Morning ladies , Well we survived the night Gem
We ended up with 3 heaters , so put one in living room , one in Kitchen and one in Bedroom .
It took about a hour to thaw everything out but by time we went to bed it was lovely and toasty ,
Had a message to say engineer will get to us today hopefully but no time slot as they are overloaded with work ,but at least we are not totally without heat now with the heaters ,

Tired today but have had the best 4 days ever , very spoilt by Aunty Ingrid and Cousins will put some pics on later , haven't laughed so much even MIL was quite good , she had her moments but I took control and told her if she started and stepped out of line , she can be extremely bad mannered and rude to people , lack of disabled facilities are shocking I will write about that on another thread ,
Have a good day ladies XX

I am just off for yet another MRI scan, also shopping, petrol putting in, tyre inflation (this car is too cleve for its own good, it beeps Nd tells you what is wrong, problem is if you don’t do it immediately it keeps nagging you e dry time you get in the car). Haven’t been out since Friday. Slightly snowing but miss with rain so don’t think thee will be any road problems. Trying to get in touch with my line manager and getting worried as she seems to be avoiding me which gives me a bad feeling.

What a worrying time for you Zizi, sending hugs.

I would love to meet your Mil Oma. Hope your heating is sorted soon.

Fingers crossed your washing machine behaves itself Daisy.

It is still snowing here but it is not freezing, GD got to work for 6.00 and sil has gone to work so the roads must be okay. The Christmas meal with my Guiding friends will be held in January with luck. It is prepared by the committee so no restaurant involved. My Embroidery Group Christmas meeting has been cancelled too. I haven't seen snow as thick as this for years, the village came to a standstill yesterday, the local pubs did a roaring trade. Haven't heard if GS1 is back from Budapest but GS3 is on his way back from Ireland, just had a chat with him.

I hope all went well wit the scan Zizi.
How do you feel tonight Daisy?

It got above freezing for a couple of hours due to the sun. By the time I dropped mum off home it was freezing again.
OH and team won the golf this morning, so she was in the mood to put up the outside Christmas lights

We had a lovely lunch. So large it was getting quite cold by the time we’d finished Christmas pud for afters.well yummy. No more food required so far this evening
Oma I’m so glad you’re all toasty again. I bet those engineers are rushed off their feet with his freezing weather.
Gem, glad OH won her golf tournament if only for the sake of your outside lights.
My GC didn’t go to school today because of the snow. GD was due to take some mock GCSEs so I don’t know when they will be rescheduled I hope before Christmas. She doesn’t want them hanging over her holiday

SCAN - I got to the hospital in good time. 10.45 came and went. 11.15 asked to complete a permission form as they were going to inject dye in me. Another wait for fifteen minutes. Told to drink four cups of water. Taken to have a cannula put in. Waited, waited, waited. 1.00 pm asked nurse how long it would be as I had been there over two hours. “Oh I don’t think so” she said. Yes, I told her, I got here just after 10.30 and loads of people have come and gone. She trotted off and came back and told me that my notes had fallen on the floor and I had “been lost temporarily”. Ten minutes after that I was called in for a twenty minute scan. It took so long and I had so much to do so I was feeling quite stressed and had a headache,

Got back home after filling car with petrol and getting bread and I felt quite exhausted AND I badly needed the loo after all that water. In addition when I was coming out of the petrol station (needing the loo and being fed up and having a headache) there were temporary traffic lights three car lengths from the exit to the left and I wanted to go straight across. So what driving instructor tells their pupil to pull out across the mini roundabout and blocks the exit from the petrol station? It is quite a busy road at the best of times and it took me ages to get out when the lights changed. I had to be a racing driver and put my foot down to get across the mini roundabout before the traffic came from the opposite direction.

Tomorrow I shall be up early as it is my day to go to each of my sites to collect donation boxes of clothes, toiletries and food for homeless shelters and food banks. I have a helper. He lives in central London and is used to town driving so I am meeting him at Kings Cross. Hopefully the roads will not be too busy and the reserved places at sites for loading have actually been reserved and we are not going to be dragging boxes half way around London physically! Also hopefully there will be reasonable weather and not too cold. Cross your fingers for me please.

Zizi - how frustrating you had to wait so long for such a stupid reason. No wonder you were feeling stressed without the problems of the traffic lights. I hope you're having a relaxing evening, and that the scan results are good. Definitely crossing fingers and toes for tomorrow for you. xx

Nanto - 4 degrees! Wow, break out the suncream..

Gem - congratulations to OH and her team - another trophy for the mantlepiece?

Clover - I bet you won't be hungry by breakfast tomorrow after such a huge meal. Glad you both enjoyed it. I bet the GCs enjoyed their unexpected day off. I'm sure the mock GCSE will take place before the end of term - the school will want to mark the papers asap. Wish her luck from us grannies.

Oma - don't you really appreciate heating when you've been without it! So glad yours is fixed.

Plant - it looks as though January will be a busy time socially with all the delayed activities. I hope the roads are ok tomorrow and are gritted.

I am beginning to realise I can't cope with weather this cold. By the time I picked GD2 up from playgroup I was exhausted and all I wanted to do was have a nana nap. But that wan't an option! Fortunately GD2 was also tired after her first day back after being poorly. So we had a relatively quiet afternoon. The journey home was much quieter than usual - I think a lot of people had stayed off the roads even though they were ok apart from standing water. But if it freezes tonight it will be treacherous tomorrow - we very rarely get our roads gritted. I've arranged for DS2 and DIL to take GD2 to work with them and I'll pick her up from there which means I don't have to do the journey in the dark. I stand a better chance of getting there in one piece in daylight!

That's a really good idea Daisy, anything which avoids that dark drive is good!
I have to be out early tomorrow to see GS1's play so I hope it isn't icy. At least it will be light however.

Zizi, I was sure I replied to you, but heaven knows where it is!!
I was saying what a horrible day for you

What bad luck Zizi, that was a long wait.

Daisy, you seem to be doing more child care these days, you take care not to overdo things.

I think it will be another day at home tomorrow, main roads are clear but our track and road are slushy so the family tell me.
