      Good morning all.
Very wet here, but I think it is brightening up.
We are going to friends for a meal tonight and hopefully will see some fireworks in the sky as we drive over!

Baby GS was very picky with his tea again when we babysat. He went down to sleep like an angel however, which meant a lovely evening with GD

Enfys, good for you with the sherry!
I hope you get to see the fireworks Nan2.
A restful weekend before the next round of babysitting sounds a good idea, Qwerty!

Not a nice morning weather wise, so no gardening this morning. I am being very lazy too Qwerty, I am not dressed yet. Had a message from Dil yesterday on FB, would I like to join them for lunch today, well couldn't refuse that offer. they have booked lunch in a restaurant in our village and thought I would like to join them they are picking me up at 1.15. I was intending to go to a Craft Fair and watch Wasps playing rugby but family time sounded better.

        Good for you Enfys

            Good morning ladies.

I was up bright and early, and made OH a packed lunch to take on his day out with the Last of the Summer Wine gang - they're going to see wood turning demonstrations and no doubt treat themselves to a few bits and pieces!

It was raining, but has now stopped. I'll take Eva for a run just after lunch, well before any fireworks start, but I really must wave a duster and that sucky up thingy around today. What joy!

Plant - lunch with your family sounds the best choice. Enjoy.

Gem - have a nice time this evening. Are the cats ok with the fireworks?

Qwerty - you're both getting lazy - well done!! You certainly deserve the rest before Tuesday.

Enfys - I don't very often drink sherry, but when I do I always enjoy it and wonder why I don't drink it more often. It's also nice with ice - tastes quite different.

Nanto - I hope the weather improves and I'm sure you'll enjoy the fireworks.

Clover - did you manage to get out for a walk before the weather changed?

Stopped raining here now, but we’re not going anywhere. Dah is getting on with his boat building (model) and my sock knitting is calling me.

Daisy, when DH used to go to the gym he made friends with two other chaps there, and the girls in the gym used to call them by the Last of the Summer Wine characters names. Foggy, Compo and Clegg...I think P was Clegg. They even used these names themselves.

Yesterday I spent a lot of time wrapping Christmas gifts and Boxing them so they can go in the loft before we go on holiday. I also took all the cushion covers off and chucked some, out some in the charity box and washed the ones I want to keep. Did two loads of washing as well.

It was chucking it down this morning. I walked into the village to get the paper, have cleaned kitchen and bathroom but have not used the sucky upper as if my son comes to cut up the sofas I can see there is going to be a whole lot of mess. I am now going to try and make sense of the mess that is the small bedroom where all sorts has been dumped recently because of decorating and delivery of new furniture. NEXT chairs are coming on Wednesday. The small foam chair beds came day before yesterday so we will be sitting on them until the others come - practically sitting on the floor I think! Still it is only for a couple of days.

The new tables came day before yesterday. One small square dining table, lovely grainy wood and matching nest of tables. We are keeping the original table with the chairs that fit folded underneath to use as a desk in the spare room instead of spending a fortune on a new desk plus of course the bigger table can be wheeled out when we need it.

Going to order the new blinds this afternoon but they will not be here until we get back from holiday. Never mind, nobody overlooks us and they would have to be exceedingly tall to look through the windows as we are first floor!!!

Plant, family time would always win with me too (very closely followed by friends time )
Oma, that sleep would do you good!
Daisy, the cats don't seem too bothered by fireworks (especially the deaf one, LOL) but we will close all curtains and blinds and leave a radio on tonight when we go out.
Happy sock knitting Enfys! My mum loves to tell me about when they made Sea Boot Stockings at school for sailors in WW2. They got some nice thank you letters back sometimes. The wool was so coarse the teacher only allowed them to knit every other day.
                  The tables sound lovely Zizi.

Well the sofas have gone and are awaiting collection in the garden. Here is a picture of our “ camping facility” until Wednesday when the new chairs come. It is not the most comfortable in the world but it will do and will make us appreciate the new furniture more!

Zizi, in my last home I once ordered 2 new sofas, a 2 and 3 seater. No way would the 3 seater do the tight turn in the hallway (Edwardian terraced house) into the living room. This was due to the the scroll arms on the sofas. So, both sofas went away. I chose some similar ones but with different arms, so they would get into the room.No problem and they were nice sofas which I had for many years. The problem was the 6 week wait, and our old furniture having gone to the tip
We sat on camping chairs and a sunlounger, and boy did we appreciate the new sofas once they arrived!
