DD3 etc are staying on a separate thread.
I am definitely on the mend. Still a bit deaf, slight cough, but much better

                It's overcast and dull here.

Taking MIL out for lunch today then to M & S ,
Just rang DD & SIL to wish them happy Anniversary before they start work.

A late "hello" from me today. The hospital visit was uneventful, apart from waiting over an hour for my 8.30 appointment. They were very apologetic and I could see it was busy with a lot of patients having complex treatments. Mine was over and done in under 10 minutes. We went straight over to collect Eva, and I stayed outside as DS2 has got what sounds like the same type of cold as Gem's suffering from. Cooper came out and gave me a good welcome. Eva ran straight past me and got in the car! I'd had breakfast at 7 o'clock so when we got home about 11.30 I was hungry and actually thought it was lunch-time. OH made us coffee and we had Eccles cakes, then I fell asleep. And again after lunch. I must try and get an early night tonight. It's been warm and mostly sunny here - it's 22C at the moment.

Nanto, I do like the love birds. It's good to have an easy day!

Gem, thank goodness your cold is finally clearing up, especially as you have such a busy day. Although the three cousins will probably amuse each other to some extent. Even with 10 years between our GS1 and GD2 they do all keep each other company when they meet up. I love the fact that they get on so well together, and I'm sure yours are very similar. Fish and chips seems to please everyone, don't they.

Oma, happy anniversary to your DD and SIL, even if it is a working day. I hope MIL has enjoyed her lunch and you got what you wanted in M&S.

I hope everyone is ok and looking forward to a pleasant week-end.

Gemini, a full house for you today, lovely to have all the GC together, don’t get too tired. Pleased to hear you are feeling a bit better.

Daisy, Ooo Eccles cakes, love them. Pleased your treatment was uneventful but shame it was a long wait. Eva was anxious to get home again.

Oma I hope Mil enjoys her day out, sounds very enjoyable.

The flour doesn’t actually freeze but doesn’t allow the mites to hatch as apparently they are already in the flour.

Just been invited next door for a glass of Rose, see you!

                      Well I am exhausted,
We picked MIL up at 12 then went for tea and toasted tea cakes,
She wanted to go in our shopping mall, so we went to Boots first, she wanted nail varnish, then into Shoe zone for slippers,
Then to B&M , Savers , the pound shop and Bon marche,
From there across to the retail shop to M&S and Home bargains ,
All the while treating me like her personal slave,
Get this, get that, put these slippers on then put her shoes back on.
At one point she actually clicked her fingers at me 😱
B was in stitches , I was about to throttle her😡
We then brought her to ours for tea and cake before she went home.
Getting her coat she said put it on for me and do the zip up,
I said " put the bloody broom up my backside I will brush your floors while I'm on "

Not that she was moody just very demanding , then had the nerve to say she was tired,
Yes very tiring sitting in a wheelchair throwing orders out lv🙄

Oma, another lovely day with MIL.

Gem, good to hear you are on the mend.

Daisy, glad your appointment didn't take long apart from the waiting.

I spent 3 hours today sorting the computer for the neighbour who recently lost her hubby.
She asked hubby if he would try and sort it for her, well she was asking the wrong one there.
Guess who got volunteered for the job.
I told her i'm no expert and wouldn't be responsible for anything going wrong.
There was a lot of her hubby's stuff on there, that she wanted deleting.
Finally got it sorted and set up a new email for her.
I emailed her earlier, to just to make sure it was ok. She did reply, saying thanks and she is all sorted now.

Well done, Nanto. Giving her some help now will hopefully give her more confidence to use it without too many hitches.

Oma, and the award for Patience Under Extreme Provocation today goes to YOU! I think B was lucky not to get something thrown at him when he was laughing though! He was living very dangerously.

Plant, yes, Eccles cakes are popular in our house. How lovely having an early evening glass of wine with family. Many thanks for the tip about freezing flour. I keep some gluten-free flour in for baking when the GDs are here, but sometimes it's gone out of date and I've thrown a lot out.

Gem, did you all enjoy your fish and chips?

OH cooked lamb chops, new potatoes and veggies for dinner tonight, and I've had so much sleep today, I now feel quite energetic. But will still aim for that early night, even if I read for longer.

Our niece, her OH and baby son are visiting tomorrow morning. They live in Lancashire, but are down for their nephew's 18th birthday, just further along the coast. J, the baby, is now nearly 9 months old and he's always smiling, and has a wicked twinkle in his eye. I'm so looking forward to my first cuddle - if he will sit still long enough. DS2 and family were going to drop in just to say 'hello', but with their colds it's not a good idea, either for me or for baby J. It is also the first anniversary of our dear DS1 passing away, so it will be good to have something happy happening.

I have read all your posts just now though.
All went well with the boys and we did enjoy our fish and chips Daisy.

Busy 2 days coming up for DD's 2 and 3 heavily involved in organizing a weekend festival.
At some point I will post about this, but a bit tired now!

Thinking of you all tomorrow Daisy xxxx

                                Night everyone.
