Nice sunny day here. It’s lovely having DS here, we’ve just had breakfast then he and DD are going shopping, GS and DIL gave him a list of stuff they would like him to get. I wondered why he had such a big suitcase with him 😀

Then I think we’re out to lunch.

Have a lovely lunch Gemini and a good trip home.

I have a problem with fish and chips, it is a waste as I take the batter off and just eat the fish. Had a lovely meal with GD1 yesterday evening, it was baked cod on a bed of saute potatoes peas and tiny pieces of pancetta, very tasty. GD was house sitting nearby the pub and as she had left her job that day, I thought she might be feeling a bit sad so suggest a meal, rest of family were going out. GD brought the dog she was looking after, very well behaved and as we parted, her to walk back and me to drive home she said thanks grandma, I love you grandma, she is 23. I don't know if she is doing the right thing leaving the job she was doing but she felt she needed a change, she starts working at Waitrose on Monday, might be more prospects there. Her 2 brothers and younger sister are all very bright, I know she feels the odd one out.

Hope your OH gets some interesting presents for you Nanto at the carboot

That was a disappointing evening for your DD Qwerty. Hope the Gaviscon did the trick.

Well I had a good nights sleep, best for ages, I think the chat with the doctor yesterday really helped.

Got my house and contents insurance quote for the next year and it has gone up by £40. I haven’t made any claims so why? I have been on line this morning and got a cheaper quote for similar cover so Sainsbury has lost a customer. The only difference really is the key fob thing which has a number on for people to call if I lose my keys which, if I really wanted, I could buy separately anyway. The new quote is £151 against £244 with Sainsbury.

Did some of that H stuff earlier and now I am about to start the packing. I wonder how many times I will get things out, put them back and get them out again?

Oma hope your head is feeling better, sometimes having some thing light to eat and a few drinks of water helps.

Brrrr it’s cold outside today, we have just come in from a brisk ( briskish) walk in the sunshine. Going to get some lunch now, OH fancies fish so that’s what we will have as I only cook a Sunday roast every now and again. I can remember when the DC were all living at home Sunday used to be my baking day along with cooking a roast, goodness knows how I did it all .

Not going to do a lot this afternoon, might put my feet up and see what Sky cinema has to offer. I fancy an old, feel good sort of film .
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Oma - I hope you're feeling better and get some sleep tonight - no wonder you were feeling lethargic.

Enfys - how lovely to be planning things with your DS and being able to spend time with him. I'm sure P is feeling better in himself just for seeing DS. I hope all goes well tomorrow whatever the medics decide to do. xx

Nanto - I had to smile, buying Christmas cards for next year!

Nana - you're a busy bee - I hope you got everything done.

                        Welcome back, Gem.

Plant - your GD sounds a delightful young woman and very loving and caring. I hope she is more appreciated in her new job with Waitrose than her previous job. My DIL1 has found them very good employers and she loves her job.

Mimi - it certainly was cold today, and windy at times. It felt like the wind was coming straight from the North Pole. I'm sure Eva wondered why we didn't want a double length walk today - she didn't seem to notice the cold!

Zizi - I hope you sleep well tonight as well. Did you get your packing done?

You all seem to think that super bright light in the sky was the sun, but it wasn't - it was my halo!!! For some reason I found myself with a bucket of soapy water and a sponge in my hands, and I washed down all the paintwork upstairs. And the, as if that wasn't enough for one year, I cleaned the upstairs windows and a huge mirror in the bathroom. We then walked Eva and I came in and spent a couple of hours portioning up food for her for the next 2 or 3 weeks. Then, too tired to cook, I made scrambled egg on toast, and managed not to dry out or burn the scrambled eggs. And all this after being injured by a horse on the landing. We have an old rocking horse which the GDs love. I pulled it out to clean behind it and wash the radiator, but as I pulled it it rocked forward and itss ears hit me in the face, just missing my eye. I thought I'd broken my cheek bone for a minute it sounded so loud, but it's just very bruised and will be an interesting look by tomorrow. I shall be glad to look after GD2 tomorrow - for a rest!!!

Ouch Daisy. Hope the horse is OK.

                          Welcome home Gem.

Nothing special planned today.Usual Monday visit to in laws later. First job there is changing the bedding and getting it washed.

                            Morning all.
Daisy I had to re read part of your post as I had an image of a real horse on your landing, silly me !
                            Welcome home Gem .

Going to town this morning to actually put some money IN to my bank account, that doesn’t happen very often especially at this time of year.

I was reading on the BBC online news page that new mums from China do not leave their homes for a month after giving birth, they don’t wash their hair , shower and cold drinks are not allowed.
This reminded ne of mt DD telling me about a couple living next door to her who originally from China. When DD had our GS she was inundated. with cooked meals most days . My DD went and thanked the couple and explained that it was very knid of them but her OHhad time off work so she was being looked after and they were finding it hard to eat all the food they were cooking for her. They were very nice about it and they explained that in their culture the new mum wasn’t expected to do much for the first month.
I remember mum saying that when she had a baby, neighbours and family used to bring around cooked meals and even go as far as to do some washing etc. In a way it’s gone the reverse, new mus can feel isolated as they tend to live away from family and people tend to keep themselves to themselves now.

Hope everyone is well and keep warm
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

Oma eldest GS tended to spend a lot of Sunday’s in A and E when he played football, he gave it up for a while but now he has started college he is back playing it but now instead of the teams being biggish boys they are now men !
Good to hear that J is ok but a 2 hour wait for an ambulance is terrifying isn’t it , can’t see things getting any better any day soon .
