Oma, what a lovely time you've had. It's what birthdays are for!
Gem, I'm pleased to hear you are feeling a bit better and hope you will be well enough to enjoy your evening out with your friends.
WeeGranny, that was an eventful walk. It was very kind of you to take so much trouble to reunite the dog with her family. You'd think the owners would be out looking for her, and overjoyed that you had taken so much trouble to take her back to them. One of our Yorkies was an escape artist and we were always so grateful when neighbours found and returned him. But I found a local dog wandering a few months ago and took him back. The owners didn't realise he'd escaped and were too shocked and upset to be grateful. They were probably also a little embarrassed.
After a cloudy start to the day the sun is now blazing down and its 25C, but with no wind today it feels hotter. The clouds didn't clear in time for me to see the Red Arrows flying over our house, but at least I heard them!
I got a few chores done this morning, then a friend called round so I stopped for coffee. While it was still overcast I cleaned the dining room windows, which had been neglected for ages. They look much better now! But mostly I've had a lazy day. I'll make a frittata and a salad for dinner tonight. I'm going to try Grauntie's recommendation for beetroot with onions and mayo. OH is due home sometime tomorrow, but seems to be having a good time.
