    Lizzie
I hope you have a lovely birthday meal , so kind of your friend 😊

    Daisy
Did you get rain during the night ? If you did it will have helped filling the pond ,
I said to B yesterday when we were talking about your pond ,( we were in the aquarium at the time)
    Our DD would love one.

    Gem
M&S meal deals are good , I like pate on toast for lunch some days.
We had the curry meal deal the first night here.

It's rained hard all night and still raining but forecast fine after lunch.
So we are having a lazy start
Just had a nice bubble bath and haven't bothered getting dressed yet , but I'm having a bit time on here and a cup of tea then might get dressed after.

      Good morning everyone.

Oma , a lazy start with a bubble bath sounds a good idea on holiday

Nan2, how sweet those swans are

      Happy Bank holiday Lizzie!

Daisy we have rain your pond is welcome to!!

After a long dry spell it seems to be raining every day.
DD3 has another pizza in the park event this afternoon /evening like they had last month. There is a singer giving a free concert too. Last month they were so lucky with the weather. It is forecast fine at that time, so fingers crossed.

Little E today. I will take him to the library this morning. I am waiting to hear whether or not they want us to meet SIL after work at the park. SIL may just want to take E home from here as usual. I think our friends C and P may go to the pizza thing , so I will get in touch if we are going.

        Good Thursday morning, everyone.

Lizzie, enjoy your birthday lunch. You wonder where all the traffic comes from at Bank holidays, don't you.

Nanto, I'm sure your Hubby and DS1 will have quite an appetite after their journey. It's lovely to see swans going beak to beak like that - especially when you get a good reflection in the water as well.

Oma, you've reminded me we haven't had pate on toast for ages. There's duck and orange pate in the fridge so nothing to stop us having today! Good for you relaxing and making the most of that lovely bath. I hope the weather clear up for you after lunch, meanwhile enjoy the relaxation. Has your Dd got plans for a wild life pond?

Gem, I hope it stays dry for the Pizza in the Park today. Good weather makes such a difference. Little E has had a busy and exciting week. I bet he has a lovely time at the library as well.

We had rain overnight. I haven't checked the water butts yet, but everywhere is very wet, so hopefully there will be enough to finish filling the pond. I'm hoping it will be finished today. I'm also hoping it will brighten up enough to get the washing dried - it's not looking great at the moment.

Ah, I know where you are now Oma! I missed the post which said where you were going. It’s a great area, and I hope you enjoyed the Donald Campbell exhibition at the Ruskin Museum if you went.
Daisy, I am envious of your pond. I hope you have a great time choosing the plants. That would be my idea of a good time.
I seem to be just wasting time today. Car has gone in for service and MOT so I’m grounded till later today.
We went to see DD2 yesterday, DD1 arrived with GD, which was lovely and great to catch up. I had earmarked a handsome young man for GD in Crete, working in the family business until he does his national service, but she has found another! Oh well, bang goes my dream of free holidays.
My car is ready. Let’s see how many red lights I can run through in Gangsta Grannie mode….

It stopped raining at about 11 so we went to the Ruskin museum to see the Bluebird then a stroll around the village , it was surprisingly warm.
Had a right kerfuffle paying for parking,
Half the car park is under construction and none of the meters worked,

I went into the museum to ask what to do , she said go down the road over the bridge to the copper mine you pay there.
It was a fair trip to the copper mine to pay but B managed to get the app on his phone and pay that way.

Parking everywhere is expensive, £5 for two hours but when you go to tourist sites you expect this I think ,
Even getting into the toilets in the likes of Windermere is 60p a time what happened to spending a penny 😁

            Daisy
DD would love a pond and they have the room for one .

            Gem
I hope the weather is finer for the pizza in the park,

            GM
No more peddle to the metal for you 🤣
Shame GD found herself another young man ,
Think of all the sunshine holidays your missing out on 🤣

Parking can be such a pain Oma, and expensive. Parking in York is astronomical, we are usually pleasantly surprised when we go to other places .

Did you have pate for lunch Daisy? I had some of the M&S pate on toast for my lunch today.

Grauntie, steady behind the wheel now

We are not taking little E to the pizza in the park as SIL is collecting him from here and straight home. So he will have his tea and bath here as normal.
The weather still isn't nice so we are not sorry to not be going to be honest.
I really hope it fairs up and plenty of people turn up

Oma, I won't mention the parking prices here!!!

A neighbour has just been for coffee, her sons grew up with mine, the youngest being almost 50, he is very will in the hospital with Bullous emphysema, he went into the hospital with a collapses lung, they transferred him to Rotterdam on Monday to operate then discovered he has this in both lungs! The doctors said they were very surprised to see lungs like it in such as young person. They are now trying to find out if it genetic, if it is he has the chance of a transplant.

Weather has been quite pleasant today. I had to collect some tablets from the local hospital and do some grocery shopping, GD1 and H had to visit the library so we managed to fit it all in plus lunch. So now I am very tired and my back is sore. I hate being old and dependent on people.

Lizzie, I hope they can find a way to help your neighbours son.

Gemini, shame about the weather, I hope the Pizza in the Park is well attended.

Daisy, I hope you got the pond filled to welcome your first visitor. The frogs will be spawning now. I often have pate on toast for lunch.

Oma, So pleased you are having a relaxed time, the bath sounds good. My OH and I loved the lakes, did quite a bit of walking there.

Plant I think most of us feel that way about being dependant on others and wish we could always do everything for ourselves.

You are still very independent though you know, driving and doing so much for yourself. It's natural to need some help and your family love you and I know will be happy to support you however you need.
You were a good mum and grandma and helped and supported them when they needed it!

Lizzie, how sad about that young man.

SIL and GS3 have gone, OH cooking, so feet up for Grandma

Gangsta Granny, what a pity about no free holidays.

This morning started off grey and drizzly, but this afternoon it was sunny and warm.
We were able to have a cuppa in he garden.

Gem, hope it was good weather for Pizza in the Park.

Plant, hope you have felt better today.

Grauntie, what a pity your match-making plans haven't worked. I hope your GD's young man is a worthy alternative though. I'm really looking forward to choosing plants for the pond and putting some finishing touches to it.

Plant, you fitted in a lot today, and any sort of shopping is tiring, isn't it. Gem's right - you've helped and supported your family for many years, and I'm sure they are only to happy to feel they are helping you when necessary.

Lizzie, I do hope they can treat your neighbour's son - what a worry for all of them.

Gem, I'm sure you were more than ready to put your feet up tonight. Little E must have been tired out as well after his exciting week. Yes, we had pate, but OH made it into pate and salad sandwiches.

Nanto, the weather picked up here as well. It was quite warm once the sun came out, and all the washing dried well.

Oma, parking charges in touristy places are crazy. That's assuming you can cope with the various apps and payment methods and don't end up racking up huge fines. There's talk of starting to charge for car parks (just areas for parking, in mud if it rains) actually in the Forest, and all the locals are up in arms, and we know what will happen - people will park illegally on grassy edges of roads, or even on the roads which are already narrow and winding. It will be a nightmare, and very dangerous for the livestock. .

Good morning. Sun is shining and there's a bit of a breeze.

Daisy, glad you got the washing dry.

Upstairs cleaning for me this morning, but firstly I'm going to tidy the cupboard where all the baking stuff lives.

Hubby out later for his usual Friday meet up.

No cooking for me, we are having fish and chips.

                            Good morning everyone.

I think we are due a fish and chip night Nan2. We are eating out tomorrow night though so it won't be tonight. Next week perhaps. Enjoy yours

Daisy I'm sure all of us living in high tourism areas are hit with very high parking charges. Now OH and I qualify for free bus fares, it never makes sense to take the car into York and we rarely do.

I am meeting a friend for lunch today. Golf for OH. I may sort through my clothes later, my wardrobe needs a sort out!
Golf competition for OH. At her own club so no travelling.

                            Have a good Friday everyone.

                              Good Friday morning, everyone.

Nanto, what a lovely graphic. Enjoy your fish and chips.

Gem, I'm sure York must be a no-go area for lots of people - expensive parking, that's if you can find a space! Your bus passes are really useful. Enjoy your lunch with your friend, and good luck to OH in the golf competition.

I'm having a slow start today, but it's dry and quite warm so I will hopefully feel like pottering in the garden later.

I am going to the village hall again, this afternoon for a tea party provided by Village Care. They are a group of local volunteers who are at the end of a phone if I need a lift somewhere and once a year they hold a tea party. We really are well looked after in our village. Cleaner due whilst I am out so I should return to a freshly made bed and clean bathrooms etc. I have been quite busy this morning so will be pleased with the result.

Daisy, I hope the sun shines so you can feel like pottering in the garden. Have those frogs arrived, perhaps the neighbours can help or they might hop there. Is it Good Friday, one day is like the other to me now.

Gemini, enjoy your lunch with your friend. My wardrobe needs a sort out too.

Nanto, I could do with sorting out my baking tins etc. Fish and chips sound good for you and OH.
