I have sucky upped the sitting room and put Vanish powder down to clean the carpet. It has to be left for twenty minutes and then sucky upped again. Then I will nip to supermarket before coming back and tidying, outting what little furniture there is back and do a bit of other stuff before collecting husband at 2ish and taking stuff to the charity shop. Other than that it is just dinner, bubbly bath and not a lot else. Well all that will go ahead if the Vanish powder works, if not I shall have to get that steam cleaner out which is a pain in the rear end.

Nan2, I'm glad you enjoyed the fireworks . We saw some some pretty amazing ones on the drive across to our friends house last night.

We are going over to some other friends today. OH is helping them put up some floating shelves. Then the 4 of us are going to their local pub for Sunday lunch.

Sun shining no excuse not to do some gardening this morning and work off the over indulgence from yesterday. Cards taken down, I can see the dust but that can wait until tomorrow.

Hubby didn't come with any junk. He bought a full can of oil for £1, so thats in the garage.
He bought me a lovely bottle of perfume for £1.
His brother didn't buy anything.

Not making a roast dinner today, we are hving baby potatoes,sausage and bacon.
Haven't decided what veg yet.

Qwerty I hope little GS is better soon and that his sister doesn’t catch it.
It’s a lovely sunny morning here but a cold wind.We went for a walk round the cliffs.It takes just over an hour so I’ve had my exercise for the day. I managed to cut the rather wet grass in the front garden yesterday but didn’t attempt the back as it doesn’t get much sun in the winter to dry it off.
No definite plans for the rest of the day.

We didn't see any fireworks last night - just heard them, but we kept all the curtains firmly closed. I'm sure they get more spectacular every year though.

Nanto - big sigh of relief, a can of oil and some perfume is better than we can hope for when our OH go to car boot sales. Do you like the perfume?

Gem - what a bargain. We need a new kettle, but it would take half a day to go to Debenhams to collect it. We'll have to have a look round locally.

Clover - it's cold but sunny here, too, although it has warmed up a bit now. I was glad I'd put a scarf on to take Eva out this morning.

Plant - I only took down OH's birthday cards yessterday (from 10th Oct) and was thinking it's a good way of avoiding dusting.

I need to get a few loads of washing done today, so I'd better get on with it.

Clearly it is your fault Gem that the Debenhams web site keeps crashing on me!! I want to order some new Bobbi Brown make up while it is in the sale and the screen keeps freezing?

Daisy ly you can get things delivered from Debenhams, they are very good. I ordered a lot of stuff for Christmas for the children and the adults and they were here within a couple of days.

The Vanish seems to have worked on the carpet but I cannot get the powder out of the creases between the carpet and the skirting board, well I cannot find the long sucky upper attachment thing is the truth. I suspect it is hidden somewhere in the tip that is the little bedroom. I will just have to get the hand brush out if I cannot find it.

Very pleased with what I have achieved in the garden this morning, I was very tired. I don't know if I inspired him or shamed my SIL to do something in the garden, he took out a dead pyracantha by their front door and, wait for it - went and bought a new one and planted it, I am very impressed he remembered the name. My DD and DS have not inherited my pleasure, or my OH's for gardening, my GS1 seems to have inherited a liking for plants. DD and GD pay out money to go to gyms, gardening is the best gym.

Good evening everyone, there are so many fireworks going off here at the moment, they are very loud and two have landed right by our back door. A little to close for comfort!

Daisy I have brought things online from Debenhams and the delivery is very good, sometimes there is an option for next day delivery . If you need to return anything you can either take it back to the store or the courier who delivered will take it back, it’seasy to arrange..

As it’s cold tonight I am going to get my Jim jams on , make a cup of tea and settle down and watch a bit of TV.....now what time is Strictly on ?

Yes we have a lot of fireworks as well tonight, Bruddy things, bah humbug! We are having belly pork roast tonight with honey roasted carrots, leeks and roast potatoes. Tomorrow is sausages, bubbly squeak (well my version which is mash, leeks, peppers and anything else I can chuck in) and new potatoes.

I am off work tomorrow, this is my first four day weekend since I started the new work regime. It was OK Friday as I was very busy doing home things but tomorrow I am going to have to do an hour of work type work as I am running an event on Tuesday in Westminster with 22 x year 6 kids and despite asking several times the list of names did not come until Friday night. I cannot get to my printer as it is in the spare room with stuff stacked around it so I will have to send to the site secretary to print out the competition sheets, certificates and name labels. Bit annoying but not the worst thing in the world. Other than that I do not plan on doing anything much tomorrow apart from getting stuff out of the freezer for the rest of the week although I might make a start on getting the holiday clothes out. Mmmm yes that is a plan, several hundred changes of mind coming up.

We were just talking and saying that this will be the first holiday to Barbados when our friend who passed will not be there. We will miss him, he was such a larger than life man. Still we will see his family and that will be good.

Mimi I am also in my jimjams as we are now in for the night. Sadly, recorded snooker is being watched on our TV. OH has worked very hard today putting up shelves and a curtain rail for friends though, so she deserves to relax.
