Gem that is why we had to have them sawn, when they were originally delivered we ended up paying to have the sitting room window taken out and put back in. We tried to order the new blinds but we clearly have extremely expensive taste as the quote is over a thousand quid! That was the second attempt, the first one we were told the windows were too big. The material for the second attempt was lovely but not a thousand pounds lovely so we have compromised on the next best one at just under three hundred pounds. Shame but there you go, third time lucky.

We are lucky with our suite we took a panel out of the back fence , furniture van pulled onto the grass behind and brought it through the patio doors , had to negotiate a gap in the trees but they did it and panel from fence just slotted back in ,

When my DD got her first house about 20 years ago she had this sofa and chair from Barker & Stonehouse , it was all foam and so close to the floor I had to roll onto my knees to get up from itthey loved it ,
It was ok for youngsters , Was hysterical watching me and her MIL trying to get up , getting down was hard enough hahahaIm not fat just 6ft too small

Just got back from a wonderful firework display.
When we got our last suite, leather 2 seater and 3 seater. The delivery men refused to even attempt to get it in the house.
Hubby had to take some kitchen units out, and bring it in through the conservatory, into the kitchen then into the living room.
Luckily 2 of his brothers came to help.Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Ha ha, husband just fell off his “camper” he forgot there was no arm and fell between the two pretend chairs. I am very sorry but I must admit I did laugh at him, well he laughed at me! I am wondering how many bones we will break before the new chairs come on Wednesday. Maybe I should put the spare duvets on the floor around us to break our falls? If you want to go fast go alone, if you want to go far go together

I'm loving all these tales of hazardous sofas and chairs - I never knew they were so dangerous. Please take care, everyone!
We've been lucky never having to take the house apart to get furniture in, but we did come unstuck once. It was the usual story of a job move for OH so we always tried to move quickly and get settled down again, otherwise we'd have been living out of packing cases all the time. Anyway, this time we had bought a brand new house, still being built, and it was much smaller than the sprawling Edwardian one we were leaving. We had a very very large oak sideboard which OH loved but would it fit in our tiny new dining room which wasn't even built at that stage? So we measured the house next door and yes, it fitted with about 2mm to spare! We didn't realise that house measurements aren't that consistent, and our dining room ended up 5mm smaller than next doors and the wretched sideboard wouldn't fit. We had to put it on another wall, where it looked awful. It was a good job we knew we wouldn't be there long!"Joy is what happens to us when we allow ourselves to recognise how good things really are. "

Oh Nana I do hope you are not reading this at this particular moment in time, I hope you are catching up on some much needed sleep. Two nights in a row now I have gone straight to sleep as soon as my head has touched the pillow. I know I can only take these sleeping pills for a few days but oh , the joy of not lying awake tlll the early hours in the morning is wonderful.
What has everyone planned for today? We have got DS coming for lunch. This wasn’t planned, he announced it yesterday so as it is a last minute thing there won’t be a Sunday roast for lunch we will be having pasta !
Have a a lovely day everyoneBring me sunshine in your smile.

Nana, I hope you eventually managed to get some sleep. Surprisingly both DH and I have been sleeping pretty well, I really thought I would be lying awake worrying but haven’t, which is a bonus. Makes me able to face things much better after a good nights sleep.
Lovely graphic Nan2, I’d like that tray in bed this morning.
Very misty here but the sUnion is trying to shine so it might be lovely later on, Nothing planned, we shall just go with the flow today. I wonder what interesting finds your DH will come backs with Nan2? DH loves car boot sales, it’s surprising what you find sometimes."Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened." - Dr Seuss

Good morning everyone. Nana - I hope you got some sleep - you look pretty wide awake in your picture!!!
Mimi - glad you're getting some sleep even if it's only a few days. How nice to be seeing your DS for lunch - and pasta's good. btw - you can tell if a member is online - there's a green dot bottom right of their avatar. It's greyed out when they're offline.
Oma - I hope GS1 has a good game - it would be great if he got another hat trick!! Three in a row. The time setting is in your profile - I wonder if it changed when I rest for you yesterday? It should be on GMT now. I'll have a look later, but I've got to get going now.
Enfys - I'm so glad you and OH are sleeping - it makes everything else easier to cope with. The sun is out now so hopefully it will be a nice day.
Nanto - Oooh, breakfast in bed, how lovely. Fingers crossed that your OH and his brother don't come home with a garage full of 'bargains'
We're going up to 'Eva's' paddock in a bit to collect bean sticks which our friend has left out for us, and then a quick trip to the allotment. We'll take Eva and she can have a relatively early run round today. See you later, everyone.
