Daisy, the conservatory does look better. He wants a new security light now.
Window vac is very useful Daisy.

Nana, pleased the appointment went well.

Hairdresser rang last night. She's coming today instead of tomorrow.

Looks like we've had quite a bit of rain during the night.

      Have a good day ladies.

Sometimes I forget to like posts, but that doesn't mean I don't like them.

Good morning from a very wet and dull south coast. Pouring with rain here and looks like it’s in for the day.

Off to Hospital later for OHs oncology appointment and also a scan to see how things are going. Fingers crossed all is well.

Yesterday morning I woke up with a big fat face! One side was really swollen, didn’t know what it was so decided to ring docs for advice. They are very good for that, so doc rang me back and we decided it could have been a bite of some sort but there was no pain or any other problem so he said leave it for the morning and to go and see him in the afternoon if it didn’t improve. Luckily it did slowly go down so left it and this morning is almost back to normal, still feels a bit tingly but otherwise ok. Thank goodness, I don’t want something else to think about at the moment.

Oma, P has also been told to drink more to help, his kidney function. I keep bottles of water in the fridge and top them up as he uses them. We take one out with us too but he could still do better. It’s difficult isn’t it.

Have ve a good day everyone, ☔️

Good morning, everyone. Enfys's dull and wet weather stretches as far as us! I'm glad I cut our lawn yesterday and did a few odd jobs, but do slightly regret spending half an hour watering!!

Enfys - I wonder what made your face swell like that. Thank goodness it's nearly back to normal. Keeping everything crossed for you for P's appointment today. He's been doing so well. Big hug to you. xx

Oma - has B tried those little tiny Robinson concentrated squashes. It's quite satisfying watching the squash swirl round into your glass or bottle of water, and might be enough to lessen the boredom of drinking plain water or conventional squash. Enjoy your night out with the nurses - perhaps they've got some good ideas to persuade His Naughtiness to drink more water.

It must be hairdressing week - Oma and me yesterday, and Nanto today.

Nanto - I keep thinking about a window vac, but would like to try before I buy - I'm not good with household gadgets and often prefer a non-tech version - I use very hot soapy water and a jay-cloth, and a squeegee thingy to wipe the suds off.

I've tried 'look alike' crocs and they're ok, but the real ones have more support and thicker soles so are more bouncy - a new pair has me hoping along like Tigger!

Nana - the advice about not putting your holidays on social media is sensible. Hopefully on GRU you are 'disguised' from casual browsers looking for criminal opportunities because your user name hides your real identity. That was good news from your consultant yesterday. Heave a sigh of relief and celebrate. xx

I've got an exciting date with the dentist and the hygienist at lunch-time. I've had this appointment booked for a couple of months because Mr Dentist has had a longer than usual holiday. So I'm a bit cross that I shall miss lunch with my ex-college friends today. At least I can get some washing done, even though I can't dry it outside.

            Have a good day everyone.

I am another guilty person who doesn't drink enough water, I never seem to feel thirsty. Hairdresser coming at 12 and then I want to pop up to J.L. GGS paid us a visit yesterday afternoon, his usual entertaining self, he enjoyed picking up the fallen apples, his mother took the larger ones home. He couldn't understand why he couldn't have the paddling pool filled up and kept pointing to the outside tap. the cat came out of the woods and proceeded to entertain him by rushing up every tree and walking on the roof (bungalow). I am very annoyed the weather has changed just in time for my holiday. clothes waiting to go in the case, not sure what time DS is picking me up but it will be very early, do hope we don't have a wet journey.

Enfys, hope your visit to the hospital goes okay, you must feel a bit anxious every time.

Nana you must be feeling very relieved that all is well with your bits.

              Have a good day everyone.

                Good morning everyone.
I cannot say how much I enjoyed Secret Garden. I will write on another thread!!

                Another Croc fan here
I drink a lot of water, and don't find it a challenge, I like water.
Keeping everything crossed for your OH's scan results Enfys. That does sound like a bite you had on your face.
I agree it is unwise announcing an empty house by talking about your holiday on FB etc. We have someone in our house when we go away, otherwise I wouldn't do it (and do kind of trust my FB friends not to break in )
I hope the nice weather comes back for you in Cornwall Plant, and my family are are heading there today, and arriving tomorrow.
                GGs sounds very cute Plant
I like the Thursday graphic Nan2, very cheerful!

A free day today. I am seeing my mum and doing her shopping tomorrow instead of today, and the Ladies Roll Up (not a foundation garment ) at golf is tomorrow instead of this the usual Thursday afternoon so we are both free. Nothing planned as yet.

                Have a good day everyone,

Enfys you haven't been stung have you ? There again it would be painful if you had been stung wouldn't it , sounds strange so maybe it is a bite of some kind , had you been busy in the garden with all the bugs about that could be the cause xx

Good morning everyone it’s raining here at the moment.

Nana is it an hiatus hernia and has it impacted on you day to day life at all. Mine is quite big now and rather than surgery I try and control it with prescribed medication and a change in eating habits and a special pillow to keep me from lying flat at night. I eat my main cooked meal at lunch time, something light about 5ish and then perhaps a biscuit with a cup of tea in the evening if I feel peckish. Things I can no longer eat are nuts, oats, bananas , pickles and spices . Even some sorts of painkillers are avoided.

Am I odd but I have never brought a pair of shoes for the garden, I tend to use an old pair that has seen better days and are no longer suitable for wearing when out and about.. (Mind you I am going to look a bit odd when my purple high heels are down graded to garden duties)

Went to see Dr yesterday , I will update in YEO later . Not bad news just don't want to post on here.

Enfys do you think you might have had an mild reaction from an unnoticed insect bite ? Hope P's appointment goes well .

OH has been told he needs to drink lots of water but I know that I could do with drinking more also .

Just waiting for my prescription to be delivered then I will pop out for some much needed fresh air, Have a good day everyone
Bring me sunshine in your smile.

I braved the weather to go into the village to do a bit of shopping this morning and it was just like winter - only wetter! I arrived at the dentists looking like a drowned rat! Still I had plenty of time to dry off as the hygienist was running half an hour late! Got home, had a sandwich for lunch, kindly made by OH, and then sat down and didn't want to get up again.

I've picked some apples from our trees this afternoon and they are lovely. It reminds me why I don't like apples from the supermarket.

Just wondering whether we can get Eva out for a run in the paddock before the rain starts again.

Mimi - I'd love to see you do the gardening in your purple high heels!

Well, at last it’s stopped raining and looks a bit brighter. We saw a different doctor today, always good to get a different slant on things, but she was happy with how things were going. We won’t know the results of the scan yet. She did say about the drinking lots idea not to have too much tea especially after late afternoon. We both get up during the night, DH especially so she suggested cutting right down on the tea. We are going to try it, DH says it tastes funny now anyway. So we shall see, just lots of water, fruit squash, herbal teas. Watch this space.

my face is fine now, I think it must have been a bit although I don’t remember anything. Feeling very tired after yesterday’s gym session so an early night I think.

                          Good evening.

Glad you face is back to normal Enfys.
Only a light rain shower here Daisy.
We decided to go to the cinema to see the new Mamma Mia film. I enjoyed it very much, but towards the end I found one scene so emotional it made me cry. Not the tear in the eye crying but the sobbing crying. As I was in the cinema I controlled myself as much as I could to remain silent, and came out with a bad headache. We went for a coffee and I felt better. I don't know why it hit me quite so hard. It could be my health experience and the thought of my girls losing me, I don't know but it hit me hard.
We went to Tesco to do a shop afterwards. A bit of boring shopping calms one down!

Enfys - as Oma says, it's a relief to hear the consultant say she was happy with how things are going. I'm glad your face is better - it must have felt very strange.

We missed the break in the weather - by the time I'd posted my last post it had started raining again, and since OH was going out at 6.30 we didn't have time to wait.

Oma - it sounds as though you had a good time with the nurses. Did they persuade B to drink more water?

Gem - It's funny how some things hit you when you least expect it. But it's what makes us human. xx

I've had an exciting evening portioning up dog food, and now my neck and shoulders ache. I'm off to bed with a Scotch!! Sleep well everyone, night, night. xx
