Had a busy day yesterday preparing for DS’visit, it’s surprising what ends up in the spare bedroom, isn’t it? 😀. I’ll have to crank the heating up for him, they’ve been having lovely weather over there, it is almost their summer. DIL said he has packed his winter woollies, so he has come prepared.

DH rang me last night with a list of things he’d like me to take in today, a good sign he is feeling much better and a bit fed up that he can’t do as much as usual.

So I'm not looking at or replying to everything, so don't be offended! I' ll catch up when I get home, and write about the.trip in my journal.
It's raining but set to improve. Friends flight due in at 8. 45am
at Heathrow. OH and I will have breakfast round here, then meet them for lunch once she's been in touch. We'll be with her all day, but I imagine dinner will be early as she will be exhausted. I would be!!

Good morning, everyone. thank you for the nice colourful graphic, Nanto - it's raining, grey and dull here this morning. I'm glad I did some gardening yesterday, but it means there's no escape from the yellow flappy thing and the noisy sucky up thingy!

Gem - I hope your friend's had a good flight and not too tired and that your tooth doesn't hurt. Enjoy your day.

Mimi - your cat is treated like a queen! Although I suppose if she was royalty she'd have her own indoor private facilities, complete with a nice flower border with soft soil to keep her happy. If it's any consolation, I often find myself in the garden at silly o'clock, rain or shine, trying to encourage Eva to 'hurry up', but to be fair she does seem to be able to go a long, long time between 'visits'. This morning she had her breakfast about an hour ago, and still hasn't needed to go in the garden!

Enfys - as you say, it's a good sign that your OH is feeling more like himself - thank goodness. I'm sure your DS won't be worried about what's in your spare room - he will just be delighted to see you and OH. I'm sure he'll appreciate the heating being turned up, though. xx

Enfys I’m glad OH is more his normal self and I bet you can’t wait to see DS.
I’m hoping to have a good browse around on-line looking for inspiration for C.......s gifts.Sorry Daisy I’m afraid it’s “got”to me.
Oh and I’ve just received my new slow cooker so will be investigating recipes etc.I must also do my Tesco on-line shop.Has anyone else come across their “new”website? I’m finding it slow and frustrating.If I don’t get to grips with it in a few weeks I might have to defect to Sainsbugs.

Clover I dislike the new website also. I can’t defect to another online grocery store as I have just paid a 12 month delivery subscription of £77 so I would loose my money, I will just have to get used to it I suppose.

Drippy weather here today, SIL was hoping to cut hedges today. My fellow Friday G&T GD is house sitting so I was having a quiet one when the family decided to join me with their Friday drink, DD, SIL GD2 and boyfriend, then a friend of theirs arrived, good job my dinner was in the slow cooker. England playing rugby today so with the weather as it is I will probably watch it. I have promised GD1 that I will take her out for a meal this evening to a pub quite close to where she is house sitting. GD gets £25 a day so it is quite lucrative, she has sat for this couple quite a bit, they have a dog.

Enfys so pleased OH is feeling better , he must be if he’s rang and wants some bits and pieces he will be home very soon I am sure, I would be beside myself waiting for DS to arrive just a pity the circumstances aren’t more for happier reasons but I think his visits will be a tonic for you both.

Plant isnt it lovely when family amd friends call in randomly when not expected I love those visits , we too are taking eldest g/ d out for tea today

Clover we used our slow cooker yesterday we are not fans of chicken but bought some mini breasts because it’s good for you, put mushrooms, onion, leeks and carrots the smell was amazing permeating through the house, it was cooked perfectly veg made a lovely juice but no we can’t take chicken on not for me founds it tasteless

Oma I am sort of cleaning windows today , they are not easy we have 3 internal doors with 2 stained glass panels in each so that’s 6 sides not easy job

Dd is going to a 40 th party tonight her OH is away working , she will be collecting her tomorrow Dd having Sunday lunch with us then the twins Monday and Tuesday and on the 5th day she rested

Will try and get on this w/e if I don’t enjoy yours
