Woke up to the sound of rain against the windows! Now grey and dull and quite chilly, yuck!

OH gone off for his first visit to the chiropodist,or chiropractor as they're now known! Couldn't do that job. Hopefully she'll can do something with his toes. I don't think a combination of diabetes and daily chemo are helping, but we'll hear what she's had to say when he gets back.

DS's friend had a little girl yesterday, Blanka Franciska......not sure about surname because they add bits to the father's name if it's a girl, out there! Better get the jacket finished.

Hopefully all the poorly people are feeling better today. Have a good day whatever you're up to x

Aww, a new baby how lovely WG

The tooth can be saved! It can either be built up again with composite , using the pin which is already under it or I can have a crown. Thinking of my pocket and the number of appointments I would need, I opted to have it built up. If it doesn't last long I will have a crown. It is towards the back so doesn't really show. I go back towards the end of September so will have a biting surface again before I go to Canada

Good afternoon all. It’s a late checking in for me .
Its been a very busy day. I went to town to buy a birthday card and ended up buying 20, that’s right you heard correctly 20. They were 10 for a £1 so I brought enough to last me through the rest of the year and beyond. I have got 7 birthdays next month! Also brought a book of postage stamps and before I knew what had happened I had spent over £8
Got home to discover a very nice young man stood outside by the front door . He was from the gas company that is laying new pipes in our road and property. It’s a straight forward job for those of us on the ground floor flats but the upstairs flats will have more of an upheaval as the pipes have to be fed from the outside to their meter in their cupboard. At the moment it’s fed through a separate pipe from our gas pipe . Work starts on this as from next week By the time he had left it was lunch time . Then I did some work in the garden and then cleared out some of my unwanted baking tins.

OH has had to buy a new garden strimmer as ours has just died on us . It’s never ending isn’t it. Just as we start to make ends meet some idiot comes and pulls the one end back

WeeGranny what an unusual name, where does it originate from do you know.

Gem I have a tooth that is built up and so far so good it seems to beholding out ok, it will want to mind as paying for dental treatment is more painful than the actual work !

Evening ladies , my two youngest babies have just gone home two very noisy and excited children 😊
Gem last year when I fell in the utility/ back door and broke my front teeth on the washer door I had them built up they very solid , I haven't had luck with crowns they always fall out so this is much better
Mimi something always breaks just when you could do without the expense doesn't it 😕

Mimi the new family are Slovakian hence the unusual names.....probably quite common there! DS lives out there and they've become very good friends since he's been there and indeed they've looked after us when we've visited. Now I think of it a lot of girls' names end in A!

Gem - I'm sorry I missed your post about your poorly tooth - you posted while I was typing, and my post went on to a new page. Thank goodness it can be saved, and there are options. Look after it until your next appointment - no more crunching the cucumber!

WeeGranny - How did your OH get on at his appointment? Good news about the new baby - and I'm sure her parents will love the jacket.

Oma - I bet those two will sleep well tonight after such an exciting time with Nana and Grandpa.

Mimi - Let's hope the gas pipe work isn't too disruptive for you or your neighbours. Twenty cards! Make sure you remember where you put them! I'd be afraid of putting them in a safe place, never to find them again!

They say things come in threes - our ensuite radiator/towel rail sprang a leek, then our shower stopped working, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed the ceiling doesn't fall in or something!

I've had a lazy day today, apart from taking Eva to the paddock and mowing the lawn. My goodness, the grass has recovered well - it's growing like a weed. Come to think of it there are more weeds than grass anyway!!! But it was good timing, because it rained soon afterwards. OH's car needed a bit of work but passed its MOT. We are forever needing things replaced related to the suspension/springs whatever they are because we're always driving over cattle grids as well as the standard potholes and unmade tracks in the Forest.

Hopefully, we're off in the caravan for 5 days from next Wednesday - just fairly local. We didn't have chance to go during August, and with autumn fast approaching we want to have at least a couple of breaks soon.

Daisy, you are getting your moneysworth out of the caravan.

                      Not doing/going anywhere special today.
Off to look at Oma's photos now.

                      Oma,they are growing up now.
Something seemed to grab everyones attention in the last photo.

Good morning, we have the grandchildren today. Going on a mini steam train, then play area followed by lunch at a pub with play space. Last summer holiday day with Nanna and Papa ...... mind you, they’ll all be back for Sunday lunch at the weekend 🤣

Good morning Nan2, Avo and everyone else passing by!

Daisy, I hope you get at least 2 more caravan trips in. Maybe more if we have the Indian Summer heatwave some are predicting!
That sounds a lovely day Avo. I love seeing photos of of your lovely grandchildren on FB.

Sunny here this morning. I am glad as today we are taking my mum the coast. She loves the sea and hasn't been for a couple of years, so I was determined to get her there this summer. Early summer was rain and more rain, then the heatwave which mum couldn't have coped with, and of course we have to work around golf and grandchild days. Today's forecast seemed OK so we went with it! We got a Tesco delivery yesterday, including mum's stuff, so I will take that with us when we pick her up.
The open air cinema last night was good. There were lots of people there. There is a nice park behind the minster, we all settled ourselves with our camping chairs etc, and watched the film. Lovely to see the Minster lit up in the darkness. We were glad of our jackets etc though, and the blanket DD brought which we all 3 shared!

Off to look at Oma's pics now.

                          Have a good day everyone

                            Good morning everyone.

Oma those two are certainly growing fast, lovely children.

Daisy, glad you can have another caravan trip.Perhaps next year you can make it to Wales.Sorry about the leaks, but it’s better they happened now than when it’s a lot colder.

We had a day out yesterday to the National Botanic Gardens near Carmarthen. Back at the beginning of summerI noticed a poster advertising a once a day bus service calling at the Gardens. It was so hot earlier that I didn’t think there would be much to see and it would be too hot walking round..Anyway we decided to go yesterday. It was sunny and very pleasant. As well as the usual beds where everything is well labelled, there is a Butterfly house,a fantastic walled garden plus the great dome which is like a mini Eden project, amongst other water features and fantastic countryside views. We had a lovely time including coffee, cake and later ice cream!

The weather looks generally good for everyone today so I hope you enjoy it,

Clover, that sounds a lovely day out, and just the right time to go weatherwise.

Plant - you're right! Phew, I can relax, although the leak in the caravan still isn't sorted out properly. It's not actually leaking but there seems to be no pressure on the kitchen tap and the water comes out very slowly. The man who did the job is still trying to work out what's wrong! We've just booked to go away next week. An Indian summer would be great, but we enjoy it whatever the weather. Clover - South Wales was on our agenda this year, but what with the cold wet spring and OH's eye appointments plus him double booking himself on the only week we could go in August, we've been a bit frustrated. Next year we're hoping that with GD2 at school we can make some longer trips, so you might still find us camping on your doorstep.

Avo - I bet the GC will love the mini steam train. When the summer holidays started they seemed to stretch ahead endlessly and now they're coming to an end! Where did all that time go! Like Gem, I love seeing your photos on FB - they're gorgeous children and always look as though they're enjoying their latest adventure.

Clover - the Botanic Gardens sound lovely. What a perfect day out, and good timing with the weather a bit cooler, but still lots of colour and interest in the gardens. I'm sure G enjoyed it too.

Gem - I do hope your mum enjoys her trip to the seaside today. The weather here is just right, so I hope it is for you too. The open air cinema sounds lovely for a late summer evening out, and I've seen pictures of the Minster all lit up - it must be quite magical to see it in the flesh.

Cooper and Eva are having a play date at our house today! At the moment, they've exhausted each other and are lying on the landing, almost nose to nose, although I don't suppose it will be long before they're ready to play again. Cooper actually looks bleary-eyed, he's so tired, but doesn't want to 'give up'. He alternates between being a toddler and a teenager!

Nanto - our lawn was looking quite autumnal this morning - a very heavy dew and a nip in the air.
