Oma, nicer to have some company than do pressure hosing!

I'm glad you had a nice meal Nan2.

Daisy I really feel for your OH, this type of thing seems to really drag on. My croaky voice is so much less now, but still not right. I tend to flag around this time of day too.

OH got a nice potted hyacinth and thank you card for her time on the committee. She will continue to look after the newer members at the Thursday roll up sessions and help in other ways but she will no longer be a committee member and have to attend monthly meetings.

I sat in the garden for a while with a cup of tea this morning as it was very nice. The local bad cat scared ours yesterday, particularly Moses who didn't want to be out there without me, so I was there as minder!
My auntie was fine. We had a nice chat on the phone and I arranged to go to see her in a couple of weeks time

Oma, having DD, SIL and Storm over for lunch is miles better than pressure washing the paving. Your SIL is very good helping to move the furniture.

Gem, poor Moses. I hope the bad cat hasn't scared him to the point where he doesn't want to go out. It's good to hear your Auntie was well - with so many bugs around you can't help but worry a bit. S has certainly earned her retirement from the Ladies' Committee. My college friend who organises our lunches at her golf club was Secretary on the Ladies' Committee for several years, and it really was like having a full-time job. She also did other things including setting up a section for girls joining and starting to play. It kept her very busy. Do you think S will just enjoy the extra free time, or will she volunteer for something else?

        Good morning.
Sun is shining, so that's a good start.

Oma, hope your sister is OK.
Lovely to have good company yesterday.

Probably not much happening here today, a quiet day for a change.

Not doing a Sunday dinner, we have some fish cakes to use. They are bird's eye cod, but we aren't fussed about them, but we won't waste them.
I won't be buying them again. We'll have some fries and peas with them.
Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

          Good Sunday morning, everyone

Nanto, it's nice to have a day with nothing much happening, especially when you've been out the day before. It's hard to throw away perfectly good food, just because you're not that keen on it, isn't it. Never mind, you'll know not to buy those fishcakes again, and the fries and peas will be fine.

Oma, how is your sister today?

Plant, when do your DD and SIL get back from Normandy? Is little H ok now?

I hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine, even though it's still so cold. We had a frost overnight again. No particular plans for me today. I might do some washing and I think OH wants to do some wood turning.

            Morning ladies

            Nanto
We had some Birdseye chicken fingers in ,
I wasn't sure about them but last night I wasn't hungry so I just did 3 of them with some beans and they were ok
Like you and the fish cakes I wouldn't buy them again though.

            Daisy
Sister feels battered and bruised , I have pleaded with her to go see the Dr about these falls but she won't so no use arguing,

I've done two loads of washing and B is finally getting the chance to pressure hose the pavings,
So while he did that I have emptied the clothes out of the wardrobe used the little trolly thing we have to move my dressing table drawers as SIL had put them down by the bed in the spare room but we need that space for the mattress to stand tomorrow ,
Moved the dressing table top to the other side of the room and trollied the two massive tubs of emulsion into our room ,
Had a shower as by that time I was dripping and very sweaty πŸ₯΅
In the process I've managed to pull down the shower curtain of the hooks,
Without the ladders I can't put them back and I don't have the strength at the minute,
I will have a rest before I carry those upstairs.

              Good morning everyone.

Make the most of day with nothing pressing to do, Nan2 and Daisy

              Oma, don't overdo it!!

Nothing planned here apart from colouring my hair. Its my turn to cook. I took some lamb mince out of the freezer last night and will make shepherd's pie.
We are both around so can keep an eye on the kittens in the garden.
That bad cat who is called Gizmo is notorious around here. He has attacked Sooty next door several times. Even the neighbours backing on to us who have no cats of their own have commented how mean he is He's been around for years, I keep hoping he will get too old to try to dominate the neighbourhood.

We have decided to go out for lunch, so the lamb mince can remain in the fridge and I will make Shepherd's pie tomorrow

OH is at present in the garden attempting to make the corner Gizmo usually uses to get into the garden inaccessible!
If that doesn't work we have plans to deport him , along with Trump and Putin to a far away island with no way of getting off.

Hallo everyone, Gem, I hope that works for the cat! I often here cat fights down in the park during the night

The sun is out but a bitter cold wind with it.

Oma, you do seem to be always busy. Your sister should get to see the doctor,, isn't there someone to persuade her?

I went to do my work for the charity yesterday, my idea was to stay one hour, it was a full day!!! We, they, got so much done and the hall looks so much better now, lots of plants etc, more light and the men made a wall unit display from pallets, looked very smart as well, I did leave all the lifting etc to the younger ones, I was very impressed by one of the y0ung girls, she told me she is 23 years old, she certainly worked, all day long she was helping in every way she could.

I have come to the conclusion that the pain in my leg is from an inflamed muscle, the one important factor I forgot to tell my physio was the fever whilst active! On the scan he could see the right muscle was different to the left etc, less strength as well. Immune system very low, shingles twice etc etc. He did see that my hip had arthritis , I understand that, all my joints are the same, this pain was definitely from the lower muscle. I was telling the trainer this morning about it and he agreed, especially the fever part of it. I. have an appointment on Tuesday so will tell the physio. It is much easier now, luckily.

Nanto, I am never keen on frozen fish etc, if I do buy it it will end up in the bin!

I have been boiling garlic for the plants on the balcony, the whole house smells of it!

I am waiting to see if DS1 is home then go there for a coffee.

Love it Gemini, Putin, Trump and Gizmo on far away island, definitely! Enjoy your lunch out.

Daisy, my gardening friend did not cover much ground, she cleared out an area under my sitting room window where the bluebells are. My DD and Sil are back tomorrow but very late so we will not see them until the morning.

Oma, now young lady just you be careful not to do too much. It will be nice and fresh when it is finished.

Nanto, Much nicer to go out to lunch,

What is life if full of care we have no time to stand and stare

As usual I have no sense and I have slogged on ,
I will feel it tomorrow no doubt,

I have just ironed and put fresh towels out ,
I took down the bedroom curtains and the pole,
And I have decided we need a new pole so I have ordered one with new finials on the ends.
I also managed to get the shower curtain sorted.

                      Gem
                      Enjoy your lunch out.
We have a very mean nasty Ginger tom that bullies all the cats ,
The fights they have you would think someone was being murdered.

A few weeks ago they were under our sitting room window he had a little boy cat pinned to the ground ,
B had to throw water on him to get him to let go ,
Obviously making sure this little boy cat knew he was top cat in the area😑

                      Lizzie
Sounds like a very productive day you had in the hall,
My Physio for the pain in my leg I have had for 16 months has decided to send me to the hospital
                      To the biomechanics dept,
Fingers crossed they can sort it .

I think if I lived near you I would be moving out for the day,
I hate the smell of garlic it's what my DS would call the devils food πŸ˜‚πŸ˜ˆπŸ‘Ώ

Oma, i don't like the smell of garlic either. Its something i never use.

We managed to spend a couple of hours gardening this morning, before the rain came.

Hubbys pal came this morning, brought something he had broken.
While they were in shed fixing it, i got busy.
I made 3 pies for the freezer, not pastry pies. corned beef pies, similar to cottage pies.

The fish cakes weren't too bad,but i put a bit of tomato ketchup on my plate.
Lizzie, i buy birds eye breaded cod, and we like them.

No plans for us today, will see how the day progresses.

We've had rain during the night. Just watched the weather forecast and its going to be warmer this week if they have got it right.

Dinner is braising steak, cheesy mash and veg. Took the meat and mash out of the freezer yesterday.

                            Morning Nanto/ladies that follow.

                            Nanto
Braising steak done in the oven with onions and thinly sliced potatoes is maybe the only time I would eat steak, it changes the texture and taste so I quite like it πŸ™‚

We were up very early to get the last bits out of our bedroom like the bed , what a nightmare trying to move a big heavy mattress.

I have to go pick the new curtain pole up this morning then hospital this afternoon,
Then tonight we will have to move everything back into our room and clear spare room ready for decorating tomorrow.
I'm dreading it , never mind once it's done it's done for a couple of weeks then we will have to empty them again for the new carpets 😱,
SIl wanted to do them at the weekend but we need a rest in-between and anyway the paintwork needs doing first.

                              Good Monday morning, everyone.

Nanto, it's drizzling with rain here but I think it was dry overnight. The braising steak sounds good. I'm always disappointed when I cook it - there must be a secret I'm missing. Did your Hubby fix his pal's "thingummy" yesterday?

Oma, reading about all your furniture moving nightmares put me off decorating. It's not just the preparation and actual decorating, it's everything else that needs to be done that puts me off. Still, I'm sure it will be lovely when it's finished. Try not to overdo the lifting, though. I hope the hospital goes ok this afternoon.

I was up early (for me) and have got washing on already. Eva has got an appointment at the vets later this morning. She had antibiotics a couple of months ago for a problem with an anal gland and we thought it had cleared up, but she's started licking that area again so I think she may need another course of ABs. Hopefully it won't take long as we're going to the nearest branch, rather than the hospital.

I hope everyone is ok. I'll drop in again later.

It sounds as though everyone was busy yesterday

                                Very dull morning here.
Back to aqua for me. I feel I am up to it again now. My hip has been bothering me, and I'm sure the lack of my usual exercises is a lot to do with it
Reflexology for me this afternoon. It will be interesting to see if my chest reflex indicates the infection and congestion.
Have a good day everyone, and I hope a week of all being well!!
